The FBI guy once screamed at the parents in front of other people that they were losers, scum, and many other things. I would have loved to be there and see them while being scolded like little children. Of course, that wasn't enough, they deserved prison time. But that must have been very liberating for the FBI agent. Also they lost their older son to a drug overdose while Alex was on the run, and the youngest died in a car crash in 2004...karma's a B.

The Kellys didn't really fit into the community of Darien. But watch these documentaries and you'll see a disturbing pattern. Whether they are wealthy or trying to create the illusion of being successful and rich, these types of parents tend to be narcissistic, both abusive and enabling. Is it any wonder that their offspring often times believes that they can get with anything? Look at their role models. Alex Kelly did have a choice, but after years of having his parents fix things for him, he seemed to think that the whole world was like that. Given that his father was abusive, he probably thought that abusing others was acceptable. I feel terrible for the trauma that these girls went through. I hate that the rape victim is often placed on trial, when they didn't commit a crime. They were the ones who were victimized, not the other way around. Alex was coward to run, and his parents are just as despicable for helping him.

Alex Kelly was released in 2007 after only serving 10 years in jail and went back to reside in Darien with his parents in that same house. As of August 2015 he has started his own skydiving business and is planning to buy a local airport. If that doesn't say something about privilege in America I don't know what does.

Probably continuing the same behavior & feeling entitled to do so.
@perpetualnotion7453
@perpetualnotion7453 8 лет назад
+FierceFashion I don't think he can live with his parents. As far as America knows, his father's head was shot graphically by a lone gunman. Though as far as America also knows the person also shown as Alex died in a plane crash with his wife (and wife's sister) in 1996 from the family curse. His mother died around the time you're saying and his uncle, who is actually who the newspaper photo is of, died not long after Obama was elected. The testimony from the women is printed gossip about JFK from supposed female sources or even supposedly Jacqui herself. There genuinely is another "true story" using the exact same newspaper photo (there may be a number of them), except it's an entirely different person, place and crime. It's not a Dominick Dunne one, but True Crime TV or something like that. No, it may be American Justice. Always used for men who weren't even born in the decade of the newspaper article. I'd say the business reference says a lot about the family being close to the Lindbergh's and that skydiving is much safer than wing walking. Oh and that JFK Jr. and his wife were not killed in a bizarre plan crash the pentagon would have everyone believe.
@perpetualnotion7453
@perpetualnotion7453 8 лет назад
+edwardschlosser1 But it actually is a legally just system for the most part and probably more so than we often think. The safe guards in the legal system are very high. Dominick Dunne never ever developed his show to be watched on the internet. It's also not designed to be watched on a computer screen either really. Don't forget either that his field of expertise is being a very objective thinker. I won't go through a lot of the details and I've mentioned a number elsewhere, however there's one thing you can't deny he does quite intentionally that shows you he knows he's informing you of a bogus press CourtTV story. The defence attorney makes a number of comments throughout this story and his name is written on the screen. Dominick makes remark that the family made a very good move in getting the defence attorney who represented Claus Von Bulow, a case he was there for and says the name. Without knowing anything about the Von Bulow case you already know there's something fishy because the name he says is nothing like the name of the defence. Worse is that the Von Bulow case is infamous and Claus' new girlfriend even refers to the lawyer to get as "the Jew from New York", "I told him to get the Jew". Dershowitz is famous and Dominick did not knowingly stuff up that reference. Much like he'd never say "he's the only living witness still alive" unless he was trying to make a point, since of course a living witness is alive. If you watch him again now, knowing he continually references contradictions, other crimes no less absurd, crazy media reports of what really is, and so on they all tend to stand out like the chair that can't be lowered without your hand and you find yourself applying the law and constitution, recalling many media stories with the same bogus details and wondering how so many people get sucked in. What's that saying? When I'm not kissing babies, I'm stealing their lollipops :-) . DD wants the public to take 'em back, haha.

Watching this show since it was on TV, I learned one thing. Kids of wealthy families don't have any idea how to live in "normal" society. They believe that their better and have higher status than anyone else. And believe that Mommy and Daddy will always bail them out of trouble. I'd teach my kids how to behave and give back. And they'll know that they have to work hard and do good in order to earn their money. These wealthy kids learn none of that.

