Now I need to see how the Elite Engineering can is doing on the C5 lol. Only difference is I don't think it even has 1500 miles on it since I put it on. Thanks for checking in Peter!

Another great video! I’ve noticed that my catch cans fill up a little quicker in the winter months and that may be the cause of your high level. They also fill up quickly if you’re making frequent short trips where the oil isn’t reaching full operating temperature. I have the same sized JLT can on my Trailblazer SS and have found that 2000 miles is the sweet spot, just as you said.

That is great to know Brian. I didn't think about weather affecting the outcome. Will continue to monitor of course.

And I thought only LS engines had a oil swilling addiction.... Good work!

I would think that just about anything running 0 or 5wt oils is going to be extras susceptible to breathing it's own filth. One of these days I need to check the can on the vette and see whats in there.

Nice. Now you can do your oil changes standing up. Lol

I like the no oil change required method. Replenishment only lol. ;)

Thank you BST. I hear ya on the expense part lol. There are days when I hope the dealer calls and says we want to buy your jeep back plus a few thousand.

I get a couple tablespoons every 1k-2k miles on my GTO. It has almost 150k miles on the SBE. :)

I think the one big difference there Greg is the LS motahs don't use 0 weight oil.

Whoa, that is full for 3k miles. Especially compared to my Camaro SS. Then again it takes me years to reach 3k miles on the SS. That's about the same as on my dad's Challenger tho. I forget the interval he did, but it was all the way full as well.

Yeah it kinda shocked me too a bit Hollywood. Definitely not concerned about the health of the engine. I'm assuming it has more to do with the weird oil. It definitely has the consistency of water being a zero weight oil lol.

I'm burning through mobile 1 0w-40, within a month ( daily driven) a few out of down drives and I had about half of what you had. I'm switching to amsoil asap. No idea why they started doing 0w-40... its burning up somewhere! Brand new vehicle doesn't make sense. Thanks for the video

Thanks for stopping in Nathan. I hope your engine is ok. I'm far from an oil snob and am generally not brand loyal but we went straight to the Pennzoil SRT specific oil. I don't know if it's a gimmick or not but it has been fine. I have maybe added a half quart between the computer generated oil change intervals. We've changed the oil twice in 12k miles if that helps. I get on this thing hard nearly every single time I drive it.

You definitely Need to empty it out more often! With the level that high in the catch can you were probably sucking oil straight into the intake manifold! Sucking condensed oil into the intake Is Much Worse than the usual oil vapor!! Empty It More Often.... 🤐

Totally agree. Have moved up to around every 1500 to 2k miles and that seems to keep it happy.

Very helpful video, going to buy it for sure, can you share the link so I could get one? About the oil, im so confused due to the argument on rather its factory oil or benzoil or shell
@PNW_Car_Mods
@PNW_Car_Mods 2 года назад
I bought the JLT stuff factory direct as you really can't find it cheaper anywhere else as they have strict pricing. Recently JLT was taken over by S&B filters. Try the following link. www.jlosc.com/mopar-vehicles/2011-2021-jeep-grand-cherokee/

Oh and don't get too hung up on the kind of oil. Just make sure whatever oil you use that it meets the specifications requested in the owners manual. I use the Pennzoil SRT oil just because it is relatively easy to find and there is no doubt it meets spec.

What’s the link got the JLT oil catch can, not J&L

From what I can find online JLT doesn't really exist anymore. They were bought out by S&B Filters.

I think if I put some boost to it that will counteract the 0 weight oil from trying to get past the rings haha.
