Occurred on July 31, 2018 / Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA
"My family and I were driving through Hayden Valley in Yellowstone looking at wildlife and the scenery when we upon slowed traffic due to bison along the road. I videoed him from our vehicle as he was walking and making growling sounds. We noticed behind us a man in socks and no shoes walking up the road towards the bison. He gestured to the animal to get off the road and then proceeded to challenge him. The bison went after him a couple times and then carried on with what he was doing before he was bothered. The man did not appear to be injured and we are unsure of what happened to him after as we moved forward with traffic."

I was in Yellowstone at dawn around 20 years ago. The wildlife is active then. I felt as though I had the place to myself, almost no other vehicles. Many Bison crossed the road in front of me, also several moose sightings, just a wonderful experience I'll never forget.

@@irgendeinname9256 What he did wasn’t “pretty much nothing.” Think about it. He disregarded the life of himself as well as the lives of everyone else in the vicinity. His actions could have resulted in thousands of dollars in property damage. The bison could have disabled someone’s vehicle. If that fool had been injured there likely would’ve been people putting their own lives on the line to save his life. He was clearly wrong. Lastly, punishment does not always mean “jail time.” A combination of jail time, a fine, and requiring a specific amount of time learning about as well as educating others on the risks of encountering wild animals in the wild can be a better deterrent for future bad behavior. Hopefully he won’t enter another race to be the next winner of a Darwin Award. I do concede that one can’t always fix stupid behavior, but one can try.

There should be no safety laws anywhere in the world, if you do stupid things or are stupid enough to let your children do stupid things, they will grow up with your stupid genes, Darwin needs to weed out. Agree. Some stupid city girl approached a bear some time ago, because she wanted to take a selfie with it. The bear was probably curios or hungry so it got closer to the group. The girl though that it was friendly and went near it and, obviously, the bear felt in danger and attacked her. No major injuries because the others jumped in her rescue. After that, the girl demanded the shooting of the animal. (Which never happened) What really bothers me of, are the city folks who go into the nature and have no respect at all for it. I bet that this idiot pp got hard because he "wins" the fight against this majestic buffalo but indeed he was lucky, cuz the buffalo wasn't interested into finish him. I don't wish death of innocent people but man, a lot of them need a good whooping from wild animals. Sorry for my english.

He got some 130 days of prison time, apparently he said that it was his last party before he goes to rehab. Also, he was jailed a day before this incident for public intoxication for a night.
