Fun fact: Varré totally killed the maiden that's in your tomb and that's why he's waiting outside to say oh hello, I see you're maidenless, lucky for you I'm here to guide you and totally manipulate you into my blood cult
I saw something the other day that suggests the Grafted Scion killed your maiden. Makes sense that Godrick could've sent it to kill the maiden of the new tarnished in town.
@Pr1ns well there's not really a clear obvious answer but I still interpret it this way. soulsborne is always going to be vague in most things but it also does like to leave things implied. There's enough connections from Varré to the Tarnished and their original maiden that I believe this to be their intent at least on some level.
It's so funny watching Jacob play this having not seen any playthroughs before and having moments where because he knows everything already he can just shout, "BECAUSE YOU'RE A BUSH MY DUDE!" and I'm forced to just accept that.
It's funny 'cause most Souls games you get a hi-fi 3D cinematic (rather than concept art slides that, while not ugly, are definitely the cheaper option), and by no means *bad* voicework overtop it. But here they clearly just went, "Nah, let's put all the opening cinematic budget into scouting the best voice actor then paying him to live in-character for two years in a crumbling ruin being prodded by dudes in mouldering armor so he can really get the right feel for things, i want this dude to be on the verge of rage-filled tears as he delivers his lines."
Olive wearing the Orange is how I discovered the orange for my own cat when she needed a cone (she ended up really liking the orange and she'd use it as a lil neck pillow)
On one hand: the Undead Merchant in Demon Souls who says "I'll be here as long as you need me" and leaves in eight seconds; On the other: Kallé who says he's nomadic and proceeds to sit at his bonefire for all eternity.
25:27 "So do you just stand out here and say this to everyone who comes out?" I've seen a lot of headcanons for Soulsborne characters that make me laugh because of how stupid they are, but this made me laugh for a good minute. Marvelously done Jacob.
jason: WHY DONT YOU CARE ABOUT THE SANCTITY OF OUR MARRIAGE julie: hehe… i was postin’ a picture of olive cats are more important than marriage folks you heard it here first
I had to put down my 14yo cat the other day, I've had her since I was 8... I'm 22 now and to say I'm devastated would be an understatement. But SSS and Drawfee content has been bringing me a little joy (pun intended) and happiness in these rough times. Thank y'all so much, for being so delightfully stupid (in a silly way) and for building such an awesome, supportive community. ❤
I was confused for a moment thinking orange cat was a new Purrducer cuz my brain was like " neither of the two current cats are orange." But now I see. Adorable.
Julia and I are two peas in a pod, in that we both exclusively remember that lady’s storyline. Well hers and Blaidd’s but hes a hot wolf nan so thats kind of a given
Every single english first language streamer i watched play Elden Ring snickered at 'mad taint' from the intro cinematic. From grown men in their 40s to functionally teenagers 20 somethings.
Thank you again for uploading these and for all the work you put in Khaz!! As someone who absolutely hates using twitch because I'm an old curmudgeon who hates learning new tech I've really enjoyed being able to watch all the SSS streams
Back here rewatching these and also wanna tell you this has tainted the whole thing for me lmao- forever unable to read it without hearing a very polite Minnesotan or Canadian looking over my shoulder
The eye tree behind D after killing the tibia mariner is because that village is influenced by deathroot which is associated with Godwyn. Things associated with Godwyn get weird eyes and faces growing all over them mimicking his own weird face and eyes. Since you guys are doing all the npc quests I assume you’ll work with Fia and meet him eventually
23:16 i was literally thinking of the beginning of obvlivion the entire time jacob was talking about the view composition so julia saying it immediately is wild lol
Know who worked on this game? George R. R. Martin. *All* the characters starting with his initials? *Not* a coincidence. And we thought the *Targaryen* Dynasty had bad naming conventions...
hey Jacob, don’t know if you knew already but you can get extra cheese with that dragon. The second you kill him and see his tail twitch you run back to the grace in front of the lil’ castle & rest at it. (You have about 3-4 seconds) You’ll get about 2/3rds of the runes but he will respawn! super handy if you want more early levels or to use to buy spells :)
They didn't want to become one with the spider, they sacrificed themselves to try and make a safe path through for the lady in the red cloak However they failed splendidly, and was then grafted. She was scared of that happening so instead of continuing with the journey that they all came here for she fled I do think that was the right choice for her because she wouldn't have survived. It does make their journey and the sacrifice of her companions a bit worthless
I like to think that without her companions, she wouldn't have gotten that far and met the Tarnished. She goes on to become a really talented craftsman and gets a dad! That's nice!
