Former Domino’s Manager here! The way the tracking works is we receive the orders and they pop up on a screen by the makeline. This is the “prep” stage. When we finish making the order and put it in the oven, we clear it off the screen and that’s how the tracking knows it’s in the “baking” stage. The ovens are timed to take about 6-7 minutes. Once the order is boxed, this is called the “quality check” stage and then it is placed on the heat rack and waits for the driver to bag it up and take it! As soon as the driver clocks the order out under their name, it is now “out for delivery” and on its way! Domino’s created an app that the drivers use called the Domino’s Delivery Experience and this how it tracks their location. In more recent years, Domino’s has been struggling with keeping employees and being short staffed, which contributes to the inconsistencies with orders and tracking. Hope this clears things up for people! ✌🏻

Dominos employee here for almost 11 years! So the tracker is actually extremely accurate if the team is properly using it. We have multiple computers to track different points in the process. When the order is sent it’s sent to our makeline screen. It depends on the manager clocked in for who it says is making your order but that’s not necessarily who is making it but it is actually their real name being used. Once we complete making the order we press enter on our makeline screen and it updates to cooking which takes around 7-8 minutes. The quality check is kind of bs to make you feel better that it’s just sitting on our hot racks and then the driver will clock it out under their real name. We have an app that tracks our location so you can see almost exactly where we are. If the order says it’s by a different name than the person who showed up that probably means the driver who clocked it out pressed the wrong name by mistake or the original driver was unable to make the delivery. Sorry to debunk your theory 😅 I’m happy to explain further if anyone cares

Hi! This is a real team member from dominos! Ima. Driver and I can confirm that the tracker is real to the best of my ability. After someone orders, it is in the system. This is when the tracker first starts moving. After the order is in, people start to prep the pizza (stretching the dough, putting sauce and cheese on etc), after this is done, they put it in the oven and press a button to send the receipt to quality check (where I work). This button also lets the tracker know that the pizza is in the oven. Each pizza is in the over for the same amount of time because the over has a built in conveyer belt. After the prepper presses the button to let the tracker know where the pizza is, the tracker counts down the amount of time it takes for the pizza come out of the oven. When the timer is finished, it gets sent to quality check when I slice the pizza, box it and dispatch it to a driver. Once I press the dispatch button, the tracker says the pizza is on the way and the store as well as the customer can check where the order is at all times. Once delivered, the driver presses the “complete” button from their app and it shows complete on the tracker.

Dominos manager here :) When you place an order it popps up on the makeline, it will say "Name" is making your order, this is the manager on shift. Once we place it in the oven, we clear it off the screen and the tracker will tell you its baking. Our ovens take about 7 mins to cook the pizza, once its out, we cut it "Quality check stage" and place it on the heat rack. When the driver takes it, they dispatch it out on the screen and from then on, the app is tracking the drivers phone location. Only things that is "Fake" or inaccurate is the ETA when you order, the app doesn't take into account how many orders are ahead of yours, or how many drivers are on shift. Also when it says "Name" is making your order, that is the manager on shift and anyone in the store could be making your order. This is why when you order a salad, that clearly doesn't need to go in the oven, the tracker will tell you its baking, anything you order will go on our makeline screen and when its cleared, the tracker will automatically say its in the oven. - Im happy to answer any questions! :)

I actually have all the answers for you Shane because I WORK AT DOMINOS. I’m both an insider and a driver and I’ve been here for about 8 months. So for the tracker. It’s kind of hard to explain, but for the pizza making, we have a screen with your order on it. We clear the screen by every item on that order. Therefore, when it says it’s baking in the oven, the order has been cleared off the screen. For the quality check, we actually do make sure the pizzas are good just in case we made it wrong and sometimes quality check may take a while because unfortunately we do have to have remakes for pizzas or other items that were made incorrectly. Now for the driving part. I cannot tell you HOW MANYS TIMES I have gotten lost or taken a wrong turn during a delivery which extends the time. Now I’m not saying our tracker is perfect, but it’s definitely not fake. And you’re correct about drivers making other deliveries. We sometimes are so busy and short of drivers we do what are called doubles. Doubles are when we take two orders at once because they are in a close range together. It would be nice for the tracker to tell you if your driver is taking more than one delivery but unfortunately it doesn’t. If you have any more questions I’ll do my best to answer them!!!

Ex Dominos delivery driver here and it is for sure real. Each button is pressed for the next step just basically like every other fast food restaurant. Sometimes names and tracking gets messed up just depending how things are dispatched or assigned but it works majority of the time correctly

Former domino’s delivery driver here!👋🏼 Before taking a delivery out we would select it on the screen that would then show it was out for delivery and who signed it out. (I will say however sometimes it got sent with a different driver if we realized the delivery address was on their route to another delivery to make the delivery faster) They didn’t track us by GPS when I worked there but the computer back at the store would calculate the distance and give a time estimate to the customer/driver. We would also have separate people doing each step of the pizza making process, someone who made the dough, someone who topped the pizza, someone who put it in the oven then someone who pulled it out and sliced it. Then the driver who would check the order and pack it and then take it out for delivery. Each person would press on the screen when they were done with each step and I always assumed that was for the tracker. Love these conspiracy videos they are my favorite videos you put out! 😍 Interesting to see you do one about one of my former jobs! You should do one on Panera bread I also did delivery for them and there’s some HOT tea there 😂😂

I always kind of figured it was for the tracker app. But….

I used to work for Domino’s and the “tracking device” is not not real. It goes through our system of orders that once we hit a button it’ll trigger a receipt to pop out so whoever is running the oven can match up food to tickets (during rush hour it can get confusing sometimes) and as a driver it tracks our location through our phones. Some drivers delivery through other driver accounts, but it does track us through an app on our phones. Drivers DO double up on orders (I’ve once taken 5+ orders at a time) They are real people that work in the store and it once they clock in the system will register where they are on the line and put that in the app for the tracker.

5:34 former dominoes worker here! When a customer was about to place an online order we would be able to see it on the screen even before it was submitted. When it was placed we were told to send it through, to make our times look better for our managers. So when it said we were on our way, in reality it was just getting out of the oven. It would be 100 times worse and inaccurate when it was busy.
