One funny thing about the AI at the highest difficulty is that once you actually overtake them, they just give up - they forget how to drive and end up crashing/or taking unusual lines to lose time so it makes the overtake feel way less satisfying/rewarding.
The worst part is, having played the crap out of FH4, I can assure you the AI is similar. Same with 5, but to a bigger degree. They somehow managed to make their AI even worse than before not once, but twice
Halo Infinite and Forza Motorsport have some things in common: -Built from the ground up -6 years of development +delays --Washed out visuals -Lacking features and content at launch -No split screen -Broken functionalities -"platform for the next 10 years"
A lot of devs can't tell the difference between useless time sinks and progression. We should spend time on the game because we want to, not because we have to.
I havent even got to experience the crappy progression system because it runs so bad on my Intel/Nvidia desktop. I have an all AMD laptop that Im going to try on but dang Im disappointed and I didn't even buy it. I grew up with forza series and really want to play it.
@HammySigvard he is, but he also ain't wrong. What Forza games are really worth spending time playing? FM4, maybe FM5/6, FH1, FH2, FH3. Can't say anything else besides those tbh.
It’s cuz Dan Greenawalt isn’t the developer anymore. EVERY single Forza game since 2005 has been with Dan Greenawalt since the beginning and this is the first crappy Forza to come out without Tag in multiplayer and lots of other things.
Why would anyone buy Forza when it's available for pretty much free using game pass? I buy 1 month game pass codes for around $2 a pop from key sellers.
lol that's why they're releasing these games on game pass, just so they can brag about the total amount of people that played the game. I'm sure these games aren't even able to turn a profit
Finally someone who’s invested in the series and knows what they are talking about gives it a fair critique. All points are absolutely true and valid, it’s a baffling and incredibly disappointing game. I’ve played every Forza game at launch, except for 5, and this is easily the biggest let down in the entire franchise.
You’re telling me you have seen these glitches on your play through of the game? How come out of all the videos I’ve seen of this game NOT ONE has show any glitches? This guy is lying and for what? It’s disgraceful!

Also the AI is terrible and will make you want to quit after the first race if you have played a decent racing game in your life. They need to patch it. I miss NFS shift 2 even with it's faults.
we were promised community-building features and yet...no clubs like the old days, no searchable lobbies, and no creative hubs whatsoever, wtf is T10 doing? features like this made the community thrive in FM4's time.
Does anybody knows what TF happened after FM4 ? We all know it was the perfect iteration of the game. All they had to do was to build upon that base into next gen.
All of this for $70 while you could get a decently working used Xbox 360 with all the cables/controller for $50 and Forza Motorsport 4 for around $10 - $20. They’re making more money than ever and putting out absolute garbage. At some point you’ve got to blame consumers. Most gamers are addicts and will pay to play anything, no matter how much they’re warned that the game is garbage.
The fact the restart and skip options are in the 'exit' submenus is a clear example that the people making the game lack fundamental understanding of how any game should work, and the standards and practices developed not just for the entire industry over the past 30 years, but for their own specific franchise have just been lost to time.
@@chrismusiclover9893 not everything is about graphics to me and I’m not like other people. There’s many other things the new Forza is lacking to what it once had.

Gt was the oposite to this, it was a very polished game , it was neat but it lacked q lot of content, this one is more on the clusterfuck side but it has a lot of content
I'm convinced AAA devs nowadays never played the past titles of the one they're working on. They always want to start from scratch and introduce new things but seem to always miss because they removed what made past titles great...
well considering this is a "reboot" of the franchise and how poor FM7 was for majority of people that wanted a motorsport game to be sim and not arcade (if you want arcade go play forza horizon) they had to build from the ground up which is why we dont have any tracks we had in other motorsports yet because they are still working on updating them to the new games handling model and updating track layouts to better represent the irl track.
And the most confusing part about all of this is that this Forza Motorsport has the *same* director who has been here since Forza 1. He's the same guy behind Forza Motorsport 2,3, and 4, which are seen as the best games in the franchise And yet he managed to mess up this game
The fact the restart and skip options are in the 'exit' submenus is a clear example that the people making the game lack fundamental understanding of how any game should work, and the standards and practices developed not just for the entire industry over the past 30 years, but for their own specific franchise have just been lost to time.

