Don’t Be Afraid Of Spending Money On Your Music Career

As they say, you got to spend money to earn money. Investing into yourself is the best move to make.

At the beginning of the year, I got layed off my job so I took 6 months to learn music production, 12-14 hours a day, everyday. After that time, I started to notice that it wasn't my time Rappers/Producers needed, it was the monetary value that they needed attached to their brand. So, I literally just got a job to invest into Curtiss King and other people. I sold my PS4, I sold my Xbox. Hell, I actually go around my neighborhood after work and collect cans just so I can get money to afford artwork and finally pay for a Curtique My Beats from good ole Curt-O here. Moral of my post is: Give. *GIVE* ... If you see yourself as a million dollar music producer, you're gonna have give that much not only to yourself, but to other people as well to get there. At least, in my opinion, I completely understand if I'm wrong.

When I throw the type of money into an investment that scares tf outta me, I’m always trying to look at the UPSIDE. Like when you shift your focus, you get a lot more out of the actual course, session, program, etc.

I just finished reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad and it really changed my perspective about money and my approach on making money. I'll be investing my hard earned money in a smart way so my music business will make it easier each time to generate income. More time and less pressure on paying bills will improve greatly my learning and music quality, and hopefully that will make "all the difference".

Before I bought my camera I saw and thought about the price tag-mainly because I didn’t see the use of it since I make music and not images. I started too see the potential growth for my business and how multi functional that camera is, I not only bought the camera, I bought the traveling bag, lights, color filters, Tripod, everything that I could think of that would go with that camera. Now I don’t even regret it because it will provide quality image.

This is a great video. I can relate 100%. When I was younger I wanted to be a rapper but like many others, it didn't work out. I ended up going to the Army then college later on. While in college I started a company named Innovadiv to help other indie artists and I ended up growing it to a 100k business and it's all I do now.

I definitely agree with a lot of what you say but it can be tough to say “money is just paper” when it’s absolutely essential to living. There almost has to be a sort a insanity to just jump in but that’s part of trying to build a business I guess

This video made me finally bite the bullet, hire a designer for my logo, pay for my website, and get new business cards. I didn’t see an immediate return, but it increased the word of mouth about my business which eventually lead me to me about to engineer my second album and a podcast interview that I pan on using to promote myself.

What's crazy is how I was really okay with droppin bands on Post Secondary Education that has no guarantees for success but the second I'm gonna buy FL for $240 it seemed like such a big deal. But school did help me think more about investing in myself, broke the ice.

I’m from Mexico, and I’m about to get into a producer career. But at first, I was scary to spend a lot of money that maybe I could spend in something more important. One day my cousin told me that the best investment, is me, and now with your video I’m less scary to spend that money, cause at the end of the they is something I love, and now I’m convince that is just matter of time to get that money back, and triplicate what at the beginning I spend, or better said, invest. ALL businesses have to invest money, NOTHING is different in the music business than it is if someone is looking to opening up there own shop or start an online business. I spoke to someone the other day that could not justify the warrant of investing £100 signing up to the PRS..... (Let that sink in)....... 😱😂

@Curt King TV: I had a feeling you read the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" also. I read it also last week. That is why I have been trying to get as many sources of passive income as possible.

I personally feel that anyone who creates art of any sort has to put at least half of what they make back into it. For instance when i actually started selling paintings i bought a better easel, ect.
