Dollar Store Haul | Teacher Vlog 

I start my freshmen year of college the 28th to begin my degree in Elementary Education! I spent two years in a kindergarten and head start classroom as some sort of an assistance and I am 99.99% sure kinder is for me, and watching these sort of videos make me even more excited than I already am! 😍😁

At our church in our kids room we got a huge piece of sheet metal and it works great as a magnetic board and its a lot larger and much cheaper. You can also get it cut to the sizes you want. We love it and it works so great for posting information, leaving encouraging notes, displaying artwork, etc. Such a greener, cleaner, and easier way of doing so many things in the classroom. Not to mention the kids are drawn to it, we've even had kids who say my parents don't hang anything of mine on the fridge at home they just throw everything away, so when they see there work displayed it makes them feel so welcomed and loved. Its a great tool!

Those bins can also be used for small group journals with all the different colors ..I love you and the dollar store !!... the magnetic images can also be used to display messages and words home !

We start school in mid-August, and I start setting up the beginning of August. But before that, I've worked on curriculum, attended a workshop, read some books, etc.

If you do Mystery walker in your classroom you could put their stones or chips in the circle bin on the back of the door so that its ready to go when you need to pick your mystery walker :) If you aren't sure what Mystery walkers are you either write numbers on poker chips or the pebble stones and have the students each have their own number based off of the order on the class roster. You don't tell the students who the mystery walker is you hide the chip in your pocket and you keep a special eye on that student. If the student did everything right in the hallway you could give them or the class bonus points if you do classroom dojo and you announce to the class that *insert child's name* was the mystery walker and that they did everything right. If they don't do what they are supposed to you would tell the class that the mystery walker didn't do what they were supposed to and weren't the best that they could be. You can also say that you hope that the next mystery walker does better :)

I'm not a teacher, however I'm defiantly loving these videos for ideas for my son! I'm hoping to start the learning soon with him and intend on setting up half his play room for learning!

I have definitely found my new favorite "watch while I work" channel- I'm loving getting to know your classroom style and hear about all of your magnetic stuff and whatnot! I use the teal buckets you got as trash cans on my tables for all the little paper scraps that usually end up on the floor!

I'm a dollar tree junky as well! I love all of their colorful storage baskets and teacher supplies. I always get complements on my decor and when I tell them where I bought it, they're surprised. I just went and bought a whole bunch of stuff too.

Your outfits are so cute!!! I would love to see a teacher fashion video! I teach Kindergarten too, and I'm always looking for cute but practical outfits!

Thanks for sharing, The last baskets you shared with us are great for collect assignments, but I love to put them in my students desk. My classroom has desk with a slot under the top for their material. They become on hot mess with 3rd and 4th graders and it hard to find their things. these letter tray baskets slide in n out nicely and have held up very well.

I use the cute little round magnet containers for a few things. I put the kids photo in the "circle window". We use them for creating graphs on the magnet white board and for grouping or making pairs to work together. I also have a few we use for dice with games. It keeps the pesky dice from rolling across the classroom! Thanks for the great ideas!

Teachers go back Aug. 7 and students start the 21st. :) We get out around May 25th.

I love Dollar Tree!! Here in PA mine is 30mins away and quite small! Mine has mostly red, green, and pink right now. I'm doing a Tiffany blue, grey, and black because big lots had those colors cheap. Best thing to do is by spray paint in your class colors and paint the red ones that do not go with your decor! AND I never have enough magnetic clips for my blackboards!

I work at a private Christian school also. We can't get inour classrooms over the summer due to them being used for Vacation Bible School, etc. and our custodian does a major deep cleaning. I usually have the week prior to us actually having to be back to do my set up. It is sooo much work, mostly because we have to completely pack up our classrooms - nothing on walls, nothing on shelves, etc. You are adorable and full of so much energy and love.

I don't teach but I have to go to school, and learn sadly :( I go back to school August 10th and I usually start getting all my supplies like the first week before school starts back. I go back in less than 2 weeks, and still haven't gotten my stuff. I have to wear uniforms at my school. I'm NOT excited for school, but I'm most excited to see my friends, and because this is my last year in middle school!!! I also want to be a teacher when I'm older. I've always wanted to, but then I think about other jobs I might want. I still have years and years to think about that, lol!

Ok, I also have the dry erase dice and I recommend using a Vis-a-vis marker on them because the dry erase rubs off super easy when you roll. I used them for a bunch of things and the kids love them.

I officially start this week! The kids start August 21st. I love the sand timers! Getting them for $1 is awesome! I have 1 minute timers and my kids use them in stations. For example they could read as many sight words as possible in 1 minute. The children really get in to it and think it's a racing game, but they are practicing and improving! 🤓

If you like the $ store concept, try Daiso. It's the Japanese equivalent. Prices are just a little higher. Very cute stuff though.

In May, I start making lists of what worked, what didn't, what I want to change... During the summer, ai work and take classes so I prep my classroom as a fun activity to break up the work.

The little green cups that you have I bought last yer and used them for snack cups..we rinsed them out but it helped saved paper products

I saw on another blog where a teacher took those two drawer containers and glued them together to make a teacher toolbox. It turned out really cute and functional

Even though I'm not a teacher, I am really enjoying these videos! I have a 1 year old and a 4 year old and I love watching these to get ideas for our little learning center we've set up in our home. Our 4 year old is starting his second year of pre-k soon and this video has given me some ideas for not only our learning area at home, but also some gifts for his teachers!

I use the little drawers for stamps and ink. I put ink in the top and alphabet stamps in the bottom. It helps keep the sets together. :)

I just bought a bunch of those dry erase pockets at Target for $1.00 each. In the past, I've used page protectors, but they tend to be a little flimsy. What a great way to use those card holders as stands for tablets! My district is on its way to be a one to one district so I'll keep those in mind.

I use the round, magnetic, metal container that you are using for marbles for collecting the box tops that students bring in for our school. 😊

I bought those magnetic clips and the magnets come out really quickly so keep a hot glue gun around to glue them back together. Great haul! I just did a haul but I think I'm going to have to go back out and look again

I will be done with my K-8 Education Bachelor's degree next year, and hopefully will be start teaching in the fall of 2018! I have already bought things from Target, and your classroom is all the colors I want to use! I have been picking bright colors and apples/pencils. I cannot wait to actually use them. :)

The floor tape is for teaching measurement. Use different lengths of tape on the floor so that becomes a math center.

This is probably a little late since you uploaded this a month ago, but when I saw the green cups I thought it would be nice to use for paint if you ever use paint in your classroom!

You can spray paint the plastic bins to match your classroom with spray paint for plastic.

I usually about 2 weeks prior to school starting. This year I moved districts and grades, so I have been working all summer!

We don't get to leave our rooms set up because our floors are waxed every year. About a week before teacher inservice is when teachers are allowed back in classrooms

I think you should use the plastic drawers for putting crayons (like you said ) but you could put them on there tables and when ever they need crayons the could get them from their table and not walk around the classroom 😊
