This phone is built for people that go out hiking, mountain climbing and other stuff that entails you needing a waterproof, dust proof and anti drop phone, you can have a galaxy s8 or an iPhone 7 as your primary device but when you go out and do some of those activities pop your sim card from your primary device into this phone and after finishing those activities put the simcard in your primary device. That is the use for this phone.

I think we all can agree that this phone was a dealbreaker just from that battfield picture missing the "d"

honestly for a person that needs a rugged phone that barely needs a smartphone it would be good. use it primarily as a phone, check an email once in a while. i had a sonim for a work phone and i used it like i described but it was a bit heavy and big. this could be a good replacement for a sonim user. great video as always though!

I got one of these a few months back to use as a permanently bicycle mounted device. It's been pretty good except that the battery drops off super fast below 60%. Probably just a capacity reporting error. It's great for what I use it for.

It's most likely for people who work on a construction site or wherever like that, plumbers and so on, it seems like a strong durable phone made for making calls on a construction area and taking a few pictures that don't have to be of good quality

If it had a usb c instead of a micro usb I would buy one. Just to use it as an external screen for the DJI OSMO pocket. I would just dedicate it to that one purpose. It is big enough to be more useful than the built in screen on the DJI and cheap enough I wouldn't give a shit if the usb c port went bad.

About the pricing for phones these days in the questions section of the video...do you think these phones are priced as they are these days because of the upgrade programs? I mean, it's like leasing a car. You are paying the depreciation of the device over the term until you get the new one. I really doubt anyone is paying the full amount for the s8, note 8, and iphone X these days. I mean, do the math for the people on the upgrade programs (from the companies, network providers, etc) and the consumer is only paying 599.40 for the phone (minus taxes). It's just an interesting thing to think about, and it seems to be totally ignored by most of the folks talking about the price points on the high end devices. Like cars, if the leasing programs weren't available, they probably wouldn't be at their current price points.

At 2.4", Its more akin to typing on a smart watch than a phone. So don't rage too hard about the typing. That wifi on the other hand is woeful, but at that screen size its not like youre using it for heavy browsing or streaming of video so its not as important. While its screen res isn't HD or anything, it does sport an A7 quad 1.3Ghz processor running android 5.1, which with such a small screen size means it should be pretty zippy. As what really chews processor on flagship phones is super high res displays they have now. I feel it would be well suited for someone to use as a backup / camping, running, hiking phone. Compact, fairly powerful and seemingly fairly tough. plus if you trashed it on a rock or it sunk it into the abyss you wouldn't be crying.
