I decided to see how long he would lie in a field with his head in the ground without interruption--20 minutes!
This gopher was luckier then the 4 previous ones I filmed only a few hundred yards away. Those four unfortunate rodents were stalked and killed by a much more patient Great Blue Heron ( • Heron Kills 4 Gophers ... ).
