That "Just start dating already!" is the one scene I wanted to see Alicia watch for a while now, so thank you for finally arriving in this wonderful meme-worthy scene.
I like that Stark made an honest mistake. Not realizing and felt bad. Fern's bad was punishing him without explaining why he was wrong. It's a very teen moment.
The ED makes me think that Fern could be Frieren’s next “most important person.” Even if everything goes right, it is inevitable that Fern will grow old and Frieren will live on. With Flamme she experienced the loss of a master, with Himmel the loss of her inspiration and companion (and almost lover), and with Fern it’ll effectively be the loss of her daughter… 😭
Now that I realized it from Alicia's POV from the ed and from yours as well, it just makes it bittersweet for me, that Fern will pass away from old age in the end of their journey along with all the friends they have made, while Frieren is still alive and well still living on... What a horrible fate to be an immortal being.
I would kill for a spell to get rid of mold, absolutely should be called a magical spell. For me Seins departure jus felt right and even though I miss him, I thought that it would be fine. Well, I thought so until he said that it's so quiet travelling alone, damn that line hit hard. But yeah, the reason he wanted to go on an adventure in the first place was to meet Gorilla and travel with him and his character arc was about him following that wish to meet him. It would be a disservice to his character to have him decide against that. I hope we'll see both join them later.
Yeah, I've seen people shipping Fern with Frieren... But I just can't. Not even as a usual, "let shippers ship" logic. It's just impossible to see Frieren see Fern as anything but her "little girl". As in, her daughter of sorts.
@@n337 Sadly there's a lot of weirdness in Anime in regards to "Adoptive parents becoming more"... If you wanna feel good about the setting in a wholesome way watch "Usagi Drops". If you want to actively seek the destruction and extinction of mankind then look for and read the Manga. That story is... I need to punch a wall.
idk man even when my parents grab my shoulder from behind to get my attention, I still freak the hell out. Stark’s got nothing to do with it that’s just a bad move.
Worst part is, because of how dudes like stark work, he's prolly gonna make an active effort to never touch her again out of fear and that will need to be another talk they have once fern starts feeling neglected.
Only if Fern just keep quiet and say nothing. That's doesn't happen because Fern talked to Stark again after the event. Stark didn't have to make a conclusion of what went wrong. If he did, he probably not touch Fern again. Fern told him what went wrong so Stark will adjust.
An extra point on Stark scaring Fern, Eisen also said he got scared of Stark in a similar way. (Whether or not it's related idk but I thought about it)
I'm surprised at the amount of restraint you showed when they showed the cows being m--- COW TITTIE MILK There it is. Thank goodness, I was concerned for a moment.
I think that grave to lap transition had the further meaning in the flower to butterfly to fern right before it. Meaning what you said about how Frieren seems to have someone taking care of her that she's growing to love. It really does look like she's remembering all the small things from Himmel and realizing she loved him and that she's now taking what she remembered, and is learning, from those experiences transitioning it to Fern. To me, Frieren remembers the people she loved, even if it's taking her a VERY long time to realize she loved them. Flamme as her Saviour, Himmel as her Support, and Fern as her Guidance. This is how i see it at least.
8:30 finally, someone gets it! I've seen others say they don't get why she reacted so strongly until she said how strong his grip was, but the act alone, the WAY he did it, was more than enough for her to be upset! Hell, I'd be upset too!😭😭
People forget the dude probably could press diamonds from coal with his hand. Dude carved a cliff into a mountain, i would be afraid to shake his hand. Thats probably why eisen hit him too, its the same fear fern felt.
I mean, Fern also claims she was (mostly) fine with it, and the only issue was the strength behind his other hand (which isn’t something he can exactly… change?)
In addition that just putting a hand on someone's shoulder is a no no, that arm can lift boulders. He could have cruahed Ferns shoulder like it was nothing, that had to be extra scary. Stark is strong strong
Also it hasn't really been shown in the anime, but back when Eisen hit Stark out of reflex he had a intimidating aura around him. In the panel where he put his hand on ferns shoulder there was no sign of it, but I wonder if this wouldn't also add to the scared feeling at least a little bit depending on if this aura is always active or only when he is focused, but then you could argue that he sneaked up on her so....
Stark by himself had the physical strength to b!tch slap a full grown dragon to death. What freaked Fern is the fact that she could not move her body out from under his strength at all, his hand alone pinned her to that chair, her realizing that is what freaked her.
I think it was this moment in a different reaction video of this that the reactor finally clarified the party for me. I was thinking, hey, this is a strange party, it's got two mages. But Frieren isn't Frieren this time. Fern is Frieren. Frieren is Himmel.
first time I saw the ending I too felt like it ment Frieren moarning Fern one day. I have not read the manga, so I dont know what will happen, but baring anything crazy, that will be the reality one day. I feel like in the end Fern will become even more important to Frieren than even Himmel is now. since it will be the first person she has spent a whole human life with up close. Just think how much the heroes party influenced her with just 10 years. And this new part of her human experience with Fern is just starting
Guys she answered my Gurren-Lagann comment and said its on her list! I guess I got a little bit noticed. It would be rude to continue with that one I think so i will just continue with this one. Also startint to think i might do this one until its starting to be reacted, would be fun to see how loong it would take. The eighteenth video asking for a DanMachi Reaction. Oh boy, oh boy oh boy, cant wait for tomorrow.
Sein was a much needed older human for Fern and Stark who are still essentially teenagers going on adulthood. Frieren is an elf, and might even just be a teen herself by elf standards for all we know, heck this idea she is only just realizing her feelings for Himmel could imply she is just at that age to really process emotions like that. But yeah, either way a bad mediator for two young humans with some relationship tensions just figuring themselves out, and socially awkward, a girl raised by a priest in the wood from young age after losing her family who has spent her life from like age seven or so till now also living with an elf, and Stark whose childhood was in a suppress emotions combat power means everything warrior clan;...and lost them at a young age to be raised till recently by a dwarf. Having a normal (relatively speaking) adult human around was very much needed.
God damn it! I was so close to complementing you on not making the cow milking wierd that my mouth was moving, but then you go and fumble it the last milisec lol
I'm just going to say, from how it looked on the map, with Auberst only a week away and Tur a much longer distance away, it probably would have been a smarter move to stay together. It's not *that* far out of the way at that point, ya know?
Aside from the typical 'teenage boy not knowing his own strength compared to a teenage girl' bit of the Stark/Fern spat, we have to remember that Stark is so physically strong that Eisen viewed him as a legitimate threat. Even casually resting his hand on your shoulder would feel like a complete restraint. Fern had a right to be terrified - she couldn't have gotten away even if she wanted to.
I mean, Fern was not upset by him coming from behind or by his touching her. She got scared by how strong his grip felt, so it was more Stark not knowing his own power while touching her that upset her.
Yo Fern and/or Stark are probably going to die before the end of the series and Frieren is just going to have to live with that for however long she has left
It's great how perceptive you were in your assumption of why Fern was probably mad at Stark, basically getting it right. To me this is a growth moment in their relationship where they learn boundaries and trust.
But we guys put ourselfs in to a semi or full chokehold all the time. When l was still on the Force we would even choke each other out.,don't women choke each other out too?
Ok regular person does that, sure startled, maybe scared, but Stark doing it, the boy that instinctively scared the shit out of Aisen the Warrior? That's absolute terror inducing, he single handedly killed a dragon in 30 seconds, im surprised Fern didn't faint, I woukd have lol
