Just think what the world would be like if Dolly hadn't wrote this song to tell Porter Wagoner were done here. Dolly is really something special. One of a kind.

Dolly Parton will always do what is called SINGING. HEY YOU SING My Heroine. What I like about Dolly is that I knew her from my youth in the 1970s I was in my 16yrs in a senior secondary school. I use to sing her songs in our social gatherings, songs like it's too late, just because I am a woman etc, I will always love u My legend, I've millions of your songs in my phone, plus keep on living may God bless you

Hi Ms. Dolly Parton I’m just a Black Country girl from Sparta Georgia loving all your music you r Truely a icon god bless you Angel May many more days and blessings come to you Ms.Parton !!Love you!!!😍😍😍🥰🥰🙂🙂🙂🙂
Sitting here with the Vince Gill CD Souvenirs playing in the player, I'm old school, 800 cds and counting, downsize my arse. Never looked at the play list, I have all the Vince Gill cds, this isn't on them, 99p UK money, this one song is worth the entrance fee right there, got Reba thrown in, what's not to like. ❤❤
WOW this song never sounded so beautiful and real before. LOVE IT!! Whitney Houston sang this song like she were driving a mack truck or bulldozer... bombastic. Dolly and Vince were sooo emotive and sweet and wonderful. Love this song now!
Whitney's version was oversung, overplayed, overemphatic, & seemed demanding. Dolly and Vince - along or together - come at it from a more humble place, which is why I'll only listen to their versions. When The Bodyguard came out, my daughter had just been born. If that commercial came on, she'd begin crying and it would be a long time before she'd calm down again. To this day, she hates hearing Whitney's version.
I've shared this beautiful dance with my love who has my ❤️ We are miles apart and a province away from each other. He's not my man, but will always be my love ❤
Nothing other than WOW amazing singing. If ever going to be on the ground Ole Opera please post it in advance so I can get there for it from North Dakota but will fly there been there two times and would definitely go back for you two performers. Thank you in advance.
Your comment is so emotional . I hope your wish come to pass❤🥰 you can send me a message through my Gmail vincegill4242@gmail.com I promise to give responses back. I guess it's a little way of showing my fans appreciation❤️ i am available for meet and greet.
One of my favorite Dolly's songs! I love this! Dolly is and has been wonderful for years! Vince is a wonderful singer all by himself, but together they are amazing!
That has to be the hardest decision you ever had to make.. But, I'm glad you gave him a good life.. I'm currently pregnant and I thought of adoption at first but just couldn't do it...
There are SO MANY versions of this song, it's nice to see a duet, especially with Vince starting. The harmony is beautiful and giving me chills. I really like this. Thanks for posting.
Wow, that really took my breath away. So nice to see Dolly stick has the pipes at almost 70 years old!! When I was a kid this song was so immensely popular, and Dolly Parton such a stellar force I never dreamed that one day younger people might think of someone else altogether (Houston) when they hear this lovely tearjerker (!) Meanwhile I'm a big fan of Vince Gill's playing skills, I had no idea however he had such an impressive vocal range. Thanks for posting this!
And what's sad is that the younger people of today say "this is Whitney's song". I don't mind putting them in their place because it's Dolly's song. It's just that Whitney recorded it at least 20 years later and people fell in love with it all over again.
No one can sing Dolly's songs like she does! Vince Gill and Dolly singing this particular song together is my idea of perfection! imagrammy and I think Vince is hot ! Dolly will always be the country queen to me !
You can understand why Vince has been in a high demand for duet for instrumental and vocal. It was to Dolly's credit to chose Vince as the duet partner for her experiment after this song was sung for so many years. As you noticed Vince has the skill to compliment the duet partner. He watches every duet partner very closely to create the harmony and bring out the best of the song with Streisand, Loretta L., Reba, Amy, Underwood, and as recently as Kelly C. to list a few. I never liked this song before because to me it was too whyny with the type of Dolly's voice added but I love this song as a duet with Vince. Dolly is wonderful but Vince really set this song the way it really should be. Duet made this song came alive.
Love this song! Everyone brags about Whitney's version, but she got it from the one and only Dolly! No one does this song better than her! Love the duet! Dolly has such a way with this song because it's HER song, not Whitney's.

I love this song and have a lot of respect for Dolly. I can't think of a female artist in any genre that was as good in all areas from writing, singing, performing, everything and the years she was able to do it . I can of several that were great writers and singers and performers but none that could do it all as good as Dolly. like this song she wrote for Porter Wagner when she was leaving his show. He got her noticed, but to be honored by a song like that is priceless. went to number 1 twice. she stands alone in having a song to to #1 twice by same artist then Whitney Houston took it to number 1 too. This is the first time I've heard a man sing it and VICE GILL DID GREAT.
I"m from an Asian country which doesn't have Country Music. I grew up with Pop and Ballad and all the "Birit" songs, but this is AWESOME!!! I think growing up with this kind of music is a perfect childhood!
To me Dolly's voice is like silk. Like a hot knife thru butter. Effortlessly perfect. And Vince Gill has a voice that he can sing with anybody and it works.
This was the song I gave to my hubby because I was going to leave him, before we were married, I only had one love which was my son, but I couldn’t leave him! We married and we been married now for 42 yrs
Oh he's such a cute little creature. I could eat him for breakfast. And as for Dolly, well it's easy to see why she is regarded as the greatest singer ever to have graced the earth.
