I love Apple Maps and I hate Apple Maps. I can never find saved locations so I wrote a shortcut that makes it easy to save and find map locations in my Apple Notes Second Brain folder.

My job requires me to have a lot of technical information and "cheat sheets" at my fingertips. Because of that, I've been using some sort of personal digital assistant for many years. I used to search endlessly for the perfect app to handle the job on my iPhone, until I discovered it was there all along, already built into the phone, and seamlessly integrated into the whole Apple ecosystem. For me, the thing that makes it even more powerful is the Shortcuts App, because with a few shortcuts, I can easily catalog and find the information I need, quickly. This series of clips explains how my shortcuts work and why they are so useful.

IOS 14 UPDATE:
Tags seems to be fixed in the Find Notes action!
Possible bug with Find Notes causing the action to sometimes appear as a “Filter Note” with no way to enter criteria.

Great and super useful shortcut! Many thanks!!! There is only one snag: every time I run the shortcut, it asks to select an appropriate tag from the list of tags I already have in Notes app. Not a big deal, but in your demonstration it worked flawlessly. Once again - great and practical shortcut!

Try checking the “Create Tag” Action. Make sure it has a value. I used EDCLocation. If it’s good then please make sure the “Add Tag” action that is below it is referencing the created tag. You can long press the “Tag”, select variables then select “Tag”. I hope this solves the problem. Thanks for watching and for your kind words!

Somehow I've tied myself in knots with this one! I am running 17.4.1. iPad mini 6. I am struggling to move actions, I grab hold of a completed action move it up or down the list but the action moves to a what appears to me to be a random position in the list not where I want it. this has happened a number of times and even after deleting most actions it still occurs. I g

Just started again from scratch and when I get to create note ... after if provided input .....the action moves itself to just below copy text to clipboard ?

@@kelvinmcI think it is a bug on iPads. I have the same problem on my mini also. When it happens, I just tap the new action and allow it to be added to the bottom. I can either drag it from there or I can Copy and paste above/below where it needs to go. Sometimes just exiting out of Shortcuts and coming back in fixes it.
