I'm two months into a 2000 pieces puzzle with a watefall on it, all i see is white and blue, im slowly going insane, this puzzle will get to me before quarantine does. Respect that you can do this 5K gradient puzzle. Absolutely madlad
Also a heating pad helps for long puzzle sections. I have chronic pain, and without heating pads, regular stretching, and either a back brace or short corset on the really bad days, I’d not be able to do this at all! But it’s really good distraction when I’m hurting, helps me kind of... keep my pain just in one corner of my mind, boxed up, while I do other stuff. It keeps my hands busy while a phone call or an audiobook keeps my mind busy. Best of both worlds. 😊
@@SunflowerSpotlight Similar boat. I also play with several different puzzle apps on my iPad when I'm stuck in bed or my good chair, and can't do much other than watch TV or listen to audiobooks/podcasts. It occupies the part of my brain that gets distracted by pain and wanders, which helps to both "feel past the pain", and pay better attention to the TV/audio. Sometimes I wish I could puzzle while I read, LOL.
When she started talking about inches, my metric system brain just turned off. Americans are crazy with theirs inches, feet, yards, Fahrenheit degrees and other stuff...
@SprinklesCakebottom you CAN remember how to convert feet to inches and how long it is, but you CAN'T remember that 100 centimetres is one meter, and 1000 meters is one km? Bruh
we use metric system in US school but in any other scenario we use the (inches, feet, fahrenheit) its really strange. sometime i wish we used metric system all the time in US
I attempted a puzzle that big. It is a picture of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. So much white and grey... It took up my dining room table for weeks until I finally gave up. Maybe someday I'll try again. But then again, it might be more fun to do a color wheel puzzle.
@@KarenPuzzles Like running a marathon I guess. I imagine powering through it so quickly doesn't help, and I think you may have mentioned that at one point. The things you do for your loyal community!
Karen i noticed something: When you pointed out that there is a new version of the puzzle i checked the website and im 100% sure that the new version is manufactured by Ravensburger! I even compared the picture of the stamping pattern to one of my Ravensburger 5000 piece puzzels and its the same!!!
@@idkidkidkidkidkid thanks!! I've heard of vr and I've heard of puzzles but I've never heard of a VR puzzle. I'm 21 and now I'm feeling old, I have to watch a video about it^^
yeah puzzling is not for everyone. it's quite a mundane activity so it's a better medium for meditation and satisfaction than for actual genuine interesting "entertainment".
Color wheel! Girl you have really gotten me back into puzzles. I haven't done them much since my dad passed as he was my puzzling partner. One thing I am struggling with is the pieces not fitting in the correct spots. I am sure some of these old and cheaper puzzles I have just aren't cut properly so I'm having a hard time, but il going to practice my patience and continue with them!
find your audience n make content for them. you're the perfect example of that. I discovered your page because i ordered a 1000 piece puzzle and i never did a puzzle before and feel a bit nervous.
Thanks god you find the missing piece! It is a bad feeling even at 1000 piece. Can't imagine how this would feel at a puzzle like this! But it has to be a great feeling doing and finished it after such a long time laying in the shelf. It looks amazing!
Hi Karen! This is Mintyfizz puzzles. Color wheel To answer you questions, all those issues you talked about were corrected in the new version. The puzzle is identical to Ravensburger quality. So less shinny but the pieces don’t lock together well. I really liked the new version. I think it was amazing. But yeah, that dark section is still a beast. Well done!
Mine is new size too ( don't know which vers.) Still manufactured in two halves, though (split line down the middle.) I've got split cardboard on a few of the pieces (that's less than 1%, not too bad). The dark section ... difficult under daylight. Nigh impossible under a lamp.
Last month i watched your vids just for tips to do my jigsaw puzzle that I'd been trying to get done for 2 years. It was a landscape 1000 pieces puzzle and after watching your vids I got motivated and finished it in 2 weeks! This might be unrelated to this vid but i just want to share this with you. You're incredible, keep the great work ☺️
I would love to tackle a 5,000pc puzzle, but the largest puzzles I’ve been able to do are some 2,000pc ones due to space and cost! I just recently splurged on a 3,000pc puzzle which I can’t wait to do this summer! Congrats on completing this 5,000pc challenge: the result is beautiful, like a color wheel!
