He didn’t even try and poke after either. Avoided every bit of contact. He could’ve won the puck battle 2 or 3 different ways.

Media coverage of this team is near 24:7 and they move from justified criticisms to hot takes. The issue is the amount of coverage really it’s why it can be so toxic, and the fans have their own echo chambers amplified by the media. But man if they win … they’ll be legends.

We have 2 players who need the most attention and need to be shut down. He's one..and on likely a pretty sore leg. If 24 other guys can't pick up the slack, it's not just Marner's fault... especially when Marner's not playing with the guy who sets the expectations.. Forget the money, it has nothing to do with hockey. Every team would take him at that salary.

@@eshep71 2 games? It's been this way in every playoff series since he's been on the Leafs. He's a coward everytime. Remember the playoff game where Toronto was up by one goal and he shot the puck over the glass to avoid getting hit and took a penalty which resulted in the other team tying and then winning the game a short time later. Or how about last year in the playoffs when he panicked and did a drop pass to Mathews in our own end which also led to a goal. Don't get me wrong, in the regular season, Marner is a great setup man that sees the ice well and can even score some goals....but come playoff time, different story.... And, yeah, any team that wants Marner for 11 million or whatever raise he's going to ask for can have him just as long as it's not another Canadian team.
