I honestly never understand when people argue against the tax on non-muslims in Muslim states. It's the equivalent of me arguing that I shouldn't pay tax in a western country, even if that tax they charged me was less than what they charge everyone else... It's like, they reduce the tax for me in order TO NOT offend me. And I get offended ...
No that’s not the same. Tax on people in western countries is nothing about what faith you are. It’s about how much you earn. What tax bracket your income rests in. You can’t tax someone because they are a NON Muslim.
@@hereweare9096 Also your definition of tax is wrong. Tax is a fee charged for a service taken. The govt provides a service and its citizens pay the tax for that service. Non-Muslims in a Muslim society are protected and supported by the works carried out by the state and are hence charged for that service. Muslims are charged a bit extra since they have an obligation by choosing the faith of Islam to give a portion of their wage to help the needy. So it's not just about the service provided. In a Muslim society the amount of tax taken from its citizens both Muslim and Non-Muslim is nowhere near close to the average tax a citizen would pay in a western country. So you are right, it's not the same as me saying I shouldn't be charged tax in Non-Muslim country if I am Muslim. It's actually more silly

You only have to look on the pact of Umar and/or books of fiqh on the treatment of Dhimmi and it is nothing like what is presented. Also there is no fixed amount or limit for Jizya , at best there is guidance on limiting it to "no more than they can bare", so to say it is less than Zakat is not demonstrable.

Akhi no point in warning someone who doesn’t even believe, warnings and reminders only benefit those who fear their creator. Check out the tafsir for surah Ya seen, Allah talks about these kinds of people and why they are the way they are.