@@Bokatisha1234 oh yeah, I think how things go for her aren't so bad, it's nice that she develops a talent that she didn't know she had, and develops a bond As far as the worthless bit goes, it's just in regards to the original motivation. It's clear the people she came with were very willing to lay down their lives to protec, but alas, they couldn't attack
I wanted to use this series as a guide to playing just for fun and I messed up 3 hours into my run haha. Jacob said he waited for the dragon to die then he ate, so I was confident I could execute it just as well. Ending up fudging it and forgot the button to consume it -_- now I’m restarting just so I can execute it right this time lmaoooo
since you guys started talking about meats and fruits I have to champion having homemade apple-cranberry sauce with chicken fingers, or nuggets, or tenders. its literal perfection. but you need the apple and the cranberry together.
@@DragonbIaze052 I kinda just throw things together in a pot til it tastes good. but you really just need cranberries, apples, some sugar, and some water (or orange juice or apple juice could be good too), and cook it all together til its a sauce. If you use dried cranberries you need to soak them in water first, but they can work almost as well as fresh cranberries.
1:11:04 If you watch Zullie the Witch or any other channel that mods and hacks Fromsoft games that go deeper into the lore, there is a theory that when Godwyn was murdered, his soul perished but his body didn't, and now his corpse grows all throughout the lands of Elden Ring like a cancer, which is what the Death Root might actually might be. So those big eyes on that tree might actually be a bit of Godwyn's corpse, spreading death everywhere.
Looking forward to the full playthrough! I love watching them play these games. Also if anyone is interested in small videos about some hidden lore details of the games in like the models and code and stuff I highly recommend the channel Zullie the Witch, it’s really piqued my interest in the game and might provide fun companion knowledge while watching these
When this game came out it was my first souls game and I had issues. After watching this episode/stream(and tuned in live for most if not all of it), I gave it another chance. A year later, I have put well over a thousand hours in the Base game and DLC and still mess around in it just for fun.
The urge to comment with 'EYO SPEED RUNNA' is strong. But, this was a super good stream in general. Many good feels, quality bants, adorable cats. Made my morning rigamarole far more tolerable.
Oops. I left the stream because I didn’t know anything about the game, and I left before Jacob explained it. So I watched cute VODs. I deftly avoided spoilers for Elden Ring, but at this point, I’m just going to play it in a year for fun while knowing the plot.
Watching this again well into episode 20 or so of this series. Its so fun and also depressing to see how and where the carakters' stories begin. I forgot that Boc starts out as bush. Its so stupid its actualy genius.
“Melina” being pronounced the same as as “melena,” which is when someone has gnarly bloody stools from an upper GI tract bleed, has me laughing every time someone says her name, lol.
When you’re going in Fort Faroth after the dragon cheese, if you hit the wall a few times at the bottom of the stairs, the chanting dames that poison you will have moved to the wall and your path will be easier. Not that you struggled. lol
The problem with the silent hill 2 remake isn’t necessarily that it’s not perfect, it’s that we’ve already had two awful rereleases of a game that is incredibly emotionally important to people. I actually think just a clean rerelease with a fog fix would be received really well. But the previous rereleases either replaced the voice acting (replaced is a strong word since they just turned the audio down on the cutscenes down and dubbed over the existing voice acting) which is incredibly important to the game or had completely busted fog which makes the game look terrible and actively ruins the atmosphere as well as revealing things that aren’t meant to be seen through the dense fog. I agree that some silent hill fans are overprotective of the series, but in the case of SH2 I think they have a right to be. Konami has proven twice that they are not above using the game as a quick cash grab. That and abandoning Silent Hills after assembling the dream team and said team proving themselves with P.T. lead to, what I think, is a healthy amount of skepticism. Konami earned themselves a lot of ill will and they’re going to have to prove that, as a company, they are willing to let their devs actually create something of value with minimal corporate meddling.
Oh no now I don't have to shout "froyo SL*T" at the screen anymore (like any normal person would) Didn't think I would see that plotline resolve so quickly
22:17 Julia’s basically describing that Brighton player after scoring a bicycle against Chelsea ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1VRzYDQX_iw.html
Did anyone ever question who the Narrator is supposed to be in terms of a person in the Elden Ring world? Would be interesting to see what people think...
