Great advice Mark! And I might add that when you slam two rocks together it is bad for both rocks..... Soooo, your also not doing your flywheel, and engine any favors when you do that ! Keep up the great work!

I do the same thing with my pickup transmission. After startup I wait for it to lower to idle rpms before putting it in gear. I’ve been doing the same thing with outboards for 50 years. Both practices have paid off over the decades.
