Awesome video! Wanted to butt in on the biology of hearing above and below: In your ear the top is hard and the bottom is squishy. This slightly filters sounds coming from above or below and that's what we pick up on. Hard surface reflects higher frequencies and squishy absorbs high frequencies. More complex than that but yeah that's the general idea

I hear that you cant lose the DOLBY ATMOS sound with PCM as long as your conection was vía hdmi 2.1 eARC. Is that true? Ok. So… if i choose PCM in a TV with hdmi 2.1 eARC conected in a soundbar with hdmi eARC with dolby atmos… can i still get the DOLBY ATMOS sound? Context: i have a Neo Samsung qled qn90b conected to a soundbar Samsumg HW-q800b with extra rear speakers vía hdmi 2.1 eARC and in the TV audio Settings i have 2 óptions: PCM or AUTO. With AUTO i have some tiny sound distorsions in the movies like “rrrg” the distorsion duration is no more than a sec. But when i change the format to a PCM the distorsion desapears… so…. What should i do? I dont wanna lose the atmos sound! Pls help!

I have a 6.2 speaker system... should I use 6ch(5.1) audio or 8ch(7.1)audio files...🤔

with 6.2 setup (6 head level speakers, 2 subs) you can play 5.1 or 6.1 files if you use 7.1 file the side channels will be missing

I believe that there is an Auro 3D Orchestral recording of the original HALO video game theme song.

I can always tell when a person came up in the technology because of their use of the naming convention. In the ().().() the middle number is supposed to be a BINARY COICE only a 1 or a 0 only. The younger pups are the ones that list the number of subs beyond 1 or 0. For example Adam would declare my system a 7.2.4 when I came up into this tech in the late 70's so I would say that I have a 7.1.4 system with two subs. In essence the middle was there to designate as to whether you included a subwoofer in your system or not.

I find the linguistics and changes in the norms to be fascinating. Brent's favorite is when I say record player vs. turntable. - Adam

@@EtherealProAV As long as you are aware of the differences between the two. The Turntable is a source device & the Record Player is a complete solution (source, amplification and output) device.

Man, next time read before video what every shortcuts means, you dont know half of them and you just reinveted them and badly. It was sad, that you a good guy, putting lot of efford to this and telling wrong info. Or simply dont tell what PCM mean, and just use PCM and dont explain P C and M... You are good, I like you. You again remember me AC3. Im making mp3 from 2002 witch first Franhofeur codec l3enc, maybe I will also may make video :) LOL with lot of mistakes so someone may critize me. The best thing, how to learn something and see own gap, is to teach someone.

False. The aim of lossy codecs and how they function is the removal of inaudible data that you literally cannot hear to begin with. The issue only starts when you get into really low bit-rates or in other-words over compression.
