Talk is not my favourite squad mate and I hardened on her significantly for how much of a zealot she is against the geth… but damn, she broke my heart here. A great performance for sure.

I mean.. Shepard does survive in the Destroy Ending with enough War Assets. You can just pretend he goes back to Tali after they dig him out of the rubble. :P

TheOldOne and she has a better character development, she goes from being semi-racist to aliens and soon enough she realizes the importance of them and the friendship she develops. She truly does go a long way to make her family name proud
@@ladyselin35 Nah. The game series goes out of its way to make Liara official Shepard wife. She's the only character you have romance scenes with in all three games. You can stay faithful to Kaidan or Ash and get a letter from them in ME2, but Liara "saves" Shepard, gets a romantic scene with them, and gets a complete character makeover to make her a super powerful social manipulator in direct contrast with her entire personality from ME1 in ME2. And an end scene in ME3 where you mind meld with her regardless of your romance choices (something only ever shown as romantic in the first two games.) Game desperately wants you to be with Liara and short shrifts everyone else to make her the "canon" choice. (I'm not saying this as a Liara lover, quite the opposite. The way the games railroad Liara make me romance anyone else other than her because I hate when games pretend to have romance choices, yet railroad you towards the ones they prefer.)

Mistrustful of Aliens at first, maybe (given her family history) - but in ME1 she calls out Terra Firma on being xenophobes and racists, volunteers to work with Kirrahe, absolutely despises Ceberus in ME2 and defends the council with her life in ME3. Not to mention she's far more accepting if you break up with her over Tali in ME3 (whom she considers a little sister).

A lot of people condemn her because she doesn't want to immediately get on board with Xenophiles, and considering how her family got screwed because of the First Contact War, it's totally understandable. The Turians went "Shoot first, ask questions later" on the humans who were attempting to open an uncharted Mass Relay, instead of initiating communications and informing said humans that they were in breach of galactic law. The whole First Contact War could've been avoided if Turian command wasn't so gun-happy. Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but if a species was willing to put a bullet in my head over a parking ticket, I'd be a little cautious around them too.
Tali's voice actress was superb at catching the needed emotion and tone of all her dialogue. I love the series but I wish the other characters reflected each other better in conversing
+Maggie Wang That's because EDI's character was surprisingly one of the best written characters. She's an AI and that's given her the chance to have the most development and to eventually feel emotions. that's what gets to us

I know Harby was the heart of the reapers but it would of been so awesome if he had turn rouge and joined the fight to stop this Reaper Harvest after the events of mass effect 2 using a body in the same fashion as EDI
Javik's one hurts a lot considering he isn't a romance option. All I see is a warrior who's slept and waited for 50,000 years to avenge the souls of his fallen brothers... and injury sidelines him right at the most critical moment of the battle. He has to watch the fate of the galaxy unfold from the sidelines. In the end, his presence on the battlefield won't be the defining factor between victory or defeat. He's overcome with grief not because of loss or a broken heart, but of the realization of his own insignificance.
Whether they win or lose, he knows he's failed his mission. He's contributed basically nothing to the war effort, other than potentially guarding Shepard a few times. Something that could've been done adequately by others.
I strongly disagree, Shepard survived that long because his allies, he's a super soldier yeah, but also human he could've died many times but their companions saved his life many times, and if you talk with Javik enough you can see he respects Shepard even if he disagree with Shepard's decisions or philosophy (if Shepard is Paragon) but still he follows him and respect Shepard's orders. it's sad because the way he looks Shepard isn't frustration or anger, is just the sadness of seeing a friend/comrade running alone to the death like probably Javik have seen many times in the past. Even more when Shepard use Paragon dialogue. And if at that point you don't let Javik touch the memory shard-- he talks about his plans for the future, writing a book with Liara or living like a king with the Hanar. Regardless everything he says that it was a privilege to serve him. I think that your comment can be true if you let him touch the memory shard.

Garrus, Tali and Liara have clearly the best lines! The "I already have a home" and "I am yours" always get me... And Garrus is the coolest alien space bro since Chewbacca, he has the funniest und coolest lines. The last one is nod different: "And you have got to be kidding me"
IT HURTS ME SO MUCH. I am always a complete mess at this and femshep's goodbye to a romanced Garrus. "If I'm up there in that bar and you're not... I'll be looking down. You'll never be alone." Hale's voice is breaking there too and I remember seeing clips of an interview with her saying that was the hardest line to record in all of the trilogy. That she kept telling herself Shepard doesn't cry.

I really heard this in my head but instead because he considers Shepard a brother he says my kids are gonna need their uncle Shepard to babysit all of them.
All of these are pretty god damn emotional and have kicked me in the feels countless times, but after rewatching it, I just realised how surprisingly sad Javik's is. :C
and I dont know if is because in my second playthrough I kinda like James but it was sad to see his departure. I always take my romance to this mission cause it haves more emotional weight, but James and Javik get to you
TheOldOne Yeah, but Shepard won't allow that. Javik doesn't actually agree, he is just pulled back and he is too injured to fight back. That explosion fucks up your squad pretty bad.

