When you use “velcro” as a noun or a verb (e.g., velcro shoes), you diminish the importance of our brand and our lawyers lose their insert fastening sound. Since I have used velcro as a verb and as a noun for the past 50 years, that train has long left the station. One of the measures of a company success is to have there brand being used as a verb. And that something you can google!

Sorry guys, but you are *far* too late with this video re-brand attempt to call the product 'hook & loop'. According to the English Oxford dictionary, 'Velcro' is a noun & a verb: ‘the doctor Velcroed the top of Badri's nightgown together’. Never mind that the inventor George De Mestral gave the name Velcro, a portmanteau of the French words velour ("velvet") and crochet ("hook"), to his *invention* as well as his company. Blame him for getting poor trademark advice early on.

I just took time out from hoovering the inside of my JCB to google that. I was so distracted I walked straight into a dumpster, and now I need a band-aid for the cut on my arm. I wiped some of it with a kleenex, and smeared some vaseline over it.
