Hi all, Before you shower hate on this video, I need to tell that, I am totally honest with the things I told in the video. Never wanted to bad mouth any brand or motorcycle. I love this motorcycle very much, accepting the cons which it has. Good Luck all. Ride safe. You can watch the rest of the videos on Dominar, here : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t4PdWHRwP10.html
Hi Strell, I wanted to upgrade from my 150 cc bike to a bigger one. I am confused between Duke 250 and Dominar 400. Which one do you suggest. I am a tall rider. Will be mostly riding in the city for work and plan to do some touring. Thank you.
Nithish. V bro I would suggest you to go for duke250 ...... for you height ..... I am 5'10" and I enjoy riding duke than dominar ..... and also power 💓
Vibrations ? There is a fix for this, you have to tighten the screws of the tank cover after every 4-5k kms. Use extra sponge while fixing the tank and fix it tightly. Do check your screws of extensions under the pillion seat and also check the corners for any crack or so. They're delicate so they tend to become cracked after a year or so. You can either fibre weld it or get a new panel. Do these and you won't face vibrations anymore.
I own this and between 4k to 6k rpm bike vibrates only slight buzz and after that it slowly reduces.. ride the bike above 110kmph u won't notice major vibrations only little could be feeled .. beyond 120kmph it is absolute pleasure and as u enjoying riding vibrations cannot be noticed.. initially the bikes brake was not so confident after using it for a while the brakes are very confident inspiring and nothing can match the brakes of dominar except KTM.. Ride the bike aggressively it won't get stressed and I covered almost 500km on highway beyond 140kmph without any intervals it's simply awesome.. it's worth every penny and best bike under 2L and better than some of the expensive quarter litre and touring bikes especially mojo and RE's
After 80 kms vibrations stop, you can cruise at 110 to 120 easily, I own one and I love it. Most of the points I agree with him. It’s an amazing motorcycle. City and highways it is a pleasure to ride.
I won a Dominar, yes it vibrates at 5000 rpm if you are riding it at lower gears, but once you shift the gears even at lower speeds it doesn’t vibrate, only thing to keep in mind is gear versus speed. Believe me I drove it every day! It’s awesome motorcycle ..., people who are in confusion, go for it , you will not regret! Ride safe .
I came to see this video after riding a red D400 2018..... I couldn't agree more. Everything to the point. Exactly how I felt too. Thanks bro! This review is genuine to the core 💀
Negligible vibration in my Dominar, 1st model, ABS. Not much heating during summer also. Drove it from Jamshedpur to Agra in August last. Have completed around 10000 kms. Can cruise comfortably at 100/120 kmph. Have achieved 158 kmph many times. Did not opt for ECU update. Happy with the suspension also. I use Motul, which I found to be better than Total. Yup, slipper Clutch, a "must" for bike enthusiasts. Very good buy !!
Debashis Roy use addinol engine oil it's German made not that expensive. I won't recommend motul it's not worth it . Done nearly 20k .. I recommend you go for the 117 ecu update .. it's just too good .. you can do like 58 KMPH on 6th gear . But the top end reduces a little ..( well who needs top end in India) . Better acceleration . I recommend you get the 117 update
My first bike is dominer, previously I was a activa guy..My hight is just 163 and have no issues with my beast.. And belive me frnds u can ride it at city and highway with out any worry about stability or its wight. It can give u a feel of power it has at any speed u are in. Vibration are felt but not so much, use a correct engine oil can give u a sweet ride.. 😍
Hello friend, you have done a great job in reviewing Dominar 400, I really impressed, can you please tell me which bike can i purchase either Avenger 220 cruise or Dominar 400 (which is best?) I am a city rider and touring rarely. Please suggest me.
I am still waiting for your fz s dual disc variant please make video on fz s dual disc as soon as possible , and love you bro . You are doing very well .. keep it up
Overall review is good and thanks for the same. Would like to know whether or not this machine hits the speedbrakers. My city (Thane) is a city of speedbrakers and roads are also bad in all seasons.
