I know the struggle. I've been doing my hair since I was like 14 and I've gotten so better at it but when I rush they don't come out right but when I take my time it comes out very neat . Takes me like two days to get done with my hair which I why I wait till the weekend

I Love it. I think all black girls should learn how to do their own box braids. It saves so much money and you will get better with time. And you could even make money by doing it for a friend! PLUS, you know your scalp/hair better than anyone, so braid according to the type of tension you can handle!! It's just a necessity in my eyes lol

No in Africa it's actually cheaper to do em yourself as well, like 4$ is the cost of cheap tacky braid 💀💀7-8$ is good braid , then the hairstylist charge 25$ + depends of length the longer more expensive cause time is money and it's a skill to braid , not everyone can braid so neatly or nicely, like she said she doesn't LOVEEE her braids probably cause their not as neatly done and will probably not last long but that's how it is when you do em for the first time yourself, practice makes perfect & she will get there if she keeps trying but she looks good😻

You can blow dry the bottom of your braids it works 100% but some people flat iron them tho. Make sure you don’t burn the hair tho lol

I like them. One hack I’ve other people do is use a gel or hair snot on their natural strand so nothing sticks out and theirs no fly always. This video was great. I too am trying to learn to do my own box braid. I’m gonna continue practicing with no extensions before moving to the next level

I didnt even learn how the 3 legged method from a box braid tutorial video lol. The find guru was doing faux locs and she braided her hair before and gave like a 20 second explanation on brading bix braids in, and from there I just did my box braids like that. Now we have a name for it lol ."3 legged method". Before that video I thought box braids were complicated because if the way my mom used to do it with like over lapping the hair and stuff

Your natural hair is the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen. Braids look great though. I wish my hair organized itself into little squares on my scalp, its so cool. Alas, I have straight boring hair. Guess we always want the things we don't have.