I was never interested in puzzles. I've never watched a video about puzzles. Today this ends up in my recommendations. I clicked, looked and liked it. Nobody can understand the ways of the algorithm gods, but they sure lead you to good entertainment
If you were to do the new version of the 5000, maybe you could do it off-camera to save your sanity. And stretch it over 4-5 weeks, doing different parts of the color wheel each week, storing upright in those big Ziploc bags and foamcore.
color wheel i just ordered my first 2000 piece puzzle after i finished a 1000 piece puzzle in less than 24 hours when im doing puzzles i love watching ur videos it always keeps me motivated ty for everything u do and keep puzzling!
I really enjoy Wasgij puzzles, it’s a puzzle that puts a picture on the box as a ‘clue’ to what the puzzle is. Like one was an old airport with an old car and the puzzle was a modern airport with parking and a nice new car. That’s why is called Wasgij cus it’s a backwards buzzle
Hi Karen, I am currently sick at home and trying to get healthy and gain more energy to be able to attend work soon again. Doing regular tasks at home is very exhausting for me and I struggle with them for days or weeks until I finally can manage to do them. I just took your video to let it run in the background while I did a task, I struggled with for like a month now. It is now complete and I feel better. Thank you for your calm and relaxing videos, your pleasant voice and your great content.
It’s just unfathomable for me to 1) buy a puzzle that cost that much money and 2) to do that puzzle I believe as a impatient 25 yr old I will never be able to complete a 1000+ gradient puzzle I would go insane it’s AMAZING how dedicated u are great video👍🏼
Dear Karen I bought the 42,000 puzzle named Around the World. I love this long term plan, I finished today the first bag of 6,000 pieces and so happy as you were when finished the gradient puzzle. I still have 6 bags more but really happy to continue. My problem is the space. I took some ideas from your video but need more ways to plan a huge puzzle as this one. Any suggestions are welcome. Congrats on your work
My six year old daughter and I love watching your videos, she is an amateur puzzler and even had to try doing one with her feet as well! We love how this puzzle encapsulates all of the colors on a color wheel. Big fans from northern Wisconsin, I've been watching your crafting channel for years before recently finding this channel after your recent video you posted over there. Thanks for the entertainment and fun Harry Potter crafts.
Loved your color wheel puzzle video! No room to work such a large one, so it was fun to see you work your way through it. Love your honest comments and all the hints. Thanks for making me smile Karen! 😊
I came for the satisfaction of putting a puzzle together but I'm really impressed by the way you reviewed it based on how the puzzle was manufactured.. great quality content
Color wheel :) I've been working on a 5000 piece puzzle since the start of lockdown. It's a cartoon from Jan Van Haasteren (Dutch puzzle brand). Definitely the most difficult puzzle I've ever done, but now that I can't have people over, it's the only time it can take up this much floor space without bothering me too much. I hope to be done in a couple of days (not of continuous work) but it's really really hard :)
A gradient puzzle seems like the perfect share puzzle your whole family can pick a colour to do then piece it together at the end. I’ve loved puzzles since I was little but I don’t think I could conquer 5000 pieces.
Just discovered this channel via a shoutout from another RU-vidr whose mathematical interests temporarily intersected with jigsaw puzzles. I had no idea there was an entire corner of the internet dedicated to jigsaw puzzles--but it's a wholesome activity, so I'm a fan!
Going to try a smaller gradient before attempting a 5000 piece puzzle. Looking forward to seeing you hang it. Love to learn how....watched entire video. color wheel.
I love it My daughter have doing puzzles since she was 2 Now she does the 100 pieces She just ordered her first 500 piece....stranger things💜i love watching
I have the same version of this, but I think its a 2nd print, but still have the one line problem thing in the middle. And I fully agree, to hang this on a wall. This puzzle is the best looking thing in our apartment! :) (color wheel btw)
What a beast! I've done a lot of studying of the colour wheel, and I'm not sure I could tackle this one! Though, all this free time recently has me thinking about puzzling again. I used to do 1/mo back when I was in school.
Color Wheel I am a terrible puzzler and watch your videos trying to get better. I aways watch your videos from start to finish. I just completed a 3000 piece puzzle called Sunset In Paris. I have 5000 piece puzzle called The Mediterranean Harbour waiting. That puzzle will take me over a year but I’m trying. I’ll be watching more videos and trying to learn. Thanks for teaching.
