Very sincere request i have watched so many podcasts and different people told variety of lifestyle diet can you please help us giving a proper diet plan on what should a normal south Indian middle class person can eat in a day. Bcz all are saying legumes oils whole grains but as a layman we are not able to start a plan, so please make a diet plan and upload so we can follow readily . ❤
Lets keep it simple: Have lots of variety (rainbow color) of clean, whole/unprocessed foods preferably plant based - conscious timed meals with an eye on your portion size (not your TV) - Exercise at least 20-30min daily, keep yourself happy and positive, sleep and wake up on time, get some sunshine and take a walk with nature and your Self.
My take aways from this very informative podcast 10 plant points per day Gradually increase fibre intake to 50gms per day Fibre intake very very important Carbs not bad, sugar is bad Try oil free cooking for 70% of the meal at least Fiber as snack and nuts with meals Lifestyle changes, sleep early Have fruit before meals Lentils are a very good source of protein Stick to whole things, whole grains, whole fruits, no fruit juices etc Stay away from ultra processed foods Keep fruits in ur kitchen and avoid keeping junks Only 2000 dollars(in terms of daily requirement of calories, on an average) to spend per day, spend each and every penny judiciously, like even a single calorie should be nutritious
Thank you for such an informative podcast. Loved it! Three points I learned from today's podcast: 1) More soyabeans, less soyachunks which is unfortunately a lot more common amongst Indian population. 2) First time I heard about gut microbiome transplantation surgery and how it can impact the recepient cravings 3) Unsalted, unroasted nuts are more nutritious than the roasted, salted ones.
44:15 exactly. we have home made snacks, we received so many fruits for some occasion. Snacks can stay, fruits spoil, we snacked on fruits that week. Didn't even thought about snack until 7th day. ;-). Now we are doing this monthly once to make it habit.
To achieve 30 grams of fiber and only 5 grams of net carbs in a day all you need is: 1. Chia Seeds (2 tablespoons) Fiber: 10 grams Net Carbs: 1 gram 2. Flaxseeds (2 tablespoons) Fiber: 6 grams Net Carbs: 0.5 grams 3. Avocado (1 medium) Fiber: 10 grams Net Carbs: 2 grams 4. Psyllium Husk (1 tablespoon) Fiber: 5 grams Net Carbs: 0 grams 5. Spinach (2 cups, raw) Fiber: 2 grams Net Carbs: 1 gram 6. Zucchini (1 cup, cooked) Fiber: 2 grams Net Carbs: 1 gram Total for the day: Fiber: 35 grams Net Carbs: 5.5 grams
Very informative and interesting! I even wrote down most of the important details for future reference. Thank you Dr Pal & Ms Roshni Sanghvi, for such an important conversation!🙏
Thank you Dr.Pal And Roshni mam, you have emphasised the Importance of having fruits as part of every meal . I will try to make it as lifestyle inclusion going forward
Most insightful! Thank you Roshni Sanghvi and Dr. Pal for emphasising the importance of fibres. Thank you for the lifestyle changes suggested and building the excitement for inclusions of as many foods to make a colourful bowl. Best wishes to you both and viewers worldwide!
I am totally confused.sometimes it is don't eat too much carbs and include protein.Othertime include too much carbohydrates...Can anyone tell me what to eat😢
Don’t eat too much carbs - here the carbs are refined carbs - white rice, maida, chips, cakes etc. Eat moderate qty of carbs - whole grains, pulses, lentils. Include protein - mostly vegetarians will never exceed daily protein need, hence no worry for vegetarians on excess protein. Non vegetarians m might exceed protein and hence restrict.
😂😂😂 you should check your blood test and consult a nutritionist and try what foods works for you, everyone is unique what works for Dr.Pal might not work for Roshni and what works for both of them might not work out for you.
