I remember my 7th grade public school teacher, in Arlington, Texas, talking to me about something I did that she felt was inappropriate. She had seen me the day before walking home in the rain, and my friend and I were having fun signaling to passing cars to splash us along the sidewalk. She felt it was inappropriate because I was wearing a white shirt at the time. It never entered my mind that this would be perceived as sexual but I felt so embarrassed and dirty when she had that talk with me. She seemed upset but I now think it was really inappropriate for her to have drawn that conclusion and imposed her adult perspective onto me innocently playing in water with my friend.

I left the faith recently. Hearing the exposed toe story reminded me how 2 yrs ago I attended a friend's church. His gf wore shorts to church. My friend's mom was so upset about it that she refused to sit in the same pew, let alone sanctuary. His mom threw a pitty party and sat in the foyer for the entire service, to disassociate with his gf.

13:00 (until a few minutes after that) I relate a lot to the way you experience sexuality. I’m eighteen and my friends are mostly girls, when people ask me ‘smash or pass’ I look at them awkwardly. It’s very comforting to know other guys experience this too bc idk I feel like a bit of a mistake sometimes. I don’t look at people I don’t know in a sexual way like ever, people are always potential friends, not potential partners. I now call myself asexual just to not have to explain myself so often, but that’s not right either. I do hope to have a spouse one day, and seeing someone experience this in the same way I do is really nice. Kind of feels like a stone lifted off my chest.

As someone who also grew up as an MK in tropical environments and Christian international schools, hearing Taylor talk about her experience makes me feel so seen. Also sucks that some things like purity culture seem so consistent across those communities.

The "god fearing" makeup on Drew didn't look too bad, maybe the lipstick was a bit much, but not that it's bad. The corpse paint however, was badass.

I remember when I was staying in a young Christian girls hostel and I was making a phone call and my feet were up on the wall while I laid on my back. It was comfortable and I was very engrossed in the call n I was quickly accused of flirting and being suggestive as one of the other girls had her “boyfriend” visiting and was walking past. Another day I was accused of not wearing a bra was a stumbling block to everyone in church. I was AA cups and literally didn’t have one in my size. I wore ill fitting bras for years after that. As a proud atheist now I refuse to wear a bra and I don’t care what anyone says. Make up looks lovely Drew

If you want to keep facial hair/enhance its appearance for a makeup look, using hair oil* on the beard/mustache will help dissolve the makeup on the hair itself while still keeping the rest of the makeup around and under it. This should likely work with any sort of oil that can dissolve makeup, bonus that it helps condition the facial hair too. Learned this trick from a video from Adam Lambert.
