Don’t Buy the Ryzen 5 5600 GT/Watch this First!

I just got this CPU on Best Buy for $105 USD. Amazon has it too for $105 as of today 6-16-24 but it takes a few weeks to arrive. I also have the same motherboard on the way. I have an RTX 3050 LP, I was about to build something with the R5 5500 but for $23 dollars more I got this 5600GT, slightly faster and if for some reason I want to upgrade the GPU in the future, while the new card arrives etc, I can use this to do light gaming or just use the PC because of the IGPU. Also I replace my computers over time, and I can sell it to someone without my discrete GPU, and they can use it right away. Now, for $140 it was not worth it. The R5 8500G is about $160 now and is way better, but AM5. Thanks for this great video.

Does your display have a higher resolution then 1080p? That would explain your blurry image. 1080p should be played on a 1080p display

I don't get it, that you will have a headache by playing with over 60 fps. I got this CPU within a ASRock X300 Mini PC and I can play Subnautica in 1080p with medium setting very fast. Also some of my other games will run as hell on that machine. Ok, not with 120 or 60 fps but more or less above 50. All is smooth and my power consumption is morles very low. So for someone who is not playing the fully state of the art games this und be a good solution and also very cheap because of the low amount of power over the year.

I have a little AsRock X300w mini pc and I found a seller on Amazon selling the 5300G for $79 and they still have them in stock and I am quite surprised of its performance with only 4 cores and 6 graphics cores ..and for only $15 more than the 3000g you get way more performance ...but its looking like the new GT is I bet 5700g dies with 2 bad cores disabled rather than a hole new 5600g remake ..just guess but would explain the 4.6 boost speed

The point of these APUs is for someone who wants to game right now and can save up for a GPU later. Or if that person is on a tight tight budget. The 5600GT can save them hundreds of dollars while still giving that person a decent experience. The types of people buying these things are gamers who want to get into PC gaming on a strict budget or people building SFF PCs. I have one holding me over until I get a 3080 Ti here in a few days and it’s honestly exceeded my expectations for the performance it gives.

HI. Do you have the PBO2 option in the UEFI for the 5600GT, cause i think it's just an OCd 5600G, or in other words a 5600G with "stock PBO2 +200MHz", cause if the 5600GT has a PBO2 +200 MHz option in the UEFI, that would make it boost to 4800 Mhz which would be ridiculous?!

This video has made me change my mind and I'm now going to go with the Ryzen 5 5500 and an RX580, saves me AUD$50.00 on the CPU. I was going to run the 5600G and the RX580 but now just sticking with Ryzen 5 5500

Should i buy the RYZEN 5 8600G? Because it has AV1. I plan to upgrade it later.

Something to consider that i just found out, the 5600G will not run Windows 11, but the newer 5600GT will. There may be workarounds im not aware of but this is what both AMD and Microsoft are currently saying. I have been using the 5600G since it came out and have 3 systems running it now with Windows 10, tried an upgrade to 11 and couldn't do it, even with Bios etc changes. I may have missed something but at this point im buying 5600GTs to replace my 3 5600Gs.

AMD's apu marketing strategy is complete trash they should just keep the exact same specs as non apu and charge 50$ on top for the G variant this way people could start gaming at low cost and add a dgpu later without worrying any performance loss now all these G/GT variant is just e-waste unless all you want is a htpc

Nothing overclocks like an APU. If you want to set OC records use an APU.

Sir u lost like L3 cache 16mb which the ryzen 5 5600 had. That total of 32mb not 16mb which boosts a lot of FPS and same prices.

Good video. A Ryzen 5600 is only a little bit more and can be a lot faster cpu, they are going for around $125 U.S these days. I'd save a little to get that. Apu's are mostly just for casual pc users who watch youtube, play facebook games etc.

This CPU is only 105$ on Amazon today. Ryzen 5500 is about 85$. 4.2ghz vs 4.6ghz will make a difference with a higher end GPU. Especially because cache is limited to 19mb for both listed above. But for 22$ more the 5600 is better because of the extra cache. But I think for around 100$ this falls in line for price/performance ratio. I like integrated graphics because it makes troubleshooting a bad GPU easy. I would consider this and put the money into the GPU. Which we all know matters anyways. Any modern Rx x700 series or RTX x060 series cards will pair with these CPUs resulting in little to no bottleneck in most scenarios.

5600GT on clearance at Best Buy, it's a good deal at close to $100

Great chip for HTPC and games on the side, if you don't chase FPS you don't need that L3, 5600X or even 5700/800X3D has. If you are building a ''GAMING PC'' then AM4 doesn't make sense either unless you already own the mobo, AM5 got cheap and DDR5 too. The title is pretty clickbaity.

The Ryzen 5500 is a 5600G with disabled GPU! (Zen3 Cezanne core)

Thanks for the informative video. I think the comparaison is not really fair. If you are a serious gamer you need a $300-400 graphic card to start with which is way more expansive then an integrated graphics. This cheap APU can play modern games in 1080P low settings but also a bazillion older games on high settings. So it is a great and cheap chip for the occasional "gamer". Btw I don't think the video "quality" is bad because of the APU. I have the 5600G which has the same IGP and I have no issue with graphic quality.