Not a doctor, but eat a lot of protein(I eat meat every day but it depends on your diet preference), lots of veggies/fruits, high fats, low-medium carb. I think generally this works but it can depend on your body though. I also do bjj and gym so it could vary depending on your lifestyle. Dr.Pal brings people from wide spectrum(from lady who preaches high meat/low carb, to someone who is Satvik and says no meat), so it’s more of different perspectives.
The information is excellent and highly informative. However, it can be overwhelming for the average person to absorb and implement. A summary on a board, along with real food examples, would be really helpful.
This Chanel doesn’t promote animal based diet.. we have been eating fruits and vegetables and sick. They will try to confuse us so we think that we are wrong.. eat fatty food. That is the only one we are avoiding.. let’s eat that and see how it could work wonders
@@Oneworld1984of course sir.. then why India is called the diabetic capital of the world? India is predominantly Vegetarian.. so please use your own research and some common senses.. India is the no 1 exporter of Red Meat, but won’t allow their own people to eat.
I am gonna share some steps which I personally feel will work. 1. Exercise - Start with atleast 5k steps per day to 10k, If feasible Strength training is higly recommended. 2. Limit Junk foods/ Oil Foods/ Sugary foods/ Empty Calorie foods 3. Eat High Fibrous foods - Fruits(1-2 Perday) and Vegetables 4. Plan meals accordingly how Dr Pal Advices, as per circadium rhythm 5. Start with atleast 1g of protein per 1kg of body weight and as you progress slowly increase 6. Try to Limit Carbs - Simple carbs (White Rice and refined grains) 7. Eat healthy fats (Seeds Nuts etc) I think the diet part you gotta make it a lifestyle change rather than dieting for 3months and losing weight and then falling off the wagon and regaining weight. All the very best. I hopt this is a bit helpful.
57:15 what about those who are trying to loose weight/ in a calorie deficit diet and want to retain their muscle: plant based diet cannot entirely help. I agree with everything else she mentioned but not about plant protein being enough for the muscle retention. Plant protein does not have full Amino acid profile(9 amino acids makes a full amino acid profile). Lean animal protein has complete Amino acid profile. Eating way too much legumes can irritate your digestive system too, always a mix of plant and animal protein is good.
Sir,a kind request, please add Tamil subtitles if possible, there are elders who are not well versed in English,nd lack great content like this in Tamil. So please consider doing it sir.❤❤❤❤❤ p.s: Great content sir 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Hi dr please put one video for gastric issues with coeliac disease person what food we want to eat what we want to avalo. I m in out of country . Ur video is very useful for all dr. Thank you. Ur doing great work.🎉
I am very much interested in this disease reversal part. I am studying from the internet, some books about nutrition, some podcasts on heart disease. obesity, BP and Diabetes. Can anyone help me with the roadmap of how to further in this field? As I see everyday, the heart failures are becoming so common and the 'stent' is like a small surgery which almost every 60+ yrs old is having, and most of them are either diabetic or obese or high BP. I just wanna make a change, help people in leading a disease free healthy lifestyle.
I dont agree wd her about protein at all.... jus cz shes a vegan n she knows veg sources r not gud fr proteins so shes downgrading its importance ... other thngs she said wer gud and enlightening.
Dear Dr Pal, please give us an update on are you regularly following the #100daygutmanchallenge after the 100 days completed. How is your muscle building process going?
Sr pal please let us know if half aata and half millet is ok....as people said dint mix flours....some said dont eat carbs....now we are totally confused
Plz call Dr. S. Kumar for discussion on his research on diabetes he is phenomenal.. Apart.. she needs to do more research on ghee, protein requirement & oil free cooking..
Fruit on an empty stomach spikes glucose. That is not good for pre diabetic and diabetic patients.. I start my mornings with healthy fats and some kind of protein . That makes you eat less and crave less for the rest of the day. creating portion control. I would say . Eat fruit during snack times ( between lunch and dinner) instead of tea or coffee. either regards to next fruit to eats - berries, amrood, grapefruit , apples - dragon fruit, and passion fruit , pomegranate.. that’s it.. of course if you can’t find these or not in budget - finance whatever is locally available in season and eat those..