A lot of people in this town were fucking stupid...Lets see, he's charged w/armed robbery, but let him have his "summer" vacation, You accuse him of raping your daughter, oh we're going on vacation we'll get back to you. Thank God the second girl stood up to this puke! The girlfriend just runs back into his arms when he comes back after fucking other girls in Europe. And I'm sorry I don't think he was good looking, just a typical, rich douchebag. And only serving 10 years? Him fleeing to country should of also been added. GRRR. makes me so mad. SCUMBAG AND SCUMBGAG PARENTS!!
@perpetualnotion7453
@perpetualnotion7453 8 лет назад
+Linda Coolbaugh The fact you and SO many other people believe it is the only reason DD makes his show. If he just said it's not true or real he'd be dismissed and forgotten. So he points out the most absurd points, connections identical to other massively hyped crimes of equal absurdity and the photo evidence that is most often other people. Like one of the girlfriend is actress Natasha Richardson. The newspaper photo of the Darien athlete says 1957 if you enlarge it :-) . It is from a massively reported crime that happened after JFK/JFK & RFK & possibly JFK Sr. had "died" to the "4th" Kennedy son, who would be the face in the photo. As for the photos of his g/f and he at the 1997 case. Priceless. JFK Jr. apparently died in the most improbable plane crash & recovery in 1996 with his wife on board. If you see photos of them, they're eerily like this pair. Even ignoring that the athlete photo is his uncle Ted who he does look like. Or that the crime staged against Teddy was him with a woman in the back seat of a car that then went much worse than this. The details of what these women say though are nearly verbatim what magazines with exposes claim Jacqui says about Ted and John. Still Dominick, he even gave the defence attorney 3 names. The man on screen talking had one name, Dominick spoke of Claus Von Bulow's case against Suny Von Bulow (the infamous impossible coma of nearly 30yrs in New York) and how smart the parents were to get the attorney that defended him but called him something different to the man onscreen which is different to the name of the attorney (Dershowitz I think, but a name like that, you couldn't forget it) who was on the Von Bulow case. Passports are surrendered if bail is granted, especially over 1 million, and this case said 2 million which is forfeited if you don't stay in the place your told. Be if a residence and only going to arranged appointments, or not out of the city, least of all the state, never mind the country. Not to mention identification is needed everywhere, it's not that hard to find people :-). So in a real case him absconding would've been added as would charges directed at the parents for aiding and abetting. Many charges could be added if they wanted. Mail, bank accounts, false identity, etc, etc. Plus all of the laws broken in other countries by being a wanted fugitive. Though he would've just gone to a country that couldn't extradite thus knowing it's not real.

It happened ONCE, in all the years I've lived in this town; a girl was raped at one of the dances and the guy who did it... well, I think her brother and a few of his friends stopped just shy of actually killing him. Swifter justice than any judicial system. The kids around here aren't perfect and get crazy like teenagers do everywhere, BUT the difference is we KNOW the difference between right and wrong because we were TAUGHT by parents who give enough of a damn about such things to raise their kids right.

Pretty standard creation of a sociopath; an abusive (physically and mentally) father, a female parent that tries (with varying degrees of success) to protect the child in question. Often outbreaks of violence against the child are followed by periods of generosity in gift giving, and ignoring the terrible behaviors that are evincing themselves more and more regularly. Add to this deadly mix the amount of money that the parents are shelling out and you have a monster in the making. His parents should be in prison for hiding his location for so long. I believe it is called aiding and abetting.