12:53 I had the same issue with a beautiful 750 piece (I’m new, so that scary big for me 🙃) with six illustrated roses of various colors. Only about 50 pieces per rose blossom, but sometimes I got SO stuck. The light pink, peach, and yellow had some overlap that was hard to figure out. But even on the white and dark wine red, I sometimes had periods of time where... I just couldn’t... I knew I had all the pieces (that were available, anyway) and kept getting stumped. I guess that’s the risk with partially a color wheel puzzle. Still I see why this is addictive. When you pick up pieces and know where they go and immediately lay them down, click them in. So satisfying!
I would like to see you do the newer version for the comparison, I love positive comparisons between puzzles. Also, my curiosity is really hoping you reveal the new puzzle! I can't do large puzzles, but it was interesting watching you tackle it, I'd be on board to see you do more! :)
Omg I thought it is a small puzzle but when you kept it down it was sooooo big . You spent days to do it . You are really good at it . So amazing . I am still shocked that you did it.
This is insane!!! I have so much admiration for you, and anyone else who tackles this. I never do puzzles larger than 1000 pieces and many of them take me as long as it took you to do this. I commented previously (here or instagram, I don't remember which), that I wasn't sure how I felt about tackling a gradient puzzle. Since then I've remembered that I actually have one I was given last year. I think it's 1000 pieces. Maybe that will have to be my next lockdown challenge, once I've finished the Disney one I'm working on.
Color wheel. Thank you for doing this: I like watching you puzzle because it's relaxing. I don't give myself much time to puzzle: but I can do homework or do dishes and wind down for the day to videos like this.
i started my first puzzle today since i was probably like…. 5. I spent 3 hours on it (750 pieces) and got most of the border done! thank you for inspiring me to get into puzzles 💖
Hi Karen! Firstly, I really enjoy watching your videos. I've never tried a colour wheel type puzzle, but your persistence and eventual success with this one has inspired me to go back and try to complete my map of the London Underground. The background is totally uniform white, so you have only the shapes of the pieces to go by. Those are the only pieces I have left in the puzzle, and I put it aside some months ago. I have 3 others on the go at the moment too!
Don't know much about COLOR WHEELs or theory, but I must admit this is a pretty puzzle. I've got a 5000 piece puzzle already completed and was thinking about hanging it up; I'll be looking for your follow-up video about how you did it.
Color Wheel....I just recently discovered your channel and subscribed. I'm totally obsessed!!! I so don't need another hobby but I think I'm going to pull down an old puzzle from my closet and give it a whirl. Something very nostalgic about doing puzzles. I enjoy your videos alot. Keep us posted on the 24,000 piece monster!!
YOU-ARE-SO-SOO-SOOOOOOOO-CRAZY. I'm 13 years old and I have solved 6 puzzles of 1000 pieces. I'm italian, therefore , Sorry if some words are not correct...😅
Beautiful puzzle! You are a trooper for continuing on despite the back pain. Colour wheel - spelled the Canadian and Australian way :) I love the dimensions of that earlier version.
@@KarenPuzzles I have taken over over half our "breakfast bar" (but we use it for most meals) for 1500 pc puzzle Divided Town by Ravensburger. So my husband, our 3 youngest children and myself all eat squished together at the end of the counter. But I find counter height better for my back so my family puts up with it.
As an older lady in a small apartment, my color wheel will not be rolling through this puzzle. These are serious puzzle-y times, thanks for the experience.
Maybe you can buy the newest version of this puzzle and see if the newer version is easier..? Or just see if the colour gradient are more noticeable and the cuts are better..
I still can't figure out how amazing you are at doing this!!! I can not even do a large puzzle but I got an amazing 1000 piece one! Well done Karen :) 💫🌟❤
I have once attempted a 5000 piece puzzle (Call of the sea by Josephine Wall) it's about a third done and is boxed up for 10 years already. maybe I should finish it. But, no I would not do it again, even if it is a big beautiful coulerwheel.
Girl, i have no idea how you had the patience to do this! That color wheel is just enough to make my eyes cross. The biggest i've done is a 1000 piece puzzle and I've had to take a break and do some easier 550 White Mountain puzzles. Their pieces are a little bit bigger as well. Great job on this accomplishment!!!!!
Clicked as soon as I saw!! The puzzle is so pretty 😍 But it'll be a trainwreck for me and my bad eyesight and color match (5000 pieces holy moly) so I'm happy to see you finish it instead!
