He was my hero when I was just a kid. I didn't actually "know" him, but I got to talk to him one time at a Denny's in Indy for an hour. He did not disappoint.......I still feel lucky. I'm almost 70 now and he's still my hero !
Dyno Don was one of the best match racecar at the end of his career . He was one of the best hard-core races that ever lived . I'm proud to say I knew him ...
Phil we must have been there the same time. We were pitted right across from Dyno Don and some of his friends. I could not resist taking this vid and kinda sorry I didn't get any action in the pits. Ron aka bills7974
Well Dyno Don Nicholson is still sparking my interest. In the coming days I will be putting together some photos of the Super Chevy Show 2000 Pomona with a picture of his '62 Chevy Impala-and on and around this time he was trying to keep up with all the other top door slammers and his engine in this car was a NOS feed 500 cubic inch engine with I believe a Lenco 4 speed trans. Some of my friends cars will be pictured along with Don Garlits selling memorabilia and a picture of Jim Norbhaugen 41 Willy's Nitro Coupe. Thanks for watching drag race fans. I do see some info after this 2000 Super Chevy Show he went to NOS assisted 620 cubic inch engine.
The car you see in this video is anything but a 409 . I saw the car when he came to Richmond Virginia match racing . We met at the Cracker Barrel . He was match racing Arnie Beswick . A couple years later he was put in a home where he passed . Dyno Don Nicholson will always be a legend in the sport .
