I’d say if you have a wheel, buy Asseto period. Especially with mods you can’t really find many games like it, you can do anything from multiplayer cruising on the Tokyo highway to competitive racing

Theres a lot of dumbasses in the simracing community and most of them have logitech gear driven wheels, so people are not gonna be shitting on your rig. Its only one of the most common wheels (Coming from a G29 owner) Grab an LUT file and you'll be better off than a lot of people from the get go.

I use a 700€ laptop with most stuff on high and it runs great Sure the wheel might be a bit more expensive but you can get a logitech g29 for 200€ and it's perfectly fine and acceptable, also I've used a wheel that cost 100€ new without force feedback and with the shittiest pedals ever for 4 years and still managed to actually race and be somewhat fast

Assetos Handling is amazing, driving anything in that game feels fantastic. But as a game, and a standalone product, its awful. The excuse for a single player carwer is a joke, with no progression whatsoever. The game also lacks the accessibility of games like GT and Forza, being literally unplayable on a gamepad. On PS4, the game has a tendency of crashing when loading into tracks. On PC, the menu is trash, and incredibly sluggish. The server browser is borderline unusable. Mods typically enhance an already great experience for most games. In AC's case however, mods fix the damn game, like AC content manager, which provides a UI thats leagues better than the one in the base game.

These were the problems I personally didn’t want to deal with. I bought the game thinking things would work nicely, but it just became a hassle to setup. I honestly gave up with the setup because I just didn’t have time to sift through the settings to appropriately adjust the wheel or the controller. I went back to GT7 and had a better time; it’s as simple as plug and play.

I’d still recommend ac though as you can chose from hundreds of different and unique mods just for the 1 car and the tracks are endless with sections of roads race tracks and made up tracks as well it’s better then anything forza or gran turismo has to offer with the same cars and tracks that have come out for the past 10 years with not much new being added😂

You Can use CarTuner, you are changing values though, not like installing a turbo

Technically there is unlimited tuning in AC but only for advanced users. Ignoring the CarTuner app, you have to open a car's data files and edit all the values - most of them are labelled on what they do though.

I love assetto but the advice these content creators give out is so dogshit bad like bro they are completely different types of games and only pc players can enjoy the game at its best just shut the fuck up youtube shorts are not the place to be making these comparisons there are like 45 layers to explain and clear up grey areas.

Assetto is overhyped anyway. It could have been updated since I played it back in 2017 but I remember the game feeling like you were driving on an ice rink anytime you lost grip. It wasn’t remotely realistic. If you oversteered even the slightest bit, just a couple degrees, coming out of a corner, even if you immediately lifted, the car would continue to rotate and spin out; even in cars that are suppose to have insane downforce and grip. It got old. People seem to think that just because a game is difficult that it must be a SIM but anyones who driven a car at the limit IRL can attest Assetto Corsa is not realistic.

I’m no professional but I know how cars feel at the edge of grip and Assetto doesn’t simulate that at all. You don’t get the sensation of the tires digging into the road as you do irl if you’re driving correctly, even in street tires. I’ve been driving at the edge of grip for 20 years and I’ve never crashed a vehicle in my life yet in Assetto I would crash often because, like I said, once you lose even the slightest bit of grip, the game makes it feels like you’re on ice and you just keep sliding even on race slicks and only going 60mph. It’s just very clear the tire model/physics in the game doesn’t simulate traction loss realistically as irl tires still have some friction even while spinning or sliding.

Thats how i got all of the Race Sim Studio mods for free. AC ultimate edition with all the dlcs gets discounted all the time and it costs like 10 bucks on steam if you hit the timing right
