True Story: I remember when Clayton County got the C-tran bus and everyone started moving out there. Then, years later they just snatched away the bus service leaving many people without a way to and from work. People actually lost their jobs behind that fiasco. The next time they asked the residents of Clayton County did they want to join MARTA, after decades of voting against it, the referendum somehow passed overwhelmingly.
@@rawdagawd409 stop playing. Lithonia is harder than Decatur and East Atlanta. It's niggas like you that go out there thinking it's smooth and lose your life at the citgo or she'll on Covington highway.
I've lived in east point close to a decade. Early on absolutely it was rough. However, they started flipping houses 3 or so years ago and it's changing quickly. There are many safe quiet areas in East Point these days. Its also much more affordable to live here than most places in Atl.
@@sometimeslifehandsyouapple1085 20 years ago, you hardly heard anything on the news about Gwinnett County. It was always Atlanta and Dekalb, and now Gwinnett and Cobb too are getting more and more. I was in Gwinnett for 25 years, in Marietta now.
Customer service is sh_t all around the Metropolitan area. I absolutely hate this city now and the arrogance of people in it as if they really have it going on. My family and I are moving out West in 2026. I was raised here since I was 8 years old and ain't it anymore.
I’ve been in Atlanta for 30 years. Here’s what I learned. If you are black you should move here immediately. Many opportunities to be successful. Businesses do less profiling. Stay north of I 20 and you will be fine except for I20 and 285 west. Take the risk, move up and conquer the world. My kids are half black so……
@@movingtoAtlanta723 I’m just saying. There are some super super dangerous parts of Acworth but you wouldn’t call it a dangerous place to live. College Park definitely used to be pretty sketchy in the 90s and early to mid 00s. It’s really turned around a lot and it’s great to see.
I came to Atlanta in 1989. Atlanta is a great place for black people. But you need transportation, at least two ✌ cars. The second car is a back up. Not for your girlfriend or your friend who lost his or her car in an accident. You going to have to save your money and work two jobs. You don't have time for romance. Survive is the game. Mess around with them fools and you will in up in jail or dead. Keep to yourself, help nobody with anything. Money, rides, food, just mind your business. If need a friend, buy a dog or cat. They're after your resources. They will kill you to get it. Once you hit $100,000 in your bank account. Open up another bank account and start all over, until you reach another $100,000 and keep doing it until you retire. Then buy a home and retire. You don't have to take my advice. Life will educate you, better than me.
Stop lying! Atlanta isn't a good place for black people! It's terrible! The pass for over 12 yrs graduates that couldn't pass the exit exam in Fulton and DeKalb county! They are slow minded and the blind leads the blind
Slow your roll My brutha, college park is not that bad. No you should not live on old national or Washington road but CP has beautiful homes in the older neighborhoods off herschel rd and out camp creek off Butner rd. The CC shopping center is popular, clean and well utilized, Main street has a full row of black restaurants that have Sunday brunch and play music outdoors that is very popular. We just got our own basketball team the college pk Skyhawks and a stadium. It's really just missing awhole foods! It's also very convenient to downtown, the airport, and once on 285 north..Cumberland in 20 min. od quality brickvhomes for 275 that in buckhead would be 475. It's even called the Buckhead of the south.. now don't get me wrong,, I'm not tryin to get more people to move over here,I don't want my property taxes to go any higher, but if u come I suggest you take a look around. The indigo hotel is fly as can be and stops in front from the Marta train station! College park is nice!
I don't even recognize the ATL anymore, lived there for 22 yrs, finally had enough, so I moved. Chile ,I hollered while you told this story, because you ain't never lied.
Gentrification is widespread in the Bluffs. There are townhomes selling for $800k on Bankhead Hwy. Developers are buying up land because they know Microsoft is on the way to the Westside.
Atlanta is a city where the hood has money too. And they live wherever they want …so there’s not too many places to hide here compared to other cities where the hood just stays in the hood
I wanted to visit Atlanta so bad I had got a new job so the training was in Atlanta for 4 weeks after spending the four weeks in Atlanta I wanted to get the hell away from ATL by the 3rd week every single day it was three or four shootings cars been broken into Non-Stop someone stole one of my coworkers whole pickup truck right out of the hotel parking lot I'm from Tampa & we have hoods to but this is another level of hood These young thugs in Atlanta are trying to compete with each other it's sad
@@reelfly and the name of the video is the Atlanta neighborhood. Those ares are not neighborhoods in Atlanta. They are there own incorporated city outside of Atlanta.
Because people think it’s all peaches & cream and reality shows until they move here and get robbed a couple of times People really need to quit moving here because they’re making the traffic worse thinking this is Hollywood
No he is not wrong about Douglas County! I’ve lived in Cobb County for over 25 years , not to far from it! It is infected with racism, violence and corruption. I don’t go to Douglas County for anything. Cobb county will get you to, but it’s better than DC!
I feel if you are not a true native of our city, you will never understand..... every city has crime and boogie people but only true Atlanta natives know and appreciate our city.... there is always Texas or some place else because yall are making the traffic bad with the poor driving, lol 😆
I need to comment about Douglas County. My Wife and I moved to Douglasville in 2020 and our subdivision is the most desirable one (Tributary Sub Division) in this area. We also can boost that Tyler Perry is a neighbor. We have bi-monthly meetings with our Police Department and are on a first name basis with them if we have problems. Douglasville is growing and changing for the better. I have been in Georgia for 7 years coming from L.A. and I haven't had any problems since I have been here.
