I’m glad Chanel spoke about hyper independence. I’ve noticed it was an issue in my relationship as I was also raised by only my mother. We’re so used to having to do it on our own it’s unusual for us to see a man do for us! I will definitely sit back and let my bf take the lead more. Great video!!

Chanel’s comment on seeing her mother do everything and learning wow I need to figure out what “I” really need this man for was beautifully stated especially the epiphany of being able to lean into that & relinquish control. Also on the advise for single ladies : a friend of mine once said the Universe will deal you the same crap over and over again to test if you really changed, until you start rejecting that crap to show the universe that no its not for me anymore only then will you tap into the next chapter. If the man or you are attracted to each other or are attractive then no in my opinion. A lot of Men have female friends in hopes of sleeping with them one day. An option. I know there are exceptions, but it’s rare. Did he introduce you to her? Did he have sisters or brothers as siblings? I think she might have been more comfortable if you were a family friend then just his friend. These situations can be tricky.

I've often heard this question alot. I know that my male friends that are either single or married , if given the opportunity they would give in. At some point in our friendship they were either attracted to me or cared for me greatly with the hopes of having a relationship. It's a very thin line but you have to set boundaries and be extremely disciplined. It's also going to become a constant problem if you are an attractive person as well. If a woman has an issue with their man having a friend of the opposite sex , more than likely she has entertained a man that's a "friend" who impacts the way she thinks.

I really enjoyed this interview. However, I’m going to have to disagree with Candace at 17:25. Duke did give his opinion on the situation right after, which I side with heavily. But I think for Candace to say her relationship isn’t for nobody else, and “it’s real life” is a bit arrogant. Don’t get me wrong, her relationship with her boyfriend is exclusive to them and they should cherish it. However, like Duke said, it’s important to be an example and give people something to admire and aspire to be. As social media influencers and “power couples”, I think it’s sort of important to be a little transparent with your followers. I really love Duke and Chanel. Personally this was my first time hearing about Omar and Candace. Anyways, great interview!
