Play your game... not the game of that guy that can throw a putter 500ft. Do the work and be secure about your game, so that you don't fall into the trap of changing discs on the Teepad just to appear cooler or that you can throw farther...further? Focus on your game plan and let the other guys try to keep up with that big armed monkey! :D

Good stuff! My sons throw putters and I'm throwing fairway drivers, but that's my game and I usually take the win. Its important to not only know your game, but play your game!!

Try your local with 2 discs (no putter and no favorite driver) then try as many odd throws with them as possible... I'm trying a Roller drive with my Tesla on every hole I can... Parked a LOT... nearly pinned a 80m across a deep (10m) grass chute, practice shot... (only for it to miss the pin by about 1 ft, turn and disappear for the next 2 rounds while I completed a local PDGA 20 hole winter round q8D ok so not always advisable just before a series round...

I have done a lot of that in the past... especially when I hurt my shoulder ... I would play forehand rollers only... almost got it to hit a rock and jump the creek on hole 18... good thing the water was low. :D You and I must think alike... I had just seen your comments above, and before I saw this one I said to myself "I should film a roller only round" and then I saw this comment. Funny. I appreciate you watching and keep the comments coming. :D

@@ogdiscgolfer I have a flippy Beast for drive rollers but they are so dicey to get between a fade out flat, cut roller and flip over.. I just stick with overhead and get it to ground... I've seen so many people throw way out of jail on a Hyzer (an Hyzer?...) uhh , way out trying to get round a tree and leave themselves a long upshot/putt back, where a vertical roller just runs a nice half circle round and back.. I just love it when you try something stupid... and it pays off... Was playing in 30-40k winds a few weeks back (The Driver only round was hilarious.. who woulda thought my putter of choice would be an inverted Rive)... Anyhooze, stuck in jail 20ft from a basket in.. I guess a prison cell (same stand of bare ground tight small trees)... open to the right.. wind from the right... thought.. soft Hyzer, let the wind catch it.. Dang if it didn't go out, catch the wind, flip vertical and blow back in to the pin. Any other day and it would have been closest available and back at my feet. I do like on casual rounds, to attempt jail shots that others put themselves into .. sometimes just to make them feel better that at least their bad scavenge didn't end up behind them like my try did...

My local best round was a Pig only round I did, I only beat by 1 stroke a year later. I throw a putter full rip on several holes (MVP Proxy) as I can park it, and if I stuff up... the putter doesn't go all that wayward. On one hole, (Berhampore Wellington NZ #3) it's 300ft down hill about 40 ft... I can get there in tail/cam wind with the putter and be 20ft off with a bad throw. Putters also tend to 'Sit Ubu Sit" instead of skipping off into the wilderness. I also have an RPM Kea in base plastic that is beaded and sticky for longer shots... I used the pig until it was so beat in it was understable. Never be afraid to try something odd... You might just find the Tesla does 280ft straight as a die if you throw it full force 30ft out into the ground in an overhead 1pm roller. Or facing forward open stance and yeeting a scorch straight arm out to the right while staring at the target may just give you the old skool hyzer arc that lands inline with the target nearly every time (tho remembering that that scorch skips on 20ft may remind you to aim right...). (I've bullseyed peoples bags on my walk back from practice baskets) (BTW I'm 55, been playing 2.5 years, bag exactly 20 discs (ADD has me leaving them behind so much, 5 groups of 4 is easier to keep track of.. color coded so I can quickly see whats missing.. and I know my old friends as I've been throwing most of them since I started with my 10 disc bag) and love putting my discs in stupid places jut to see what I do to get out... (working on skip shots with the Tesla and Scorch at the mo...)

Thanks for that! the comment about the 20 discs and color coded made me laugh because I soooo get that! I just put a Proxy, a Spin, and a really beat Pig back into the bagt wo days ago because I realized I have gotten too minimal with my bag. I play Inverness so much, and a lot of times as a 1 disc round, that I am forgetting how much I like to throw putters and midranges on different lines. I think the putter throwing aspect of the game is so important, but then I get comfortable just throwing Bergs and Birdies. It is one of the negatives to playing the same course repeatedly... you can get lazy on your game/shot choices. Thanks for watching, and for being older than me :D

@@ogdiscgolfer Something for you to try... in a crosswind, grab a proxy, put your back to the wind and go for that long putt. I find the proxy just understable enough to fight into the wind while the wind wants to flip it up.. the result is straight in a crosswind putts. (Now if only I could actually get them in.. ahh but that would just be showing off).. I mentioned in another post my backhand S with an RPM Kea... of course it's the same shot you do Forehand flick... I'm almost standing the same, just reaching round the left with a forehand.
