Is dollar tree wild flower mix with the hype ? Growing flower from seeds can be fun and relaxing ! We grow it on Arizona native soil, with a little bit of mulch on top, and end result was satisfying!

i went to the dollar store and spent $14, some packets are "4 for a dollar" and some are "$1.75" for the big ones like youre holding. i have about 36 packets total for $14 and they're all doing wonderful work. they are real! they grow!

my fav part of wildflower seeds from the dollar: toss them on the ground and then spray a heavy rain mist of water over them to sink them into the mud. then they grow themselves! no burying needed, no special anything, just toss them right onto the surface. no need to hoe nor plow!

I was wondering if tossing and spraying was all I needed to do! thanks for this! ❤

so, kind friend, the reason only 50% bloomed is because if you read the back of the packet, it says 50% is seeds and 50% is "inert matter".. so you get 100% of half the packet! haha

it broke my heart to hear you are colorblind, what horrid irony to plant wonderful colors and then be unable to see them!! i hope you can get those special sunglasses to show you the colors

I am partially color blind, so i can tell the difference between yellow and blue, but can’t tell the difference between purple and blue. lol My kids tell me the color for me. And hummingbirds love these flowers… such a joy.

Those look like the wildflowers I sowed in my backyard. But I payed $20 at my local nursery. Good to know I can go to the dollar store.

My DollarTree seeds have been decent but I don't baby them so sometimes doesn't work out. This year I am soaking some seeds (sunflower, bean, pea, morning glory, etc.) to help them start so hopefully I get a lot more this time.

For sure they have their own mind, this year didn’t pop flowers as much as they did last year. Soaking is a good idea.

im currently growing them all in williamson county texas on local dirt i pulled from a hole i made. they are all 2 inches tall so far, or 5 cm. i have them in a greenhouse and spread wild across a 20x20 foot area of flat dirt i hand dug. i will compare greenhouse sprouts to the yard ones over time :)

Is the dirt over there clay soil as well? We have packed clay native soil, and gardening is not easy. But these wildflowers do well.

are they able to just be thrown in the yard and they grow on their own? i have a big boring lawn i just wanna spread the seeds everywhere with like 10 boxes and have some color.
@MYDREAMGREENVILLA

I just threw seeds, and sprinkled some soil over, but not a lot of soil. Let me know if they do well!

so the science names. if you have 20 names, each one is five percent of the total mix. unless some are 6% or 8% which it says. so half the packet is chaff, the other half is seeds, and of that seed half it is divided 20 times :) 5% aster 5% poppy 5% bee balm 5% coreopsis and so on :)

Do you have to bury them? My kids and I just put a bunch of these seeds around our retention ponds in our neighborhood. We are hoping to attract something other than mosquitoes to the area. Lol

I sprinkle them directly on soil, and sprinkle mulch little bit, but I don’t dig up soil. Of course depends on the soil you have, we have hard clay soil in Arizona
