I've never watched people in the toilet paper aisle so I wouldn't know. If I ever remember to at a busy time, I'll stake out the toilet paper aisle and report back.

My mommy just informed me that she does. Something about that's how you tell if there is a lot on the roll or if it's all air. I just grab any cheap 2-ply that is non soft. They always last long, it's the gas station sandpaper types.
