Don't park in front of people's driveway Part 2! 

I live in an apartment building with paid parking. It's not cheap, either. Even though there are signs everywhere indicating that the parking lot is for paying residents only, careless and/or stupid visitors continue to park in tenants' spots. And it's always the same visitors with their same cars, over and over again. Tenants are forced to park on the street and risk getting a ticket. Leaving notes on the visitors' cars does not work. They crumple up the paper, throw it on the ground, and then park in our spots again the next time they come to our building. What else are we supposed to do BUT get their cars towed? The offending visitors become hysterical with rage, but I have little sympathy for them. I gave one car owner FOUR chances before I called the towing company. He got what he deserved: inconvenience and fine to pay for the towing.

Happy memories of being a council CEO (they are not traffic wardens - they work for the police) in London. My favourite was ticketing Diplomatic cars then booking them for removal, we couldn’t impound them, but you’d be surprised how far we could “relocate to a less obstructive location” 😁😂🤣

Im kinda lucky. My neighbor drives for a local towing company and watches for the douchebags that do this and try to park in my driveway. Within seconds he swoops in and takes their cars away.

As a disabled person who uses a mobility scooter I wish more councils would do this with crossing dips. I used to live near a University, some students are a bit stupid/inconsiderate where they park. We ended up getting double yellows.

It's called common courtesy, and if the person parking doesn't show any and blocks the driveway of a residence then they shouldn't be shown any in return and their car should be towed.

YOU PEOPLE WHO ARE COMMENTING THAT THIS GUY WAS SOMEHOW UNJUSTIFIED FOR CALLING THE POLICE TO REMOVE THE VEHICLE ARE PROBABLY THE TYPE THAT WOULD PARK THAT WAY IN THE FIRST PLACE. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHETHER THIS GUY HAD ENOUGH ROOM TO MANUEVER AROUND THAT VEHICLE OR NOT. I have a cuban neighbor that insist in parking about 2 ft in front of my drive way. I tell him do not block me from entering my drive way. One day i come home there it is again. I back up fast tore his bumper in half.they didnt see a thing. Next morning they asking : who did this ?.i told them i didnt see a thing !

Best way to educate people I have seen, well done mate.

It doesn't matter whether the car is blocking 2ft of the driveway, or the whole thing. Even a partial blockage can prevent you from exiting or entering the driveway, especially if you have a large vehicle or there are many cars parked on the road, limiting your turning area.

You should've recorded the owner's reaction to see his car gone 😂😂😂

It is good to see some RU-vid users has more experience in parking laws, then the parking inspector who was actually there and who would have made the final decision of to have the car towed or not.

Someone did this to my mums driveway, i attached a towrope to it and dragged the fecking thing out the way, left it in the road. the police were called as it was blocking the street partially (whoopsy) and a transporter was out in less than 30 mins. Job done. Selfish cretins who park like this get everything that's coming to them

I had a guy using my actual driveway almost everyday for a fortnight, parking up on my drive and walking to his job around the corner! He's an estate agent. One day my mum came to visit and had to pay to park in my street because this stranger had parked on my drive. I furiously went out and smashed three eggs all over his windscreen. My driveway is private, i pay £30 a week in service charges part of that is for my drive so i was paying for him to park here! The cheeky bastard banged on my door when he got back and almost threatened to kill me if i didn't clean up his car! I rang the police and they came and im happy to say completely sided with me even though i admitted to egging his car. People that have a sense of entitlement are the worst type.

clearly the removed the car cause it was park illegally... so therefore the guy has a right to get it towed.

You can tell the people by their comments here which ones have no business driving! If you can't or won't park well then you can't or won"t drive well so yes every time a car is parked illegally tow it. tow it.. People that cant park well don't drive well. even the simplest parking infringement should be considered a litmus test for identifying bad drivers to remove them from the road completely.

Having the car towed is the best revenge! Now they must pay that fee! 😄

Highway code 243 states, 'Do not stop or park in front of an entrance to a property'. There is nothing about 'blocking' in the law and it is not up to you or the driver of that car to judge whether you are 'blocking'. The law is clear. Do not park in front of an entrance to a property!

Saw a tow truck with a forklift arrangement once. It pulls up beside the offending vehicle, extends the "forks", lifts and retracts back to the bed. I'll take one of each thank you !

Well done. Idiots like this Ford driver need to learn. It does scare me though. If people have trouble coming to a stop in the right way, how are they coping at 70mph? Every day you hear on the radio about crashes on the roads. I'd bet money that most of them are not split-second mistakes, but are in fact the unavoidable outcome because someone has done something radically stupid in an attempt to get home 5 seconds earlier.

