There’s a similar situation to this with the Type 99 LMG that I feel like is more well known. An official treyarch article listed the pack a punch names for the weapons in the map, and the Type 99 LMG was on the list. I remember everyone going crazy trying to find out how to get the gun. The theory’s ranged from “get lucky from the box” to as complex as “upgrade the PTRS-41 and shoot each corner of the garage door that says help 5 times and the door will collapse revealing the Type 99 LMG wall buy for 2500 points”
An easter Egg like that would probably put New Treyarch's devs over the maps budget by hundreds of thousands of dollars. When in all reality anyone who can mess with the Bo3 Mod Tools could tell you that to add such a Egg into a map would probably consist of about 25 lines of code. 5 brushes. And one Pre-Built (the Wallbuy itself) But something like that apparently takes a multiple-dozen man team MONTHS to make somthing out of Pre-Existing assets from the same Library they've been using for the last LITTERAL DECADE. (The Die-Rise "Ball Lion" is a VERY common reused mesh. Once you notice it. You cant unnoticed it.)
I thought that was the Type 99 Arisaka was the reason for the myth, since there is a PaP of that but there isn't the LMG. Either way, I would've liked to get it since I really enjoyed the gun in MP along with the DP 28.
@dravenscringegaming5914 The "ball lion" are the lion statues in spawn that hold the ball you shoot with the sliquifier during one of the Easter egg steps. Famously used in the WAW campaign, rising out of the ground and awarding you with a raygun
@@bennyok4725 I made a comment on how the box weapons system works: Basically When a map is made the editor Treyarch devs Can use a file called the "zm_levelcommon_weapons.csv" there the devs can decide what weapon is in the box and what is not allowed in the box. The reason this user got it through commands is the weapon exists it's only able to be obtained through commands. The reason I think you can't get the weapon is either had bad issue with the stock M1 Garand and the Grenade version of M1 Garand or they didn't think it was necessary to put it in the box since when you PaP it it is pretty much the same thing except just a more powerful weapon.
The feeling after beating the final mission and then waking up on that airfield was just different back then. Crazy how they turned it into an entire game

@@12jdjd Its not so much the maps and storylines that I dont like, its just the gameplay and mechanics of it. They added too much and killed the arcade simplicity of it
If you ever do more research on waw feel free to come to us modders, we look at the code all the time to figure mysteries out. Unfortunately regular m1 garand and sawed off were excluded from this map. Type 100 wasnt on nacht and verruckt, with them instead both having springfields, and ppsh wasnt on nacht either

The launch version listed it as a campaign mission rather than zombies mode because you had to complete the campaign to unlock it, and then immediately after completing the campaign you would be put into a game of zombies

This is some extremely impressive research, even went to lengths to research patch dates from map pack 3 as well! Only thing I can think of is someone who wrote the Wiki article used Console commands and simply mistook the actual available M1 Grand from WaW and instead saw the regular one without the rifle grenade and wrote about it. It's a long shot for this to be true, but I'd assume that if you're going to write a Wiki about something, you'd want easy access to the material you're writing about IE /giveall. I wonder, is the regular M1 Grand placed before the one with the rifle grenade in the order of weapons after you use the command? There's also the possibility that whoever wrote it saw both of them and maybe assumed the rifle grenade version wasn't supposed to be there, so they chose the regular one instead?
Correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure if custom maps are using der riese assets, it IS possible to obtain the M1000. So maybe not on the official map but on custom maps using the same scripts and weapon loadout

Great video man. If you're able to access older versions of the game, you should do a video on the BAR with bipod. Thing was so glitchy to mount. I once got an error message and got kicked from a online game trying to mount it on the ground
From what I remember, the M1000 was a thing, but it was a bug in the early release of the map. It was indeed the imploder m1 garand, because I’ve had it before. It didn’t happen often, so it was unbelievably rare. I’ve had it probably 6 times out of the probably near 1,000 matches of Der Riese I’ve played over the years. The update had some issues, and those issues are what caused the name change. There are other people I’ve spoken too about similar experiences way back in the day with the grenade variant bug who say they were just as confused as I was. There really was no difference in the weapons other than the lack of the grenade, so it really wasn’t anything special. Still, it was cool to have it when it was there.
When you said mew under the truck it just triggered flashbacks to when I was 7 playing fire red and watching RU-vid tutorials on how to get mew at the docks only to be greeted by a jumpscare