As long as one has money, for some reason they have power & respect; they can stamp all over other people, RAPE women, break the law, lie, its all fine if one has money. Looks & superficial charm help, but even the narrator said he had wealth charisma looks & popularity. Is that what is valued? Not thoughtfulness, kindness, loyalty, RESPECT FOR OTHERS? & in many states there is a statute of limitations for rape, sexual abuse & others crimes against humanity. Even Adrienne said as she got older & stronger she cd face a trial. (maybe its different if a person flees. This should be abolished so kids can file charges when ready. Makes me so mad.

chokinonashes67 The American dream? I am not sure about that. I don't think the American dream is supposed to include rape and theft. (Yes, Alex was a thief and had run-ins with the cops about that too). I guess I can't even imagine what the American dream is anymore, it seems so mutated into an escape "theology" for excessive greed, dishonesty and me, me, me. The cultural fascination with the supposed American dream fuels television, films, Wall Street scumbags, and endless envy, but it just isn't real.

el reggie inald Mothers can be abusive (and I speak from personal experience) but in this sort of family dynamic, the mother tends to be complicit more than anything. They choose their husband over their children. Look at the case of the Menendez brothers and you'll notice some alarming similarities. Abusive and controlling fathers whose wives are either too meek or too afraid to lose what they have, and as a result allow their children to be mistreated.

Gimme a freakin' break, the parents of Alex Kelly never prosecuted because prosecutors thought they'd appear too sympathetic to the jury.....MY ASS!!! Tell the damn truth about it, it's all about the politics. You're not going to expend the energy or the money to fight a man as rich and powerful as Mr. Kelly. You have no interest in holding him accountable if it means spending the money to do it. What bullshit, they should be held to the same standards of behavior as the rest of society is held to. This makes me sick. That boy will be in the best cell in prison, he'll have all the amenities of home, and he'll kick back and enjoy his stay because all it will mean to him is some structure, for once in his life. It's hardly going to be punishment. The mother in her denial actually rationalizes and justifies her criminal behavior based on what any mother wouldn't want for their son. Yes, we get that, you love him and can't stand the thought of him being incarcerated so you fund his flight from justice. Do the words, "right and wrong" mean anything to you? What kind of mother doesn't teach her man-child how to own up to his responsibilities? What kind of mother are you that you would deny your son's nature in the face of all proof contrary to what you believe he is? I'm a mother of two sons, and it hurts to think about what I know my children are capable of. (Not meaning, murder or rape or things that serious). They're capable of lying to me, they're capable of hurting my feelings, etc. I can't deny that they can do those things to their own mother because I see it, they're my children. So it's only in denial and refusal to believe the truth that any mother wouldn't see the nature of her child. That being said, you only hurt your child when you deny what you know to be true about them. This guy, Alex, is completely destroyed by his parents. He's a useless human being, a vacuum from which dollars go in and never come out. He's more like the bane of their existence rather than their pride and joy. But out of pride, they refuse to see him that way because that would be admitting their failures as parents.

She was his only daughter & his wife got really sick with MS or something ending up in a wheelchair. It destroyed him & their family. This is why he started writing about the entitlement of the rich that commit crimes, & have the money to hire the best defense. Alex Kellys parents Joseph and Melanie Kelly have lost two of their three children, the oldest of the familys three sons Chris Kelly died of a drug overdose and Alex Kelly also had a younger brother named Russel Kelly (August 15, 1974 - August 9, 2004) who died in a car accident in Yellowstone National Park, MT at the age of 29 years old. Alex Kellys parents have lost two of their three children and the third one is a rapist scumbag i think the Kellys have suffered a lot but this still doesnt excuse their behavior in supporting Alex financially while he was on the run.

I just read that his older brother Chris' death was a drug overdose thought to be a suicide while Alex was on his 8 year skiing vacation. His younger brother Russ crashed a death car while drunk while Alex was incarcerated. Yet still judging by his father these parents do not look at their own actions. In their case money truely was the root of all evil. Without all the money they were sloshing about in there is a fairly good chance that they could have 3 living sons leading productive lives. How sad is it that they had three sons but can never be Grandparents?

At university, a very wealthy young lady, asked me to tutor her in French. In our chit-chat, she told me she invited a friend of her boy-friend to her bed, then decided she should not have done that, and decided again, to accuse him of rape. Then, there was another rich girl and her neurotic behavior, then the rich boy and his, and another, and another. The children of the rich often are very confused and neurotic regarding right and wrong. It's a curse that comes with the money.