About the rattling and vibrating sound i am 100% sure its the rear mud guard on which the no.plate and indicators have placed vibrates when you hit a bad patch because i personally own a 2017 Dominar 400 and since day one i noticed that sound its not at all to be worried about i feel
keeping the vfm apart, I felt RR310 comfortable for touring because of fewer vibrations, refinement and build quality. A beginner person could buy this to start with his/her touring. I suggest investing in Ninja if the person is really on to motorcycles. Because, based on my ride on Ninja(2015), its more track oriented. It fun to ride. And its superly refined compared to the other two.
Tech Prady have seen a RU-vidr i think BBB doing a Bangalore-Mumbai-Bangalore trip on the ninja 300 and he said it's very comfortable and had no butt pain till 1600kms into the ride. Major thing being ninja is very reliable, both for long tours and long life.
I own a Z250 (2013), and was once very impressed with Dominar. Was almost convinced to get it until I test ride it. The vibration is just something I can't get use with, especially when considering touring long distance with it. Dominar is one great bike and honestly, I'll buy this babe if not because it was not available when I first get my z250.
Go for TB 350. Nothing draws the attention than TB. It has better mileage and big tank. This is good for touring purposes. If I were you, I'd go for TB 350. Thanks
Best is always a word which is typically associated with a person 😊. May be I could throw some light to the strong point of the motorcycles. 1. R3 - Good city bike and an amazing tourer 2. Domi - Pocket friendly city bike and tourer 3. Rc390 - Single cylinder missile on track 4. Rr310 - Comfortable sports tourer
I use both autologue and luluvia vaisor ..and it will reduce the wind blast significantly .. go for autologue ..its tall and awesome ..and the MRF provided is crap ..I changed it at 10k km ... To a 180 Bridgestone battilax . Now changed last week to a 190 michellin.Road 4 . Now the stability . breaking . Is just too good . .. yes the turning radius is an issue some times .. but I use domi for mostly for touring .. ... And as I've told .. vibration issue is a simple fix .. using a better engine oil will eliminate 70% of the vibration . Don't go for motul it's not meant for dominar. I recommend you guys get an aftermarket crash protectors because the stock ones are not great .
It's just that ..you can connect to others easily and they are making a big deal about the vibration ..so please make every dominar rider aware that there is a solution
You are correct. Even I am looking to make a different video on that. Meanwhile, if you are from Bangalore and have time for a meet up, just ping me over my instagram or facebook. That will be really helpful. Thanks :)
Hi Strell, I am watching your videos you are information is fantastic, currently I am having RE TB 350 and I am planning to go for Dominar 400 ABS.What is your suggestion. Recently i took a test ride showroom executive said it's 2017 ABS model when i observed in rear brake it is not that effective when compare to front brake. Even that you mentioned in your earlier video, how was in 2018 model is it more effective when compare to older version. Please let me know your comment. Thank you, Goutham
Hi Great detailed review.. everything else I would agree with except the mileage which I observed it to be not more than 24kmpl in city and 28-30kmpl while touring Any suggestions on this??
Hi strell, I know you have owned both CBR 250 and Dominar 400. I thought to buy a new bike. I have 2 choices. CBR 250 and Dominar. Which one I can go for? What's your opinion?
For me the issues i faced is 1.taking u turns is a bit difficult 2.vibrations above 4.5k rpm 3.engine braking is very rough... After 5000rpm if you let go of the throttle the engine braking is bit hard...
Akshay B Tachaparambil bro the bike has slip and assist cluch and you r saying the engine breaking is hard 😂. . The engine breaking is cancelled down due to the slipper clutch ..
govind k lol man...u didnt get what i meant...engine braking is what happens when bike runs in closedor zero throttle... what we do while shifting down is the same scenerio in an extreme way...i am talking about the case when you simply open the trottle up to higher rpm and in the same gear you just let go of the throttle... you will c the bike comes down in rpm very hard...that is because of engine braking(because work is on the gas to compress it)..
