On today's 2 minute garden tip, I explain when is the best time to transplant vegetables into your vegetable garden. Transplanting crops is stressful to the plants, and transplanting at the wrong time can harm or even kill young transplants. Don't get burned! This is the best time to plant your veggies!
This advice is also applicable to planting fruit trees. Planting trees at the wrong time of the day increases stress, so choose the ideal weather and time of day to transplant.

Maybe describing the ideal conditions to transplant is better than suggesting specific times of the day since the climate varies so much depending on location. In south Florida, for example, at 3:00PM yesterday, it was 93F and the sun was most intense. I'll wait until after 7:00PM when the temps drop, and the sun has started to set.

Do you have shade cloth? If not, I urge you to get some. It's life-changing: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cO-U1wYGZ8Q.htmlsi=VyQkRAQl-MBTf-pk

Yep, have to use shade cloth in nw high Nevada desert. At we still get in the 30s so still have to wait. It always amazes me how the temperature differs from area to area. Mother Nature keeping us on our toes I guess 🤷‍♀️. 👵🏻👩‍🌾❣️

Thank you! It’s going to be a cool, cloudy day here today and I’ll be sure to get my plants in. Im thinking a few days of shade cloth over new transplants when I don’t have the opportunity to plant on a cloudy day. We often have foggy mornings then full sun later in the day. Loving these short videos!!

Do you have a video on other things you can do with coffee grounds? I am looking for things to do with them after the compost pile hits maximum, thinking of spreading them in beds of things like lettuce and onions all winter things that can use the nitrogen.

In the heat of the summer do you add shade cloth to any of your summer vegetables. I'm zone 7b. Northern part of Alabama. It never fails that we go through a drought for several weeks and the heat is just brutal. Seems to cause my tomato plants lots of stress. Contemplating the idea or rigging up shade cloth over the tomatoes to give them some shade during that time. Thoughts, ideas needed please!

I live in Arkansas and I have to use shade cloth over my tomatoes because it gets so hot the blooms fall off. I actually spend a little more money and get white shade cloth. Living in the south makes gardening challenging but so rewarding too. Best of luck. 🌺🌺