6 years to recycle even fh1 models, this is the true triple A experience we expected from turn10. No wonder why they have been killing the series after releasing fh3
Ya I truly stopped playing forza after FM3. FM2 and FM3 will always be my favs. The new Forza is honestly even worse than FM7 with only 500 vehicles and the multiplayer just sucks compared to FM7 I miss the Tag Virus mode.
6 years between FM7 and this. I bought it and played it. It simultaneously feels like a pre-Alpha build for FM7 and also FM7.2 at the same time. No experimental drag and no drift lobbies and drift events despite all the work they put in to put that stuff in the game in the last game. But yet it feels like they slightly improved the racing in general from FM7. Its like what the hell were they doing for 6 years????
And yet drift suspension is still in the game, its almost like they plan to add stuff if y'all would give some decent feedback for once instead of complaining more than a woman.

@@leoortiiizAgreed. I'm straight up sick to death of folk defending these shoddy practices/companies. The "AAA" gaming space has become a joke, with each company just trying to out-profit the other, and with absolutely zero regard for the consumer. Everyone asking why this game took 6 years. The answer is that it didn't. It probably took "A" year and with a very small team working on it. They (as noted in the video) mostly copied assets they already had and just did the bare minimum to call this a "new" game. Sadly... just like EA/Activision/Ubisoft do every year or two with their awful "AAA" games (FIFA/NBA/COD/FARCRY/ASSASSIN's CREED)....
And this is why I am cautious when watching reviews from companies like IGN because this isn’t the first time that they did not mention bugs, issues, and other complaints present in games that come out. There's just no need for these shittily driving games. There's too much great driving content as is. Who cares about RPG elements in racing anyways, that's dumb af
Developers often lie about "development " time as a marketing tool. They might start planning for the game a long time prior to the release, and use that as a reference point for development time. Most of the time, full manpower is not set in until the last year prior to release or, just like so many other things in the coorporate word, development time is more or less a lie.

Its insane they have drift suspension without drift tires, but also drag tires with no use for them as well. It almost seems intentional, like it was out of spite or something. Its quite difficult to be incompetent in such a specific and ironic way.
My guess is the drag racing and drifting events will be coming at, or soon after the full launch. Why its not here now when the tires/suspension is i cant answer. But on the plus side they said all future tracks are going to be free, and ive seen no system that could be leading into microtransactions so far. That being said, it looks like the main thing the $30 premium upgrade gets you is the car pass and vip thing. All other future content being free. If thats going to be the case, then thats a plus at least.

They were incredibly dishonest when they showcased the advanced ray tracing and track assets and car models in that 2022 demo, but what we've got instead is a watered down downgraded version. Just go watch it. They don't even push the visuals on PC reasonably above Xbox Series X's graphics.
Even the Series X graphics can look a little underwhelming at times. I have my graphics settings on Performance RT, and notice that on about 2 of the maps lose FPS. I know that it’s the Ray Tracing setting, but it’s *performance* ray tracing. On a console that outperforms most mid range PCs in most games (looking at you MWII). I would say that the issues are because it just got released, but if it’s been in development for almost 10 years then there’s no excuse to have these glitches. I’ve never experienced them myself other than the FPS issue, but if there are known issues that are longer than your average CVS receipt, then this game should not have come out. It’s just down right not acceptable. Even studios like Insomniac know this and have a 60 FPS Ray Tracing option for Spider-Man 2, and they’re not as big as Turn 10. Bigger companies and studios need to realize that we prioritize good gameplay over graphics. While good graphics are nice, they should replace good gameplay. This is exactly why the Batman Return to Arkham games are still great 😂

