In this video we check out 4 really awesome alternatives to popular Sydney tourist attractions here in Australia. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the list of attractions i mentioned, i just wanted to throw some other options for you to consider when you do make a visit to sydney :) In order of appearance:
1. Bridge Climb Alternative: Sydney Pylon Lookout
Now one of most iconic landmarks of Sydney, is the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You can drive across it, take a train across it and even walk across it.
but one of the most unique experiences would be to actually climb the bridge and get to the top of Sydney Harbour Bridge. Having said that the bridge climb costs anywhere between $268 - $400 dollars and might not suit everyone's budget.
The alternative to the Bridge Climb is to get on top of one of the Sydney Harbour Pylons. The south east pylon has been open to the public since 1934 and takes around 200 steps to get to the very top. Here, you get sweeping views of the city of Sydney, the water, the Opera house and of course, front row seats to the Sydney Harbour Bridge itself.
Address: 100 cumberland street the rocks sydney 2000
Entry fees: $19 AUD per adult
2. Sydney Cruise / Water taxi Alternative: Take a Ferry!
You can explore and experience the amazing sights by simply taking one of Sydney’s Ferries. If you’re short on time, take the ferry from Darling Harbour to Circular Quay, it’s around 20 minutes and you zip under the bridge and around the opera house. Alternatively if you have a bit more time, take the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly.
Go on the ferry on a Sunday, the prices are capped at $2.80, so you can take all the ferries, to manly and back, around the harbour, all for $2.80.
3. Fine Dining Alternative : William Blue Dining

If you are looking for a fine dining experience, one place I’d really recommend you try is a placed called William Blue Dining, where you can enjoy affordable multi award winning fine dining at The Rocks.
Every time that I’m there, It is always an enjoyable dining experience - we always get amazing service and a delicious meal prepared by chefs in training. Going for the full 3 course would set you back $46, which is a fraction of what fine dining typically costs here in Sydney.
Address:
107 George St, The Rocks NSW 2000
Full 3 course meal: $46 AUD
4. Sydney Tower Eye: Blu Bar on 36
Although not as high as Sydney Tower Eye, being on the 36th floor, you are floating high above The Rocks., And with the 29 dollars you would’ve spent on admission fees, at the Sydney Tower Eye, why not grab a couple beers or one of their signature cocktails instead?
Address: 176 Cumberland St, Sydney NSW 2000
