Don't Starve Shipwrecked Guide: Hurricane Season (Day 20-35) 

Can't believe I have to say this but also not surprised, OF COURSE we are going to talk about mechanics for specific seasons IN THEIR specific guides! If I talked about Hurricane season stuff in the Mild Season guide then we would've had very little to talk about in this one here. I thought that was obvious but some people never fail to impress me. That being said, remember too that these seasonal guides are a SERIES of videos - meaning you are meant to watch them all and then apply the knowledge gained from each into one playthrough eventually. You will also note that your own experience and know-how can and should be layered among that idea itself too. Come on know folks, you know me! I cover what I do and don't on purpose! It's all about maintaining the sense of personal discovery and progression while providing the basic knowledge needed to learn, attempt, die, repeat and hopefully get further each time! As someone returning to shipwrecked, these guides have been so helpful but I love the recurring theme of... TRAWL NETTING!

I always spend my first hurricane seasons crafting man made turf and sandbags, upgrading base, hunting whales, and trawl netting. Sometimes I also fight the Quacken if she happens to spawn while im netting. If theres extra time, I try to find the volcano to get a coffee farm and a elephant cactus crocodog trap aswell.

9:33 you can also hide behind rocks or even your chiminea to negate sealnado's suck-you-in attack.

I'm making a list of things mentioned in this video that I should get BEFORE entering hurricane season so I'll leave it here for y'all - lightning rods - alchemy machine - snake skin hat/jaket - cutlass supreme - chiminea - palm leaf hut - fences - fight quacken maybe? During the season: - collect ice maybe? - explore as much as possible with the right gear - fight the sealnado

There need to bee more waterproof clothing items that don't provide shock resistance for wx. There just aren't enough good options.

Oh dang, I never knew that you can repair the Iron Wind with gears; I just let mine run out! The guides I've seen never mentioned it, and I only just thought to check the wiki for it. I guess I'll need to deal with Sealnado again. I just hope I can find Swordfish, because they're been notoriously reluctant to show themselves.

my hurricane season be so fine until sealnado comes like 3 days early before i have a single thing set up and uses the vacuum attack and kills me instantly and upon being revived all my stuff has been strewn about probably off into the water too

Ok I don't know if people will see this but I've been playing shipwrecked, it's day 30 and I'm finding birds, but only in the seagull marked points on the map. this includes comorants, but I haven't been on land enough to test for parrots. My game may be bugging, but bird spots may be active during hurricane season

I do like the sail stick you make out of the magic conch for the next year's hurricane season if I'm sailing anywhere during it. Using the conch and stick together helps too, though it'll be the third year before you can do it, and only if the sealnado shows up both times.

One of my switch controlers got Drift so its virtually impossible to play until i get new ones 😒

Tip for Wendy users make a snake farm to get venom, monster meat and snake skin it's easy (at least on the phone editions) just put sandbags or any wall around the shaking vines

Hurricane season is my favorite season out of all of them.

All this stuff is scary, but nothing is as bad as Hounds/Crocodogs. God I hate these things. I'm completely disabling them my next playthrough like I always do Hounds, because they're way too annoying even if you reduce their frequency to "Less"
