Dominick Dunne was pure class. I only wish each episode featured much more of him commenting about these crimes & the people involved, typically delivered in his uniquely dry, witty, yet insightful style. Thanks so much for uploading this series.
Ray and Gayle seemed like such nice people. They only made one real mistake, and many wealthy people seem to do this. When they give their kids anything they want when they hold out their hand, they never appreciate anything they have. No doubt at some point, this brat was told no. Every kid, whether in a rich or poor family needs to be taught the value of hard work. Without it, they will always be a spoilt brat sponging off others.
We should never give children a sense of "entitlement". If they have to earn something, they will set goals, and develop self-esteem and respect for others.. You are absolutely on point.
I was born working class, but have had to work for just about everything I've ever owned. Moved out of home at 17 and never moved back in. These rich brats have no idea what it's like to fight to survive
Jamie Spanky, a 17 year old high school student has a previous arrest for shooting his stepfather. He goes to his stepfather's home, ring the doorbell, his stepfather comes to answer the door, he shoots him five times. He escaped jail because the authority said that he had been a victim of some kind of abuse. The authority didnt really have any hard evidence to substantiate the abuse allegation against Spanky's stepfather, if they did, they could not use the words "some kind of abuse". Another case of the American judicial system failed to protect law-abiding citizens. Take the words of a killer, turn the table on the victim, vilify the victim to set a killer free to kill again. Had Spanky been charged with attempted murder, tried, convicted, he wouldn't be out in the street, free to kill again.
Two elements are common to every true crime feature: 1. The investigators say "this is the bloodiest/worst crime scene in the history of my career" 2. The townsfolk say "This isn't supposed to happen here!"
Bad egg...little ingrate...gotta love Dominic Dunne. Rest in peace. In every small town crime doc, they make a huge deal about "people started locking their doors." Why the hell would you NOT lock your door? To prove you and the people in your town are better than anyone else? Every door comes with a lock -- lock it!
What if Tiffany quietly orchestrated the whole thing from the shadows. That would be a cool story. She pushed his buttons as a kid to set him against their parents. Then orchestrates the "chance" meeting with the "hit-man" kid. Turns on her brother at the end and gets the entire fortune before she even turns 20.
Tony Seagle No evidence whatsoever of Tiffany being involved. She almost got killed the first time they tried but she locked the door & foiled their plan.
Money can makes life easier, but ohh my goodness it turn so many ppl soo evil! Including my own family!! Boy did my brothers jump for joy when my Dad died and they shared his money and all his belongings, car, unit ect... But as a girl I did get $1,500. They got over 100 grand each. Girls don't inherit. Neither of them flinched nor gave me a thought! Yeah I hate money, that makes me sick!
What is the nationality of your family? Has that affected the relationship you have with your brothers? If that was my brothers and they did not give me some I will be mad as hell.
Nah. I doubt you would have much of a chance of winning. However if I did decide to sue, gender discrimination is illegal, and I might use that as a basis for why I am entitled to an equal share of the inheritance.
Stupid kids. I miss you Dominick! His dry delivery is hilarious. But he's serious, his daughter was murdered years ago. I love how the way he's so DROLL . ..
Gotta love the sister. She staunchly defends her brother against charges that he murdered their parents, but when she reads in the paper that he also planned to kill her, then she turns against him. Kevin Yocum was sentenced to life in 1986, which means he's been sitting in prison for 27 years now. He and wannabe hitman John Cox probably can't feel real remorse, but you just know they have lived lives of regret. Ha! Ha! Ha!
Have any seen the episode about -Tony Pike who owned hotel in Ibiza,Spain. It was such a sad story about how his son got set up and killed and he buried his ashes or body in front of the hotel.
Power Privilege And Justice ISLAND OBSESSION is what you mean, search for that. I LOVE dominick dunne & this was probably my least favourite, but only because I can't relate, and I find con artists and bigtime Drug dealers pretty much almost expected to meet a bad end. I prefer family and spousal - on -the-run murders like the Janet Leigh ep, or the mystery in Monaco was a great one. But here's the Tony Pike episode. Have at it :) !!
EVIL! at it's worst. Yocum is now serving a life without parole sentence at the California State Prison at Lancaster. The ROTTEN BRAT,now has plenty of time to think about his evil plot, death would have been too good for this scum bag!
Yet another 911 caller who's an idiot: Caller: There's a girl here who says her house has been broken into and her parents are hurt. She's really shook up, she says her parents are hurt bad. Operator: Her parents are hurt???
I have to differ with you. I really enjoy him. It may be worth mentioning that Mr. Dunne became involved in reporting court cases because his own daughter was murdered. Not faux at all,
I think you misunderstand what I'm saying. I love Dominick Dunne. I read his books and Vanity Fair articles regularly. I know his story. I dislike that the show used a voice actor to try to simulate Dominick's speaking style to narrate this show after his death.
Has anyone read any of Dominick Dunne's books? If so, are they good & which is his best? I'm thinking of purchasing some but not sure what would be good.
The 2 Mrs. Grenville's, but they are all so good, so you can't go wrong, they have it all glamour, wealth, intrigue, scandal. That book is based on an actual case about a women that married into a wealthy family. Her mother in law was not happy. They did a doc on the case on Dominic's show.
I herd in this vid that some person said it could be Satanic killing they don't even know what they are talking about . every time there is a killing they blame Satanists people sould get a life and stop judging Satanist by their name if you judge the jury in heaven is being selected for your case judge ye not lest ye be judged and us Satanists destroy our enimies by verbale proxy not by physical meansbe cause it is against the law to do so
You sound nuts! He is famous, intelligent, wealthy, and extremely successful. He brings crime to light in a story that anybody (except you) can understand. That is not a loser. Can you say the same? Of course you can't.
Sikes Pico Dominick Dunne is internationally renowned, certainly not the definition of a loser. Why bother to watch the docu at all.... Then some people are never happy, chronic complainers.
A 600 acre cotton farm , and a 4 million dollar estate. You people are stupid really stupid. Any body who ( as I so loosely use the term ) thanks that you can become that rich by farming 600 acres of cotton are mindless brain washed sheep. I really feel sorry for you dumb , mindless , stupid little sheep. PS YOU IDIOTS.
Stupid kids. I miss you Dominick! His dry delivery is hilarious. But he's serious, his daughter was murdered years ago. I love how the way he's so DROLL . ..
