Tip 2 is what I am working on. Can’t help but open that face in the take away and hence hit a slice. Have to work hard on the brush take away and keep the face closed. Great advice as ever

For driver I go for an overly strong grip and its made me hit it far cleaner and with a good chance of a draw to straight shot. I hit a p4 green in one yesterday for the first time, 298 yards. Still only made par 🤦‍♂️

Great tips! I'm capable of 300 yard drives but this season struggled with 260 yards massive loss of distance and after looking at my swing.......releasing too early and after a few hours practice we are back with the bombs!

Thanks. TR Red I see, I would have thought you would have fit better into the blue. No specifics though, there are lots of mix and match reasons for what works. Great shaft though in all 6. It really does work.

I have a lower left back problem and hitting the driver especially makes it worse due to the fact that I hit it harder than the irons in general, you want to get as far as possible with it. I would be happy hitting it 240-250 but without the pain, any recommendations? :D

Great video as always, Coach Fryer! The towel drill is an amazing idea! Could you do a video dealing with over-swinging and tensing up muscles? Possibly tips on ways to prevent it?

It seems for me when I put the ball that far forward I mostly duck hook it? Is that b/c my step 2 n 3 is off??

I'm with Scott, Tip 2, starting the takeaway correctly is my Achilles heel. Getting the club in the right position at the top is key for me. Nice one, Matt 👍🏻

Brilliant video, Matt, thank you. I am 22.6 handicap at the moment, I am straight with my driver, but I have been guilty of moving both feet at setup. I have always remebered your advice about line the ball up to the lead heel. My club pro pointed out to me that when I used to slice, I had an alignment issue with my shoulders to target which he proved with an alignment cane. My problem is not getting up on the ball enough, so my distance is not great, despite the arc of my swing being good. It could be that I am bringing the power in too soon. Thank you.

Just for feed back, Matt. I tried things out at the driving range today, since seeing this video that I commented on 2 days back, and it works. I was de-lofting the driver club face from the position where my arms were too far forward. I can get much more on the up with the stroke now really well, now that I have corrected the shaft angle. Ball height is much better.Thank you.

When I was a kid, I cut a wooden baseball bat at the sweet spot and attached a towel to it. Learned it from a coach at Amherst college. It’s the exact same principle, Carry the momentum and all the power should be at a snap point in the swing. It also helps build more power with the air resistance. I guess I never thought of it applying to golf, but it makes sense.

I have seen small step with lead foot and large step with back foot for driver set up. I like your method better. I think it will help me hit it higher. Thanks Matthew!

It's quite incredible, I have been crowning a few balls with my driver, so last night I was at the range working on not moving my lead food too forward of the ball, and then I see this video today! It was great confirmation that I was on the right track with my self diagnosis. Thanks Matt!!
