Don't Starve Shipwrecked Guide: Mild Season (Days 1-19) 

I will remind you that stressing over what day you see ME in and realizing that you aren't there yet is pointless. Every world and player is different, the only thing that *must* be happening the day of is at least beginning base by day 19. Heck, you don't even need to finish it until midway through Hurricane if you feel like it. A couple notable things from previous experiences that still apply; Picking flowers early for eventual rot to get a MASSIVE head start on fertilizing is still viable, even more so in Shipwrecked. Limpets and coconuts can help with early food too, jellies are the way to go though Small, contained bases on smaller islands may be your best bet... more on that in Monsoon season however... Hey The Beard, yet again another excellent video. Back when Shipwrecked first released, (not in beta). I use to get starting islands with so little resources that you couldn't even get off the starting island. This is why I started using Walani all the time. I have one myth for you The Beard. You can get a starting island with a gold boulder, (not by custom world either). But by just pure luck and random generations. My first base is normally on a island with multi-biomes, (water beaffalo preferred). Killing alot of jellyfish or anything else in the water will equal a solo crocodog and/or many shark hounds. RUN! RUN! RUN! (Boat very fast). Thanks The Beard & have a great day.

Just remember, there's a particular parrot that cannot be used in the crafting. He'll have a pirate hat on him, and he's just fun to have around to produce eggs and occasionally insult you.

5:06 Simple. Best Island is near The Volcano. If you've got a better spot on the oposite side of the world just travel through the fog and base there. Being near The Volcano is sooo useful during Dry season which Beard will hopefully tell you in his upcoming video.

If there is a big, juicy patch of berry bushes on your home island, I recommend to not dig them up as they don’t need fertilization

I actually got lucky with the slot machine to get most of my combat needs and a few materials to get started on magic before day 7. So I did the rational thing and kept looking for pirate parrots to spook to gamble more, and it worked. I actually got most of my base done from the thing. Y'all may call it addiction but I call it strategy! The best part is is that I am a pretty much a noon(even with your help beard) and have a game file that is over my personal record of 28 days!

I actually started on an island with gold on it! its highly unlikely but possible, the RNG goddess kissed me that day!

one thing you don't want to do, put the waterbeefalos spawn rate to more, you will almost die because i didn't know they were aggro they spawned on my starting island and i was able to make two farms but they nearly killed me

I would also suggest to take a day to fence twing and grass farms. Hurricane season autofarm for the win! Sure you could just pick up everything near shore buut fences are cheap and convinient

The only disapointment in dont starve is that at my first good run when i got to the Hurricane season sealnado didnt spawn and i fought the quacken who got his head to the fog so i could not hit him and died

Ok i know hamlet says its for experienced players and I just got the game but I accidentally did hamlet instead of shipwrecked and i survived a week and i got the alchemy machine and a berry farm with endless amounts of mandrakes and i suicided so i could get some xp for willow and then i tried her on the ACTUAL shipwrecked and i died in two days... With willows INFINITE LIGHTER... and 97% DAY...
