@@dpelpal Yup! And brown, yellow, white, off white and thin skinned people like you You just proved my point I'll bet you're a real joy to spend any amount of time with My condolences to anyone who comes in contact with you...😆😅😂
Back when people had thick skin and a backbone!! People didn’t get easily offended like the fucking snowflakes we have today!!! So sad how mentally weak and soft people are today!!
It was all meant in FUN!! geez. I saw this as a kid on cable and LMAO! We were better back off then when we could just LAUGH! Now we're sensitive, petty, emotional, and simps.
Imitates Spanish, jokes that Pedro Guerrero’s wife is a cleaning lady, questions why he isn’t speaking English in a country without an official language… and I haven’t even gotten to the line about the “friendly colored guy” and Don getting sick if he touches him… pretty sure he could have lined up some less bigoted jokes and gotten just as many laughs.
@@Jacob-lv1pz Lighten up, dude. If it was so offensive why'd you watch it? Turn it off. I'm sure I'd find Queer As Folk or Sex and the City and all those shows you like offensive, that's why I don't watch them.
@@rmartin7558 I like baseball and this happens to be a video that focuses on that very sport. It’s crazy to imagine that someone would have to watch something in order to understand it’s content… This type of comedy lives in the “good ol’ days” for a reason. Today, people are able to laugh without throwing in that splash of bigotry.
@@Jacob-lv1pz Today young people aren’t smart enough to realize the difference between bigotry and jokes. Back then, people were. If it was offensive comics like Rickles wouldn’t have had a career and been respected by people of all backgrounds.
@@lupowins These jokes came a decade before we even had access to internet. Come join us in the present where information is easily accessible and comedians still manage to write funny jokes.
@@crowndeluxe77 You realize Blazing Saddles was anti-racist, right? I know the N word got you all excited, but Mel Brooks was making fun of guys like you.
Every time someone under the age of 25 sees this they curl up in a fetal position and cry uncontrollably. Rickles was great, everyone was fair game and they were smart enough to get that he was poking fun at stereotypes and was never mean spirited.
I got to ride around in a golf cart with Tommy at Dodgertown in Vero Beach when I was 8 years old (his final season as manager). Even though I was and still am a Yankee fan it's a great memory I'll always cherish (he even made his godson sign the Dodgers hat my father bought me, even though he's a Tigers fan)
Back when you “went along with it” and weren’t offended. This wouldn’t and couldn’t happen today without a multitude of groups claiming some type of “social injustice”.
“Colored guy means great man!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 At times I imagine 2023, REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER having both Carlin and Rickles, analyzing woke culture… it’d shatter every ratings record in history!
There was one year when the Dodgers were struggling and Al Michaels was doing play by play of a national TV game and he said "In Lasorda's office he has a Sinatra wall and a Rickles wall, pretty soon he'll be needing a wailing wall." 😆😆😆
I'm tired of the political correctness police, let's stop confusing racial discrimination with racism. Racism only has the impact an individual allows it to have, we are a species of many different delightful cultures and it's foolish to suggest how one is better than the other, if you are proud of your heritage then let that be your peace of mind and don't allow your tribalism or spiritualism to control your emotions or reactions towards another's stereotype point of view, just live life right, it's very simple, don't physically harm anyone, invade their space or steal their property.
Wow, I've never seen this bit with Don taking on some Dodger greats, that was hilarious and Rickles was the only one capable to pull something like that, He was one of a kind I miss his brand of humor..Thank You for posting this👍!
This really happened during the 78 season. When the entire team was in the locker room Tommy told the team he brought in a spiritual doctor to hopefully end a 6 game losing streak they were in and it was in fact Don Rickles and it was way funnier than this. They were in 3rd place at the time then went 34-18 to end the season finishing in first place
Could not have happened then. Matlock was with SG 77-79, traded to Pitt in 79 and stayed there till 85 when he was sent to the dodgers. Likely late 86 or 86 as Don mentioned he got out of Pittsburgh.
Seems to me the Caucasian players were more uncomfortable with Don than the other players, but all laughed respect eachother. World need more Rickles humor today. RESPECT EACHOTHER.