Anything off of Memorial drive is bad! I lived in Stone Mountain Georgia for 9 yrs; Thank GOD I wasn't a victim of crime; but I think my Glock helped alot😭 The other side of Stone Mountain; Gwinnett; became bad also; even though Marta services doesn't go there...
Outskirts is where it's at, if Atlanta is your destination. Don't move in the city, ultimately it's not worth it. Go to the city for functions and to hang out, but don't live within the city limits. It's not all what it's cracked up to be.....I'd suggest living in places like Smyrna, Marietta, Henry County, Gwinnett
Wow you hit the points lol it's not funny, but you ain't lying. 😂 Up there on Lowery, MLK, Parson is bad too. I graduated from the AUC it was rough. I was on MLK Jr. DR. and the guy asked to carry my wing plate from BTJs and got upset when I said no, but asked for 1 of my wings.
my daughter has been missing for over a year now she was passing thru on the greyhound bus and Atlanta was one of her stops she missed her bus and called to tell me and i told her to call me back and let me know if they would let her get another one but she didnt call me back until a few days later she was crying and told me that these men was holding her against her will and the man wanted me to send money to her i told him i didnt have money like that he got mad and i didnt hear from her for awhile again still these men was trying to get money sent to them . they also told me that they wasnt letting her go that she was good bissness the police wont help me cos they simply think shes a useless drug addict she is an addict but still none the less a human being .
I’m from Columbus, Ga & Michigan (Army Brat) I moved to Atlanta in the 2000. I never had any problems in College Park, lived there for 18 years. I will tell you this I wanted to try Dallas, GA this is not good area for black children in Middle & High School. I literally hate it for my grandchildren, I’m happy my lease is up this summer. My grandson is autistic and they treated him worse then a regular student. My granddaughter had mental issues and the Vice Principal did a search on her looking for drugs the Vice Principal was a he. I told my daughter to sue them. Elementary school I love 💕 the teachers there, that’s as far as it goes. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
This video is about the METRO ATLANTA AREA. he clearly stated that. Everyone who says they are moving to Atlanta ARE NOT talking about the actual city of Atlanta. They are referring to exactly what he's talking about, METRO-Atlanta including Douglas County. Everybody knows this. He's obviously more familiar with geography than you.
@prettyclassylady6218 Yes, Getting views from people who don't currently live in Atlanta but are thinking about moving here. Whats wrong with that? That's actually the whole point of the video. Are you paying attention?

Marietta is generally good not perfect and a mixed-race area where crime is lower compared to other areas mentioned in the comments on this video. I know because I have lived here for the last 10 years.
He did not provide and relative data to support his theory about why some of the neighborhoods he mentioned are on his do move to list. I need information like crime rates, average house hold income, home owner vs renter and so forth.
This video is pretty accurate I been staying here for a year and bout 5 months.....i been to all them areas ....its goes down in them spots you need a 🔫 at all times
Thank you so much for sharing these places. I actually love low income areas. They’re great places to start my businesses. I want to give the residents an opportunity to get out of poverty.
I pay $2500 a month for a damn 1 bedroom cage here in Dunwoody and my cars been broken into twice this year so I don't know what to tell yall. Lol....Also, after 5pm, 99% of Atlanta feels like you have a pretty good chance of getting murdered so, while this guy isn't lying, dont spend too much time trying to avoid it. It's a waste of time and money. Lol
I lived in Dunwoody in the late 90s and loved it close to perimeter mall. Was wondering how Ashford Dunwoody area was now. Everyone started going crazy after 9 11 happened.
@@markbooker174 Man Dunwoody still looks nice because they're still building new apartments and stuff over here all the time, dont get me wrong, but at the same time, it's like the more they build, the more dangerous it gets too. One of my coworkers lives in Dunwoody kinda more towards Sandy Springs and two dudes chased her in her own neighborhood while she was on a run just like 2 weeks ago. It just so happens she used to run track in college and was able to make it to a neighbors house. Smh....I'm probably gon leave the city and head to Gwinett or something soon.
I visited my sister there in Douglasville back in 2016 and came back to ATL area but was in Haperville in 2020 which had me a little bit interested in relocating. Would love to hear from locals who grew up there and what they think of the area.
@@kimberlyvinson9047 yes I would be (sorry added the R there by mistake) I checked the Comedy club out and a Caribbean restaurant that was there too. Not alot to see or do, but I didn't feel a bad vibe or anything. Do you know something about that particular area?
@@IAmEverythang I am a lifelong resident of Hapeville. We have a mayor who has destroyed a lot of the charm that was Hapeville. He wants to make it like any other overcrowded area with little to no green space.
There are very specific spots in Hapeville that are “nice”. But the surrounding areas aren’t nice. It’s fine to visit or work, but I’d never live down there.
@@IAmEverythang Don't listen to these folks. Hapevile is being built up now because it's right next door to the airport. The entire area around the airport is being built up. This is a good time to buy in that area.

I moved to Atlanta from Chicago some years ago and must say that I’ve been here long enough to say this ENTIRE state is trash….. I can’t wait to relocate right up out of here🙄😏🤬
lawrenceville is like a suburbiam area. Its near The Mall Of Georgia, Buford and Dacula. Its considered gwinnett county and its a very big town. My aunt has lived there for over 30 years, she and I are originally from New Jersey(not Newark or Trenton or Camden)but central jersey, so we presumptively moved to an area that is reminiscent of our home towns. It is very much suburbian life and not too ,much criminal activity or problems you need to worry about Nice homes and stores
Yea tha whole Gwinnett is pretty much nice there’s know hoods out there just a bunch of lames claiming north side ain’t nothing to worry about in Gwinnett but there traffic