That’s a different way to tow a vehicle. Completely different then we have in the US. I ponder how many different ways towing companies implement towing world wide.

What a great idea! Lifting the cars means it doesn't matter if the wheels are locked or the handbrakes on or even if the car is left in gear all things that make it difficult to tow them. We don't have those kind of trucks in the States, I sure wish we did!

I was managing a business and people thought it okay to park on the lot and leave their vehicles for days. The company was too cheap to pay for private parking signs that would allow vehicles to be legally towed by a phone call. The police could not legally tow from private property unless the signs were posted with proper legal wording, unless it was obvious the vehicle was disabled and not able to be driven away. Apparently a flat tire by removable of the valve core did the trick. Valve core replaced. No harm. It was a small business with a small lot. No room for vehicles to be stored there.

The U.S. should have these tow trucks.

Someone blocked access where i work I work in the motor trade. The second time they did it.... It took 2 minutes to put dollies under all 4 wheels and push the car out the way. The car became like a heavy shopping trolley. Easy for people to push about. No damage done, no security footage, no clamping or release fee. We carefully placed it between a lamp post and a concrete bollard. About 1cm clearance front and rear. The police were not interested, the car owner could drive off any time they wished. We charged £100 move their car. They never did it again.

Wow i dont know why most of you blame this guy. He is right. First, whoever blame this guy probably never drive a car nor a learners permit. Second, you see how small the road and cars park on every direction. I drive an 8 passenger vehicle and it will need sooo much forward and reverse to get out. Hell no, i will not waste my tires and brakes for a driver that should know "you cannot park on someone else driveway". He or she could of park another place and actually exercise. No wonder i see so many obese people this days..

i had a neighbor who always had their friends park in my marked spot in a condo i owned at all hours while there was plenty of street parking. ... just layed on the horn until they came out to move ... even at midnight

It's quite simple, don't block people's driveways... not even a little bit. And don't whinge like a twat when there's a video of of a car being lifted because it's blocking. Good for you mate!

You must be one of kindred spirits as I have the same issues. Often city police won't act unless there is a major violation on the car or it appears abandoned. As soon as a tire goes flat, their expiration expires or the inspection is up, the police (& the tow truck company) head on over. I offer them sodas, water and cookies as they hook up the offending car. It gets me high for a week!

my aunty and uncle had a twat park in front of there drive from Monday to friday during working hours. they asked him nicely several times not to park ther but he just laughed at them. the solution was 8 strips of wood with 6 nailes in each one in front and behind each wheel. they never saw him again strange that. and the moral of this story dont fuch with my anty Jennifer

I don't understand how the car is parked illegally if there are no yellow lines, and they have payed the road tax even if it is parked across someone's drive.

It happens to me every week several times a week. Blocking the driveway fully or partially.The crazy thing is the street here is mostly clear of vehicles but always they seem to park blocking the driveway, there are no parking restrictions. Right now there is a car blocking it, yet there are spaces all over the street. I've reported it happening and the local government and the authorities don't do a thing. It would appear in some parts of the UK (and world) things are done differently.

I live I Queens N.Y. and my drive way was half of this, some one once blocked a quarter of it, I called the cops and they said once I can back out of my drive way, although difficult, they can't ticket the car, or have it towed. What bull is this?

The driver could have rented the space from the property owner.

I know people round here who have dropped the kerbs outside their houses without any council permission even though there are parking boxes right outside their property. They still expect other people not to park there and park their second vehicles there.

Anyone knows what to do when a car parks on your drive way? I got a car parked on my drive and it's not any of the neighbours cars?! It looks dodgy but not sure what I meant to do with it?! Any ideas?

you never really see how much space he is left to maneuver his own car, if there is a wall on the right side (which there appears to be) this guy might not have the room to wiggle by that car. And it sounds like this is not the first time that car has been parked like that.

its a spanish number plate, the car has its front wheel over the slopping part of the kerb, he is not blocking the driveway at all, but technically he shouldn't have parked there.

There was a doctor who lived near a sports stadium. People were constantly blocking his drive way and totally ignoring his polite signs. His young son put up a crude lettered sign that ended the problem. Young man wrote, "You block my DAD's drive way and I will let the air out of Your tires!"

Not only illegally parked, but parked in the wrong direction which means they went left of center in order to park where they did !!! That would then be 2 citations if it were me dong the ticketing !!!

I've never heard anybody actually crowing before. Even though he's in the right the crowing is juvenile and most unpleasant.
