As Kiwi I really appreciate the mahi you boys put into these hunts and seeing my back yard shown like this makes me really proud of my country.. As a designer, the production is slick a.f. the pacing, the calm no b.s way you guys present is refreshing, nice work don't stop. Much respect from NZ. Kia Kaha (be strong - sometimes used idiomatically to suggest that there are risks involved.)

Another top edit team, stoked you guys are showing respect and using all of the animal that you harvest, all kiwi hunters can learn from your set of ethics. It's a great valley that you were hunting in, just a shame you didn't see any big old boys. Can't wait for the next upload, keep em rolling in.

Very cool video guys, the only comment I have is when you throw the tahr down the mountain like a rag doll that was very disrespectful to the animal. You didn't need to put that on the video... you have to keep in mind that kinda stuff is what haters look for and the give hunters a bad rep. ..I understand it was the "fast way" of getting the animal down the mountain but next time cut it out of the video.... thanks!
@GrittyGearAndPodcast
@GrittyGearAndPodcast 4 года назад
We actually discussed this at length in the production room prior to including the scene in the video. Frankly, I thought nothing of it. But a couple of guys in the office thought it was “disrespectful.” I asked them, “why is it disrespectful?” Nobody could provide a logical answer. It’s an interesting topic and I want to explore it further. But for my part, respecting the animal is done when it’s alive-respect is given when you do your best to kill an animal with the least amount of suffering under fair chase conditions. And respect is given to the animal when you do your best to utilize as much of the animal as possible-salvaging what you can while wasting nothing. Sliding him down the mountain demonstrates a practical recovery and harvest of the whole animal. Believe me, we debated this-but I just don’t think it’s good for hunters to “sugar-coat” everything we do. It’s a balance-I want to keep it real but also provide context so that the activities can be understood. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
@Burn280
@Burn280 4 года назад
@@GrittyGearAndPodcast I definitely agree with you Brian. Respect is doing everything in your power after the shot to recover and utilize as much of the animal as possible. And if sending an animal sliding down a mountain means that so be it. Plus respect is given when you choose not to make those shots in areas that odds of recovery are slim. I commend you both... How is Luke's knee?
@glenhughes7051
@glenhughes7051 3 года назад
I agree! Some may think it to be disrespectful, but I don’t see a problem. You were recovering your harvest in the most practical way possible.