Romanced Liara throughout all three which made me tear up a bit. But when Garrus said goodbye I was crying more for some reason, probably because he's one of the best supporting characters ever made in gaming history...that might have something to do with it?
There’s just something about the final conversation you have with Garrus…About meeting him in that bar up in heaven, and who is buying drinks. He really is a goddamn legend. The best friend a friend could ask for.
The Javik goodbye is kind-of sad. The once called "Primitive" was his only real friend after he lost his entire race, and you can tell he didn't want him to die as Shepherd didn't want him to die either despite Javik not caring for his own life. I think in that moment, Javik had a newfound respect for him that he never knew he would develop.
makes me angry that if you romanced someone in ME2 we get a freaking farewell in a hologram message! all LIs should be available on this part of the game
Yep, stick with Miranda for ME3 and all we got was that hologram message. It wasn't bad (she seems to be most affectionate of all), but it just doesn't have the same impact. Picked Ashley for second play and ... kinda disappointing. There isn't much difference between "friend Ash" and "romanced Ash". There's like two extra lines and brief sex scene, but that's about it. She pretty much acts the same. Miranda at least acts slightly differently toward you based on whatever you romanced her or not. She's more relaxed, witty and flirty in scenes if you romanced her in ME2, and bit more private and distant if you did not. She shows great respect for you either way.
Yep for someone who likes romancing jack or Miranda, me 3 severely cuts them out of everything. You barely see them and instead of a meaningful farewell hug or kiss moment they shove that into a hologram. 🙄

shadowstarthe1st Yes she will? If you dont half ass your playthrough, the Mass relays are only lightly damaged, so it takes months to fix them, meaning Tali will get back to Rannoch within a year. With my Shepard, because fuck you Bioware, killing my goddamn character is stupid, and not giving me a chance of an epilogue if I did live is goddamn retarded.

Damn the emotion put into the Goodbye with Tali and Garrus Romances. "I have a home....." "Shepard......I.......Love you too.." The fact that you could tell it was breaking Shep's heart when they yell to Go even as Tali or Garrus reach for them. Fucking tearing at my heartstrings man.

I played the Tali romance in my first walkthrough, and when she said, "I already have a home," I almost lost it. :'( I also never thought EDI's scene would be so sad either, but leave it to Tricia Helfer to work her magic!
These are some really high quality, emotional scenes (most of them at least). Before the LE, I never played the series after the original ME3 ending, so I had never seen these before. I'm glad Harbinger is such a bro and lets you guys have your goodbyes instead of vaporizing everyone while you're sitting there chatting.
Tali and Garrus were always Mass Effect's best characters. Playing with anyone else in your squad besides Legion for his short duration on the team is just doing it wrong.
Manuel Sacha Using cheat codes on gta 5 is one thing, but it shouldn't be done to mass effect. Mods are okay too, as far as the cosmetics of the game go, armor and weapons as well, but mods that screw with the story shouldn't be even exist.
Since I romance Kaiden his made me tear up a BIT but when Tali said "I have a home".. The tears flowed.. and it takes A LOT for me to just shred a tear. Mass Effect will always hold a special place in my heart.

been on that route too, the emotions were intense when i blowed up the reapers for good briefly showing her befor me being caught up in the explosion. This feel train was no joke.
Heres the thing, he can survive in the destroy ending so you could say after he got fixed up he would manage to find a way to make contact with Tali to let her know hes still alive until they can meet back up again.

I Romanced liara in the LE just recently and when she says ‘I am yours’ it’s just such a tear jerking considering she’s only 109 and Asari can live for hundreds of years. She’s so dedicated to shepherd and the fact that she’s in the teaser for the new game makes me even more excited. I’ll always love you liara, my little space blueberry.
4:16 Garrus is male Shepard’s best friend, no his brother, you can even hear Garrus’s voice break when he tells him to stay alive. 3:47 I’m so glad I got Shepard to stay alive at the end of this game, I need Shepard and Tali to be happy together.
Ash's romance was the most powerful, her "With all due respect..." line was a fantastic callback to her most remembered phrase from ME1. Really felt like time went full circle with that one. Especially her line about her saying she can do this too, again to show her growth from doubting herself and her Williams curse from ME1. So much went wrong 3 but in this moment, they nailed it perfectly. Beautifully done.
I never realized EDI could have dialogue here, and it's much more unique here because you can see the robot body and voice is heavily damaged. It's pretty emotional since EDI *is* the Normandy.
Hello four years into the future! It's true the platform is disposable, but EDI can still help, and most important of all, she, as the Normandy, has the responsibility of saving all the others. That's why Shep says it's a moral order, because even though it strategically doesn't make sense, there's no point winning a war if the loved ones that motivate you to fight are gone. It's akin to saying "initiate repairs, get the rest out of here, they need you more than I do".
Because they couldn't think of a way to properly include Edi without ruining the cutscene guess they didn't think of just making her permanently the only one who didn't get injured.