Most likely in the CSV file for the weapons its set to not spawn in the box either because it had a conflict with the grenade version of M1 garand or they think it was unnecessary to have both. You can get it but through commands. if someone can decompile the game in look for its weapon file it probably say don't let it spawn the box. Hope this gave some idea.
For patch 1.6 you'll either have to have that update file on a USB and put it in your console, play the PS3 version and update it to 1.6 or hope someone out there has a link to a pirated version of 1.6 I would test this myself but for some reason physical WaW copies aren't able to be installed anymore and I don't think you can even download the updates for it.
best person to ask would be cruppz (world record holder for every waw map) he has the most knowledge on literally everything from the coding of the game to entity spawning ect and how the game works inside and out. But I can at least say (I've grinded Der Riese WR for 4 - 6 years) on and off between 2010 to 2020 and I don't think I've ever seen it in the box. It might just be people screwing with other people. I assumed that this video was going to be discussing the type 99 being on the map when that was a huge rumor. Doing the "give all" command won't really matter since it gives you every gun anyway as zombies was originally designed for devs to screw around and test weapons.
I have a vague memory of having this game on disc for pc and I had to look for the files of all the updates online and put them in individually memory's blurry from then so kinda unsure

I don't know about Xbox 360/Xbox One, but on PS4 you're able to use certain programs to install specific patches, rather than just the disc version/most up to date version. Also, great video.
There might be a way on PC of accessing the 1.6 version but I am not exactly sure because you can change your system time and date, but I don't mess with that stuff without knowing whether or not it can mess up other things
For more incredibly strange Mystery Box facts: You can pull the M1911 out of the box on two maps, those being Shi No Numa and Mob of the Dead. I have no idea why it's those two maps specifically, and it's incredibly rare on both of them.

when this first started i couldve swore i remember getting both versions on der riese as since its inception ive always loved playing waw zombies, but on second thought its definitely just remembering it happening on other maps and associating it with der riese because its waw zombies
Only played like 10 rounds on Kino back in the day. I don't know why the almighty YT algorithm started to blast me with Zombie content, but I'm glad it did. It's starting to make me want to find someone to play it with.

Just so you know, the PC version also came on disc where you need to go out your way to get the patches for the game EDIt: Forgot to mention, You might be able to find the physical copy out there on the internet since there is no real need to have a disc drive nowadays unless you have physical copies of old games you want to reinstall
Surely someone could go into the code for the PC version and see if the M1 is in the box on Der Riese. Or see if the Shi no numa one has a PAP version if the weapon.
I commented this on an old video but could you possibly look into going into negative points on nacht when buying grenades off the wall, I've had this instance happen once on console but could never replicate it

Yesterday i think i saw a video that on ps3 World At War shi no numa there was "dog howling" during the smoke when dog rounds would appear, but that isnt on the xbox 360 version. So maybe this could be the case aswell. But also the COD Wiki has wrong information. As example for the QED on Moon it stays that it can turn the comsonaut into an ally, but nobody ever saw this or uploaded it either.
@@theGODZILLA150 the thing is that there a quite a few unconfirmed ones and like 30+ confirmed and some of them are really rare already. Keep in mind sometimes nothing happens aswell when you throw them, if you throw a qed at a perk machine you can get the perk - but that already feels like winning the lottery. There is a youtuber who has been uploading QED Videos since nearly 10 years and only half a year ago got a green perk bottle from the QED. I mean its just getting lucky at the end but i dont think you can fully unconfirm some effects, but stuff like the cosmonaut turning is most likely a troll from someone. But if you want to try it : On Moon you can lock the box for 4 rounds with the Hacker or move it to whereever you want it. Hack the box locations where the box isnt currently, you get a spin for 1200 and hack it so you can get a respin for 600, then hack again and you get 950 back. For the next 4 rounds the box cant appear there (also during fire sale), like that you can lock and move the box. Biodome would probably the best location to lock the box in then you can spin the box - hack for 600 - hack again and you get 950 back, so you spinned the box twice basically for 600.
Could you theoretically put the Der Riese DLC on a flash drive and plug it in to use on your vanilla 360 disc? I remember back in the day my friend would let me borrow the DLCs that way since I didn't have them. I forget where I had internet or not and was on the latest patch
With a rgh xbox 360 you can select any update you want. I could test this doing same method as you just give myself all weapons and drop those 2 and see if they pop up on 1.6