You should have said it specifically .. because. .even on hard down shift ..there is no back pull and no wheel hop .. ..due to that the Engine breaking is poor
govind k ya man...its normal to have that pull back at higher rpms but in dominar (may be because my bike is new) you will find it at lower rpms at 4.5k... when it can go as high as 9.5k..
nice edit, I have a Mojo, but hate the breaking and handling of mojo also the fueling is very bad (only best part of Mojo is the superb engine). I am planning to sell the Mojo and buy a dominar. What do you say? ( Dominar is 2L onroad Bangalore when I checked last week bro)
pav_s2003 pavan Hii just a suggestion ,i feel that u should not sell ur Mojo bcz Mojo is a beautiful bike in it self, the head lights look devilish, overall design is very intimidating 21L of tank u get, twin exhaust so its like it has its own unique features, switching to Dominar will only give u better acceleration, top speed and better handling nothing too special as such (myself a Dominar 400 2017 owner) bike is really good value for money but makes no sense to sell a Mojo n buy a Dominar if it was me in yours shoes...
@prashant r they are many simple ways to eliminate those vibrations obviously u can't eliminate the vibrations caused by Engine bt i feel those vibrations are ok nt a big deal
Is it possible to ride at 60 kph at top gear or will the engine knock? Planned to buy a TB350 but not sure about the RE quality. Iam a laid back rider(hates high speed) and upgrading from a CBZ.
How did you find the person to swap those Golden alloys ?? I want to buy dominar but waiting for the 2019 edition which hopefully comes with black alloy wheels.
I had a confusion about the fuel gauge of 2108 model. Older model when all bars are gone there are approx 3 liter of fuel. But in my model the last bar is always there. Pls can someone explain ?
Im 6'4" and like to do a lot of highway touring so size is an issue for me do you think the dominar would be a good bike for me like if i sit on it would it look ok or would the bike look kinda small??
Great review and I really find the video well done. The indepth review and description on experience is very well articulated. I really appreciate your detail description. Subscribe! Keep it up! Greeting from Malaysia! P/S: we recently bring Bajaj into our market and we are having fun. Who would had thought Indian bikes would begin dominate the market here. Hahaha! P/S: want to feel the vibration? Just start the engine and let it idle for a while, Then hang your keys at the handle bar and see your keys sings...
Hi Strell, enjoying your videos alott. Bro can you share any updates on new Dominor 2019 edition (launch dates, whether to wait for 2019.. ? ) Please, that would be great. thanks! Happy riding !
Hi, i bought dominar 5 days ago. I have driven almost 200 kms so far. I have an issue in slow speed/traffic. While riding in first or second gear, bike doesn't feel smooth. It jerks like it is running low on fuel. What is ur opinion?
Like running low on fuel? You meant the bike is stalling? Please take it to the service centre in that case. Nothing to worry, this generally happens when you fuel up from a pump which had impurities in fuel and it gets stuck to the fuel pump or any other related lines. Service centre guys could clean it for you.
Hey strell i want to buy rr310 but its spare parts is costly for me as compared to dominar..can you tell me the difference in maintanence cost between dominar and rr310 (considering spare parts that need to be regularly changed)
Hi strell Want to know about oil and coolent mixing issue in dominar. Already done so much R&D on it and most of the owners are facing this isssue or even say that if someone noy facing this issue fill soon face before 25k kms. Don't know dominar owners that's y asking. Please share your reviews if someone in your circle facing this issue. Expecting positive reply from your end. Thanks
Hey Strell, I wanna Buy a New Bike mostly In 2019 but I have a Budget of 1.5 Lac to 2 Lac. I need to Buy a sports tourer n M not going for any Naked bike. Will go for a Sportier bike. Please Suggest Some new Bike or some upcoming bike.
Bro,will you tell me why bajaj bikes lack performance and show a lot of problems after 3/4 years. One more thing that why the exhaust sound of bajaj bikes becomes worse after 4/5 years.
I want to buy this bike. But decision making is always hard. I know this a better bike. I liked it a lot in a long test ride. Very tractable and compliant. But am having a hard time ignoring duke 390. Duke is uncomfortable, is not tractable, tends to wheelie most of the time. But still want it. I hope I make right decision. But I have made wrong decision before as well by choosing r15 over cbr for sporty position. Lol.
Vaibhav Pisal I've ridden both bikes back to back. The current gen Duke 390 is as comfortable as the dominar if not better and power delivery has also become more linear. You should try a test ride.
