My absolute favorite episode. I laugh out loud every time I watch it. Don Knotts was a master of physical comedy.

Thelma Lou was so wonderful in that episode. She knew his shortcomings but she still loved him dearly.

Excellent in every way! I assume it was done during Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy? Wondering what year? I would have loved to have been there. I think Don Knotts was only there once or twice.

There is one major difference. John Masters directed this in 2/4 time . Phillip is directing it in 4/4 time. Love it!

You left out one of the funniest scenes, when Barney was shaking and fixing his tie to get to be invited to be in the choir..lol.

I might have cut off the power during their choir practice. Let em chase me to the county line. Ha ha ha!

I related to Barney most of all. heh just sayin'

Ok in some episodes the joke is that Barney sings atrociously off-key, and in others he's flawless (mean in multiple clips not just this one). Is there a sequence of events revealing his transformation and I missed it? Or is he just two different people manifesting at random?
