Ooooooh yeah. Very different world today. SJW's ruin practically everything whining about women wearing bathing suits and men for "looking" at them. Yes, how DARE us lowly males look at a woman wearing a bikini... lol
I remember one of his first appearances on Good Times as Thelma’s college boyfriend. James Evans wasn’t having it since he was too old for her being Thelma was in high school. He was smooth back then.
I can still remember watching this show after being introduced to it by a good friend of mine called Kevin (such an 80s name). Crocket and Tubbs were the coolest duo of the 80s. The look, sound, dialogue and subject matter summed up the 1980s perfectly. Miami Vice was a hugely successful and influential TV show that would go on to be mimicked by other TV shows as well as films. Don Johnson was cooler than ice, and Philip Michael Thomas was hotter than the Miami sun. The two men played Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, drug-enforcement officers in a bright and fashionable Miami. At the time Miami was a run-down town, plagued with drugs as well as other social and economic problems. It’s no secret that Miami Vice helped the area prosper to eventually become what it is today. The show was a watershed moment in TV much like how MTV changed music and music videos. Crocket and Tubbs took on hardened criminals and suffered for it. They showed the real side of policing, where the risk of being harmed or even killed was an occupational hazard. What really made the show for me, was their friendship. The loyalty and understanding they had for one another influenced me in a big way. When I think of great friendships, I think of Crocket and Tubbs, two men who couldn’t be more different, yet were prepared to die for each other. How many of us have a friendship like that? I can’t write about Miami Vice and not talk more about their pastel-shaded fashion, the stubble-faces, sock-free and carefree hairstyles. The look of Miami Vice is what made it stand out from other police shows. The pastel colours added warmth to their personalities and complemented the Miami sunshine. The colours popped out as did everything else in the show. The rough, unclean, dishevelled look was to Miami Vice what Clint Eastwood was to Fistful of Dollars. The grooming style reminded me of that 1960s Spaghetti Western look made popular by legendary as well as visionary film director Sergio Leone. I imagine Michael Man was influenced by Leone’s anti-hero characters. The Sonny Crocket look became very popular with guys. The light-coloured blazer, pastel T-shirt and shoes without socks became commonplace. I can still remember some of my older friends wearing this look. Oh, they didn’t wear sock because it was too hot! You’d need them in England! What a decade to have grown up in.
Both actors were generous in praising all the cast members, support staff and the fans! Miami and Miami Beach are truly a beautiful cities...Thank you Miami Vice!
doobsnack Am a lifelong fan from day one. But no way are they ahead of “The Sopranos”, “The Wire”, “Boardwalk Empire” And “Deadwood”.Yes I know, personal bias w/HBO but the fact remains , for all its strong points “MV” could not hold a candle to the overall quality of those program.
I'm not gay but I think these two adult human males are among one of the most coolest, beautiful and humble duo in TV series history. Beautiful both inside and outside. Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas both matured very well today. Both never forgot where they came from and the other humans in their lives that helped. Philip's best comment was crediting God for the opportunities and success in his life.

When I was like 12, I had a casette player that also recorded, so I had a casette and every time Miami vice was on, I recorded intro theme one after another so I could listen to it over and over again. And I did so,too.
I have all Miami Vice soundtracks on vinyl and cd. But the best one I have is a double cd soundtrack which has Jan Hammer's music that was not put on the regular soundtrack albums. This one is discontinued and very expensive (150 dollars) and worth every penny. I was very lucky to get this (from 976-CREOLEMAN).
race relations were so much better 30 yrs ago. hard to believe. this show did it all without making big deal or any deal about the two stars being a white and black man and everybody loved the show and both stars.
Wow how times have changed. No profanity laced comments for lack of ability to construct a sentence using multi syllable words; recognizing that as Americans we live in a wonderful nation and what seems to be a genuine debt of gratitude.

I love Miami Vice, Philip Michael Thomas is my heart throb and is the main reason that I watch ❤😂❤😂 aside from that, it's a excellent show, takes me back to the 80's

PMT loved being part of Miami Vice and I always thought it was a shame he never had better roles in TV and film after Vice ended. DJ couldn't wait for Vice to end to go be a big movie star (and we saw how that worked out) but PMT was always grateful for every episode he worked on Vice. I like DJ but I always liked PMT better because he always seemed to have a better attitude about everything.
Phillip always carried a positive attitude during the MV era. When Don was fighting the studio for more $$ during the series' fourth season, Phillip didn't bitch or complain. He kept showing up and put in the work. When Don was granted the pay raise, the producers bumped Phillip's salary to the same as Don's.
I'm 18, and i'm fucking love all about Miami Vice. Era 80s was really AWESOME. DJ and PMT great actors. This show teaches us many things. Miami Vice in a heart forever.
