I am so with Skip. Everytime there is any kind of expectation for them, they find a way to screw it up. Sorry but Stoops has epically underachieved since that one championship in 2001.
He's won 80% of his games so he definitely didn't underachieve. But gosh I'm with you. You'd think we wouldn't lose in the NC/Playoffs 4 times in 12 years....
Does anyone remember HOW BAD OKLAHOMA was before STOOPS?...Hes one of the best coaches in the country..And a great recruiter..KEEP HIM FOR AS long as he wants to be there. Barry Switzer aint coming through that door.
Getting rid of Bob Stoops is a very risky dangerous move. People just assume that a program will always be good, once it is good. Look at where Texas has been the past few years. Texas Tech had a good program under Mike Leach. That's gone since he left. However, I will say that Stoops players very often come into big games looking flat. I'd also say that Stoops has been blessed by QB's that were not recruited by OU, but just came because they wanted to play at OU:Sam Bradford and Baker Mayfield. In general, they have not recruited well at QB the last 10 years or so.
First bob stoops need to get a new offensive line coach because this offensive line is limiting there offensive mayfield has no protect. There lucky that there running back core is so special. I feel like you all don't give Houston enough credit Tom Herman has changed that program starting with the upset against Florida state in the bowl game and then winning in recruit getting a 5 star player Ed Oliver who is a monster. This isn't a push over team. Y'all have to admit that Oklahoma isn't that good UNLESS they deal with the offensive line. There defense simply couldn't cover there big play receiver. Oklahoma cleans up that offensive line allowing mayfield to make play yes Oklahoma will be a great ball club untill then I don't think people should be surprised that they lose. Oh yeah and please don't sleep on this Houston team great ball club all around
Oklahoma has never had these amazing recruiting classes that Skip always seems to think they have. Here's the reality. The 2016 Oklahoma Sooners Consist of 2016- 21st ranked recruiting class 2015- 17th " 2014- 13th " 2013- 17th " 2012- 11th " Not once in the top 10, yet Oklahoma makes it to the FINAL FOUR last year. With 9 Big12 championships, why would you ever fire him? Just so all is equal- in last years playoff Alabama 2016- 2nd ranked recruiting class 2015- 1st 2014- 1st 2013- 1st 2012- 1st Clemson 2016- 8th 2015- 4th 2014- 12th 2013- 13th 2012- 10th Bob Stoops may not be a great recruiter, but I think hes a good coach.
Boy this is whack, seeing Skip & Stephen A. sitting opposite of other guys ( guys I both like ) is just lame. Money will always find a way to fuck up the churches Money
