@1:13:24 For the record, Don Quixote is a famous classic novel of Western Civilization. It tells the story of a hero who upholds knightly virtues. His "quests" involve imaginary adversaries; for instance, the famous windmill he fought was envisioned as "an evil giant" oppressing local farmers. Critics have interpreted a theme involving a faithful, idealistic hero who struggles against a changed, modern world where things are no longer as honorable as he believes they once were/are/should be.
As CrossFit got bigger I think the affiliates were destined to fail. With the amount of direct to consumer programming (mayhem, HWPO, PRVN, ect…) available and CrossFit being a methodology known to be done in a garage, crossfit affiliates have tough completion. The growth of globo gyms (usually way cheaper than an affiliate) having functional fitness areas where one can do their mayhem, ect.. program is another blow to the crossfit affiliate. I hear the counter is the community which can be true but I am personally a globo gym goer using mayhem programming guy and have a great community of people who talk shit with me and a few people who I convinced to do my programming and now love CrossFit. The death of crossfit affiliates is sad but was easy to see coming.
Souza … CrossFit already has an on-ramp program 12 sessions and ROGUE has the ON RAMP equipment package for box dumbells pvc pipe once complete there a referral to local cf gym?
I love that Souza is too nice to go full rant on someone without apologizing 😂 Agree with your rant though if CrossFit goes 100% virtual, but it makes sense for them to create an online alternative to the affiliate. I think Dave mentioned this on a WIR in the past year. Right now CF makes $0 from me doing CF in my garage. They’re missing out on untapped revenue.
Hi Souza great show I’ve just watched the lates PRsallday podcast that seems to be a response to your show would be good if you could do a podcast with Craig,Jamie&Tim to talk about the different views !! I was hoping you would cover more on separating the sport from affiliates in the future.
@@MatthewSouza "what do I know, I'm just a dude reading some s#!+", only thing in the whole thing that wasn't incredible speculation. There's a lot to unpack in the whole thing, but great content. Surprised at your Open comment though and not making money around it. It was one of the most profitable events for our gym, between t-shirt sales and in gym competition (thank you Two Brain), it was always worth any "work" we had to put in (but that doesn't really align with your "why", so I get it). Also, your rant at 45:00, well done.
Relax dude. CF is mainstream now. The old days are gone. It was the same for bodybuilding and other fitness methodologies. Things change over time. P.S. it has always been about the money, CF has never been a not-for-profit organization
@@jeremyeatworld807shouting and mentioning the "corrupt WHO" in a video about CF HQ alleged desire to develop the direct consumer side of business? He definitely needs to relax. I understand the passion but he was over the top
@@samuele.marcora 10 year affiliate owner watching his methodology and the brand of Crossfit be lumped up with F45 and Orange Theory and you expect him to not be passionate and maybe a bit over the top? It's attitudes like yours that create hard times that men like Matt constantly dig us out of.