We are in the age of broken AAA videogames, so its a bit naive to think this game would work properly. Also, didnt gran turismo 5 use the same kind of level system?
GT5's leveling system was better (but still bad) Because to upgrade your cars, your only handicap would be your own money if you don't have enough. However, to progress through the License Tests or BUY CARS you had to be at certain level to do it.
I've never played gt5 myself, but i think it's also comparable to the wait for gt5. There’s countless other basic details they’ve omitted in the game that I don’t even have enough room here to type out. I don’t blame turn 10 though, this is 100% the gamepass effect. Way back in the FM3 and FM4 days, I was so looking forward to the day that Forza Motorsport would be able to properly rival and beat Gran Turismo. As each non Horizon title came, an went, Turn 10 seemed to fall off more and more with being a true racer as it had felt before. Now FM is just a shadow of its former self as the Horizon titles take more and more precedence over the game that put Turn 10 on the map to begin with.
During FM1 to FM4 I see they are really making the franchise to be the GT’s competitor But Forza Motorsport these days they are more like the bootleg GT for Xbox and PC than GT competitor
Oh their devs and tester definetly told management that the game was not ready for release. But it was published anyways because people keep buying and pre ordering broken stuff. So why would they care releasing a working game if a broken one is making them money anyways without putting in the extra work
So people complained about Forza having no meaningful progression and they tried to fix it with grind. Brilliant. Now whoever was on a fence will just skip this game entirely.
FM8 is basically following the steps of other Microsoft franchises where people behind series are replaced by people who not only weren't ever part of the series but never even had experience in the same genre. Dan was replaced by the new game director Chris Esaki who is famous for: Jade Empire, Gears of War (1&2), Mass Effect, Lips, Kinect Star Wars. What could have gone wrong?
Your point is nonsense. Dan Greenawalt was creative director of Turn 10. All of the Horizon games were developed in the UK by Playground Games, who had their own studio head(s). The only input from Turn 10 was some of the underlying technology.
“We are rebuilding the game from the ground up” yet they have copied and pasted stuff, and left out other things that the previous games had, like drag strips, drift events, and drift cars/tires. I hope they fix some stuff in future updates like they did with Horizon 5

@@justinkostick9048 if you had to ramp up the difficulty then that means you were playing at easier settings. CONGRATULATIONS YOU JUST PLAIED YOURSELF! Maybe go to pro or veteran then we will talk. And you telling me to get good? I was talking from experience since I play at pro with keyboard so F off The first 3 cars always have a good lead after the first quarter of the race from the rest of the pack
the only thing i disagree with is you said the physics are great. they are not. race cars aren't tail happy IRL. race cars also steer without tires SCREAMING. the physics are absolute garbage
5:32 more people should be angry about this. The massive differences between the reveal trailer and the delivered game is frankly UNACCEPTABLE for a Triple-A Microsoft game.
I wasn’t thinking of buying this game and I sure as hell won’t now😂 thanks for saving me my money and my sanity. Love you Shinyodd. Keep up the good work you absolute legend, always a pleasure and never a chore to have you around. I hope you’re doing well.
Just a slight correction with powershifting: They haven't really removed powershifting, in fact using manual w/ clutch is still doing the opposite of what you just said. Just look at Just Devon's recent video and the in-game leaderboards
I pre-ordered the premium upgrade to play this game early. Played through the introductory races with the E-ray and the Cadillac LMP. Both cars drove like the front tires were made of plastic, especially the E-ray. Chose the Civic Type-R as my first car and, lo and behold, not only did it also feel like it had plastic front tires, but literally ANY amount of throttle input caused it to completely lose all turning ability and just plow right off the track. I finally managed to finish the first career race in third place...only for the game to crash and soft lock my entire PC, forcing me to reboot. Also I was barely able to maintain 60 FPS with ray tracing disabled on a 7900XTX.
I've long thought that the people responsible for this game aren't motorsport fans, or don't much watch much real life racing. They don't understand what motorsport is, or what motorsport fans really want. Why a game that has "motorsport" in the title would put so much emphasis on pretty unexciting road cars in the career mode honestly baffles me. A motorsport game should be about letting people to drive the sort of classics, exotics and racing cars that you'd never get chance to in real life, not grinding boring slow shitboxes.
We simply aren't allowed to have a good racing sim / simcade title with a decent career mode. Whenever it's attempted, someone travels back in time and sabotages the project.
