A list of cards that you shouldn't use Imperm on, with some better alternatives. It's very tempting to negate the first monster effect your opponent plays however this will often lead to wasting your card as you failed to hit your opponents choke point.

- I play almost exclusively on Master Duel, banlists and meta may differ from TCG/OCG.
- While I've played Yugioh for many years, I am fairly new at playing near the top end of a ranked ladder, so my knowledge of the game may not be perfect.

7:30 I go back and forth between impeming reinoheart or kitkallos, but you should absolutely imperm supreme sea mare, as doing that can stop them from ending on a tear name to render all the backrow live

@@TheNIKOLASRBIN probably because it plays into Talents and Thrust and it can only be used during your opponent’s main phase. Honestly, Veiler is better as a Crossout target to negate your opponent’s. That’s how I used it in my old deck.

The only thing I have to mention is if Accel Stardust cannot synchro, you cannot use its tribute effect. If you cannot make a synchro afterwards, it is not possible to use, thanks to it being a mandatory, not optional, synchro effect. It does it immediately after the effect resolves, which happens mid chain if you chained it to something.

I was at a locals and Ashed Stratos. My opponent just summoned a second stratos and still got the search. So yeah, don’t negate stratos

Hold imperm for Turb is not a right choice now when S:P is in the game you need stop them before that or Imperm just dont do anything when S:P on field, and you definally imperm Wagon if it your only handtrap since now soul piercer at 1 it not likely they hard draw it if they get access to piecer imperm on link 1 not gonna stop them and if they already hard draw other starter 1 imperm mean nothing to them

Correction on traptrix, they are only unaffected if link summoned or they have materials, if they use holeyk to revive sera, you can use trap on her.

Side bar: Lab players can imperm things like raye or a level 1 with linkuriboh in grave provided they control lovely and the opponent does not control more set cards than you have traps you could and would chain.

Other cards i usually reccomend to negate are the normal summons of every deck that makes use of it. Many times they either rely on the normal summon, It helps to strenghten their board. So a good negation for the normal summon of most decks can really be painful. This also applies to most link 1 monsters, they are very powerful within their Archetypes and might stop them dead on their tracks for that turn.

Hot take for me Imperm is the best handtrap, it can be used as a hand trap and can also be used as a board breaker. Top deck imperm has saved my ass more time than I can count lol

Also, Make sure your opponent attempts to activate the effect you want to Imperm. If you don't, then they could summon another copy and just activate the effect again. I learned that the hard way against Rescue Ace 😭

Negate ash isn't really a foolproof solution, if your hand plays better after you deny the field spell then negate poplar. negate ash is only good when you're really betting on your opponent not playing the game after the negate.
