Is that based on water or R 410A's specific gravity of 1.08? I came up with Temp Refrigerant Specific Gravity 80 percent Gross weight Using your numbers.

Over here depending on the supplier , some tanks have the maximum charge engraved on the rim of the tank with the most used refrigerants .

Awesome video Bryan and love the app. Question for you though, I am instructor at a tech college in SD. I have often wondered when the manufacture stamps the tank for the TW if they do so before installing the valve assembly and plug in the extra bung. Or is that after the tank is complete and ready to use? That could make a small difference in the overall TW, but maybe not worth worrying about. Just trying to get the most accurate info for students...

I calculate my density at 135 degrees, because I work in the blazes of hell and don't want a blow-off. 30 pound Flame King Max Fill R410A 18.10 pounds R22 21.85 pounds R134A 22.28 pounds R404A 17.75 pounds R422D 20 pounds R438A 20.37 pounds R12 24.75 pounds R11 29.17 pounds

When figuring to find Specific gravity for 130° safe storage, do you subtract the refrigerant liquid density of 130° minus the liquid water density of 77° or the same liquid water density of 130°?
@Reloadeez
@Reloadeez 2 года назад
0.8 x water capacity x specific gravity of the refrigerant recovered @ 77°. Example of r410a, 30 pound tank, 26.2 lbs water capacity. (0.8 x 26.2 x 1.06) = 22.2 lbs, then add tank tare Weight to find MAGW, 30 pound tank is 17 lbs, so total weight = 39.2 lbs Recovery Tank MAGW = (0.8 x WC x SG ) + TW I use .652 instead of .8 to allow hotter ambient storage. r410a example 0.652 x 26.2 WC = 17.08 x 1.06 SG = 18.10 lbs capacity, 18.10 lbs + tank TW of 17 lbs= 35.1 lbs MAGW

@@Reloadeez when looking up liquid density of refrigerant and liquid density of water, i just go by the 130° I like the extra safe percentage you're using for hotter temps.

@@jaymz0074 .652 will get you close to 135 degree storage.