My mind is 🤯. On podcast with Sangeetha Aiyer, fruit and carb was bad. In this podcast, we are advised to eat everything. Fibre, fruit, legumes, lentils. I don’t know what to eat honestly 😫.
Dr pal i have extreme gas issues if i eat lentil and fibres like cucumber i get severe palpitations....also i have bad constipation...how to manage this
Has anyone had the same problem as me of not being able to understand what they are talking about . Fistful , one serving , 2 serving , eat fibers you wont gain weight etc . Can someone simplyfy whatever she said in 2-3 points .
Just inculde 25-50 g of fiber in your diet it's do'snot matter from which source it coming from . How u know how much gider u eat ? See app coronometer insert everything u eat in a day you can see all nutrients
When Roshani say eat your grains, are grains not inflammatory, or only the polished versions of grains like all the whites are inflammatory? Why I am asking is as humans and especially we Indians eat lot of grains (carbs) and put on weight. When Roshani says eat your grains, we moderately eat grains? Please clarify. What should be the portion of your grains in proportion to your veggies, protein and fats in your plate?
Grains in her sense mean whole grains, without the bran of the grain removed. When you harvest rice, it has bran, endosperm(the white rice) and the germ, these three combined is called whole grain. We eat white rice, which lack fiber and other imp nutrients which are present in the bran, so that's why she's insisting to eat more grains(whole grains). Some other eg: Millet, Bajra, Wheat, Quinoa. I would recommend whole grains to be 35-40%, Fats atleast 25-30%, Protein 30-35%, Veggies you can have as much as you can. (The trick is our body will tell us when to stop eating if we eat the correct foods and its so rare to over eat on healthy foods especially on veggies)
Fibers can deley ur insulin raise but its good for gut i do not agree... tipe -2 dibetics is elevated levels of glucose n so does insulin ....... consider fat as a better fual and protein as a building block.. no need of carbs.
Bored to death with these discussion as every idiot has a different theory ! To keep it SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE WORK OUT EAT LESS THAN 80% of ur capacity AVOID REFINED AND DONT STRESS OVER WHAT TO EAT 😂 THANK ME LATER HAVE FUN 🙌
These doctors, dieticians, nutritionists, fitness persons are providing us lot of confusion in a fancy plate. Today on tha ocassion of vijaya dashami my 94 years old father had two poranpolis with sufficient homemade ghee. I am not able to have the same quantity. we failed to follow the normal food habits treditionaly we are having
I don't agree with saying legumes or whole grain have protein or any proper source. Soya yes definitely is a good source. Veganism has become a fad nowadays, I am not against it but I understand your choices of protein become very limited.
Will it be enough to consume One Apple one banana in a day for fiber? I am not getting all the maths of 1 bowl fruits 2 bowl fruits concept. Plus this sound expensive, its out of middle class people's budget. Banana is cheap and available through out the year so how many banana to eat in a day to fulfill the fiber requirement??
Also Dr. Pal if possible ask the nutritionist to suggest some budget diet plan for middle class people. All of them(nutritionist, dietician) sound so expensive, its difficult to follow their Mediterranean, avocado, bowl of fruits diet. We are here not to become Anjelina Jolie but just to stay minimum healthy.
No i disagree with her opinion regarding the millets,it will not give the same taste as reguler rice, millets causes lot of gas for me, even after soaking in water whole night
Don't agree with soya and lot of intake of lentils and cutting out meat entirely as she is a vegan..little meat is necessary! Why is she talking about berry consumption in India??Even in USA or Canada fresh berries are very expensive out of the season..
I can see that Dr.s are speakinh eloborately only in youtube videos. I have personal experience, that asking questions about understanding our body is tempting the doctor. They are easily getting angry and asking us even if i explain will you understand it. So sad...
