Ryu can never just play a game. He plays it for 2 minutes and then already starts trying to do crazy wall climbing platforming moves. It's what we all love him for though.
People are mad because of the sponsor... Really? Dudes, the game looks fine, and it's a platformer, the kind of thing Ryu likes. What the heck? Let the guy have fun and pay his bills - and the game looks cool.
Anyone mad about the sponsor doesn't remember the great Dinosaur Ryu debacle a few years ago. Maybe have been the worst sponsorship I've ever seen in my life lol. He has also played some pretty mediocre games for sponsorships, this game seems pretty cool
Yeah the game looks fine, but it isn't "INCREDIBLY GOOD" or "THE BEST PLATTFORMER". It just feels like as soon as he gets sponsored, there is nothing Bad about the product, but everything is perfect and sooo good and the best. Just doesn't seem honest
@@lukas6053 I can't speak for other people, but the game definitely looks pretty interesting to me. I got a "A Hat in Time" vibe from the style, and the gameplay looks extremely responsive. That's what you want from this kind of game! To be honest, the only thing I really found kind of meh is the character design. I found it kind of ugly and uncharismatic. But everything else looks interesting, and if I hadn't just bought Granblue Relink, I probably would have bought the game immediately. It's a definite buy for me, I liked what I saw quite a bit.
There's a Zelda 2 Enhanced PC edition that is making a big splash right now. It has a bunch of QoL improvements and a truckload of completely new content; all of which are all just fantastic editions. It has completely supplanted the vanilla game as the definitive version to play. Anyway, I'd love to see you play it on one of your channels.
I'd point out "Final Fantasy Renaissance" as well if people are looking for something of a similar vibe as the Zelda 2 PC Remaster. It's functionally Final Fantasy 1, as it is on the tin, except they've added more classes to mess around with, all based on classes from games like FF5, Tactics, XIV, and more. The creator (Ozmo) has half-jokingly said he "wants to put as many original classes into the game as possible, so long as they don't step on other classes toes." So we have the classic 6 classes, but also currently Lancer, Dark Knight, Geomancer, Dancer, Bard, Evoker, Trainer ("Beastmaster"), and Time/Green/Blue Mages... with him talking about Chemist and Machinist among others. It's been a blast so far and if you like "the same game but with a twist", I highly recommend it. I saw FFR first and have been having a lot of fun with it, and only just now saw Zelda 2 PCR (both from ProJared, weirdly enough), and the Zelda one looks like a lot of fun as well, so I may have to dive into that as well.
It can also be because of the game itself… I have no problem with sponsored videos (as long as it is clearly stated, like here), but the game seems really silly (not to say childish) and all over the place.
@@Erlewynhow is the game being silly or childish set it apart from other platformers or is a bad thing, literally every family platformer game is silly
This is an interesting game because watching you play it isn’t that much fun, but it looks like if I was actually playing it I would be having a lot of fun. I like when you experiment with new stuff, the hard games series was so great, I know you do that on your other channels a lot. It’s a shame that RU-vid sort of punishes experimentation and creativity. Thanks for introducing us to this game, and thanks for entertaining us on a regular basis!
The Game does Look good. But, i feel like everytime ryu does a sponsor, he is (or seems) dishonest. He always exaggerates. When he gets sponsored by a Game or Product, it is always the ABSOLUTE BEST and the game is INCREDIBLY GOOD and the BEST PLATTFORMER EVERRR. He makes it that there is absolutely nothing even slightly bad and every single thing is soo perfect. For me it just feels like as soon as he gets paid, he doesn't say his own opinion but just praises everything and anything as THE best.
I mean... he's gotta sell it. So it's expected that he's not going to openly gripe/criticize the game. It's up to the viewer to determine if it genuinely looks like a good buy. And this particular game DOES look amazing, and I can tell he had a ton of fun playing it.
@@tsimon8374 of course he got to sell it. But you can still sell something without praising ist like it's made from Jesus himself. It's ok to especially point out the good things, but it is not the best plattforming game ever made, and i haven't seen any ad from ryu which is not "INCREDIBLY GOOD" or "EXTREMELY TASTY" or "THE BEST ... EVERRR". While he had fun playing it, I highly doubt that this game is his favourite plattformer of all time and for ever
I tried "Tiny Thor" because he talked it up so much, only to find out it was average at best. This game is pretty fun though, it's made by the Sonic Mania devs.
Come one Ryu, this is like Mario Odyssey control schematic, just to the next level! The platforming, movement, jumping, and area transitions are very similar. Not that it is a bad thing, btw. Looks very fun indeed!
Yuji Naka: Spends his entire career making us wonder if Sonic the Hedgehog was a lucky accident. Christian Whitehead: Proves over and over again that Sonic Mania was no accident.
Watching Ryu take over the leaderboard reminds me of when Salt posted a pic of him finding a Mike Tyson's Punch-Out arcade game and filling the Tyson leaderboard. Total "shark finding the minnow pond" energy. 😂
It kind of overwhelms you with a lot of movement skills on the first stage. I feel it would help to have learned a few of them first before introducing the next one.
I’m totally fine with Ryu taking sponsors because he totally deserves them and should get that bag, but this video tiptoed the line of being hard to distinguish between “playing for fun” and “playing for payment.” While it’s fine to have fun with a sponsored game, i just feel that you have to make it very clear when you’re sponsored (with #ad or something similar). Just my two cents
The platforming and gameplay looks amazing, but I don't know how I feel about the Jumping Flash color palette. I want to not care about it, but it's just super ugly IMO.
I dont understand this view at all on the art design, the colors are supposed to look reminiscent of sonic mania’s spritework as the team who made this game also made sonic mania. Also how is penny’s design being very 1999 insulting, the character’s supposed to look like its from 1999.
It's more 1995-96, but that's not really important. I disagree that the palette echos Sonic as that's more based on bolder blues and greens, the palette of this game reminds me more of Jumping Flash (as mentioned above) as well as Bubsy 3D. Games that don't have a great legacy attached to their image. While the fantastic gameplay is sort of a super charged Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, or Crash Bandicoot. It's just curious to me that they chose to make the game look like memories of not great games.
I see what youre saying but i think they intentionally wanted the game to look like jumping flash becausse no ones done it really, and in my opinion it looks kinda unique. It reminds me of 90s cgi if that makes sense. Also with the sonic thing, the flat textures on level geometry are supposed to look similar to their pixel art since the team previously was doing pixel art (sonic mania)
Hi Ryu! I'm only here for the SMM stuff :D. Not trying to be mean, but I know feedback helps a lot. Thank you for all the laughs and entertainment you've brought me.
@@ThinkBeyondOrdinary His 'fans' don't want him to get any money except about SMM for his entire life. How dare he tries something else on this channel!
Sorry, I only come here for Mario content. Not interested in other games or I’d look at your other channels. Isn’t that what those are for? Mario maker only please
You've already made it, no need to fake it. 😁🫂 Besides it's okay to not like a sponsored product, meaning if it's not for you; big deal. It very well be for someone else watching. Thanks for the upload as always 👍
