Being totally aware in the present moment is when one is just simply observing everything round them without labeling things or judging what's happening, and the same should apply to the voice in the head whenever it arises, so just silently observe it without identifying with it, and therefore, one should always be able to remain aware in the present moment without any kind of negative self talk. Thank you, Eckhart. The negative self-talk is a combination of other people’s voices (especially if you’ve had a difficult background) and your own. Agreed that it is harsh and cruel. That was my experience with it my for over half my life, anyway; and it was subconscious most of the time. So, I didn’t even realize it was running my life. Until I discovered what complex trauma was and started recovering from it AND then found you and your teachings, I was destined to forever be miserable. I appreciate all that you do and share with us so freely. What I’ve learned from you has been a priceless gift that is all important and has changed my life for the better. 🙏
How did you manage to silent these "voices" ? I have the exact some situation here, but it's impossible to not start that inner chat. Any tip you may have is welcome.
I think back to the time when I first read The Power of Now and A New Earth. I reached for the books as my life seemed to be in total chaos. As troubles mounted I would listen to the audio version of A New Earth every night while trying to fall asleep. That was 12 years ago. Back then I would continuously bring myself into the present moment and find peace. Now I am free of the past earthly burdens, but still need a reminder to focus on the moment as my mind wonders into the past and stresses over what was,but is no more. Thank you Eckhart for sharing your wisdom and providing the tools to enlighten our lives. You have shown me the doorway to peace of mind.
You are one of my greatest teachers. The state you achieved and then communicated to us has been a blessing. While we all still suffer terribly, you have helped deeply. Please continue to pray for the world.
My Ego has a name! Her name is Sevi & many times a day I tell her to shut up! She insists to talk to the manager but I reminder her that I am the manager!!!(I read it somewhere & since then I use it every single day)!!! 😜🥰 Love my presence 💓 Thank you Eckhart 🙏
I think Sevi and the manager are both ego, or however you call it. The manager, the You, is that silent consciousness out of the conversation that can listen to the dialog or not ... The You doesn't interact in talk...

Working for an NGO, I recently was collecting a few registration forms. Interestingly, for the column 'Occupation', someone had filled out 'self unemployed'. :) Listening to Eckhart, how peaceful it would be if the 'self' is not employed. 🙏
Thank you Eckhart, so many times of my many years this has been my self fulfilling mantra and I chastised myself again for having so little self belief. My cousins sent me a gift of your book at a very low point in my life and whilst at the time I read the words I didn't absorb them fully, until about a year ago. After 4 years of my life just going by and me forgetting who I was. I had an awakening and I started to read and listen to you again and it has been a much more productive year and it's just the middle of a path I've been on for a while. Thank you 🧘♂️🙏

Thanks Eckhart! My self talk leads to self sabotage and destruction but fortunately I did not listen to it and check out. There is nothing to forgive because it is just a false ego and not I. All these negative talks can come from past traumas as well and my hypnotherapist is helping me to realise all these past traumas and negative emotions.
I am 50. Bipolar, ptsd, adhd. Always had tons of repetitive negative self talk. Bad parents since day one. Super sensitive pisces man too. I learned about negative self talk at age 22 ish. I still catch it everyday. My case is bad but Eckhart has helped more than anything, including cognitive behavior therapy and medication to see that ego thinking is tricky and useless torture. Why we have ego is the real question but not NOW. Pun intended.......there is no ego now.
But what of your soul? Nothing Mr Tolle says will bring you everlasting spiritual life. Matthew 7:15 - _"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves."_ - Jesus Jesus is the only answer to your life now, and your life after you return to the dust from whence we all came. He is alive. He did rise on the 3rd day. Around 500 people witnessed it: 1 Corinthians 15:6 - _After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep._ I do not understand why people look everywhere else, to everyone else, for answers, except to Jesus. Seriously, if people were honest with themselves, they would invite Jesus in and see what He has to say: Revelation 3:20 - _"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."_ - Jesus Matthew 11:28-30 - _"Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light"_ - Jesus John 12:35-36 - _"...Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light"_ - Jesus
@@martinscrapp7166 A lot of us love Jesus, but not the church. There is always powers around that want to manipulate us from the truth, even all the Christian churches. But Jesus is everyone’s brother, but the text is manipulated. For me and for Eckhart, we know that we are all one, one with God and one with Jesus and all the Archangels. ”We”might not behave like it, and we might choose a path that is dark. But it is God in us exploring the darkness, it is God in us finding back to light from the darkness in the world, when we meditate with Eckhart Tolle! Or trying any other spiritual path! 🙏❤️ This might not resonate with you. But I can’t do anything about that. That is God in you making that choise. You are exploring that path in this life. He is the mainstream spiritual author. Pleasing what the audience wants to hear there is no real genuine teaching just talking no system no technology. so many speak about it after reading few books doing a research. This is not to discredit or criticize at all Mr Tolle’d contribution for the benefit of many. Yet just pointing out that such teachings do exist including the practical technology to practice - the techniques.
I'm aware that I have created suffering for myself in a situation in my life due to negative self talk but I like what Eckhart mentions in Stillness speaks.. "True freedom and the end of suffering is living in such a way as if you had completely chosen whatever you feel or experience at this moment . This inner alignment with the Now is the end of suffering "
Finally, Eckhart Tolle speaks in the right manner, he has totally entered into direct perception like Krishnamurti and doesn't mention any methods, but aims at the center, the essence. But unfortunately, most of you don't even know who Jiddu Krishnamurti is.
The power that comes from watching your thoughts instead of completely identifying with them is really cool but the more tired / worn out you feel, the harder it can be to separate them and your thoughts can tire you out, it's a bit of a vicious cycle. When well rested it seems easier to separate them.
Really hard one.. humans tend to be more negative than happy. It is weird why it is like that.. wondering. Can't escape this, but the videos are still nice!
Those of you reading this are making a big mistake by striving to improve yourselves. Where there is effort, there is conflict, duality, wasted energy, disappointment, misery, agony, and suffering. When you realize that change doesn't come through effort, you will be fine.
The proof that I'm right is that nobody has liked what I wrote, because you don't understand. You listen to Eckhart Tolle like a bunch of calves, but very few of you actually understand what he's saying. Therefore, your efforts are in vain. Until you realize that change is spontaneous. Unattached desire for change? That's okay. But effort for change? Not okay.

The ego based mind is fear based bc it believes only in form. And form is temporary. So this fear and the false Self’s disconnection from Source create the most disturbing nonsense.
Whenever sexa popups up in my mind with a funny face.. I just smile and tell him to get lost... btw sexa is the name of a comedy character.. ( anxiuos thoughts = sexa ). Fighting my anxiety
I'm on antidepressant it's not the first time. My thoughts are only negative. I have social anxiety and I can't concentrate very well. I don't know what to do. If I stay on meds I feel emotionally pretty bad
